Nope (2022)
Peele continues free fall
If there was a hidden meaning in this movie, it was hidden very well cause I couldn't find it.
I was not expecting another Get Out, but this movie was below the already low expectation.
A big plastic bag is an eye/ hole shape ufo eats you if you look it in the eye??? Why? And the sister and brother just want to make a shot so they can earn some money from it?? No other concerns?? Like that alien/ufo is eating their horses and people. The brother was sooo calm all the time that honestly I tought he had something to do with all these.
And what was about that monkey story? How was that linked to the main story?
If you ask me, the director just continue to free fall.
Short Circuit (2018)
I will be honest with you
Some of these short animations made me cry.
It is a talent to tell a story in such a short time and in such an artistic way. I am glad I watched this.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
This is something else
I have never seen anything like this in my life. This movie left me with dozens of philosophical questions, a giant headache, 8 buckets of tears, and tremendous admiration.
Also, great acting is not enough to describe the acting.
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
It has the soul
I would take a screenshot of each scene and make it my wallpaper, if not hang it on my wall.
This one has the style, the look, the music, the vibe. I really liked what they did here.
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
Not impressed
I really didn't like the acting of Kerry Washington. She constantly looked like she depises everyone and acted maybe more dramatic than necessasry.
On the other hand, all of the kid actors/actresses were very good.
About the story, I didn't read the book but if this is the story, it has some confusing and messed up messages like kidnapping children is love?
The finale was absurd and silly too. It failed to satisfy me.
The only good thing to watch was Reese Witherspoon but I feel like she has been acting as the same person for a while now.
The Intern (2015)
More fantastic than Harry Potter
I have grown up with a toxic father so Ben is a more fantastic character for me than Harry Potter. Really, have you ever seen such a man over 65 around you? Maybe in America, I don't know.
Also, what actually happens in this movie? What is the story? An incredibly calm, good, modern, kind, good looking, healthy old man who knows everything makes an online shopping company better? Where is the conflict?
Let me tell you this I have worked in big corporates and currently working in a start up. People would eat Ben alive.
Overall, it was an unrealistic feel good movie for me.
Shazam! (2019)
Overall it was a good movie
You can sit with the entire family to watch this movie and nobody would be bored. It is not an epic super hero movie, and it doesn't claim to be one. It was fun and nice to watch. Thank you!
Perfect Sense (2011)
Before / After pandemic
What you think about this movie will depend on when you see it. If you saw it after 2020 when the pandemic spead to the world, you will probably find it scientifically lacking. The movie doesn't explain why the pandemic started, how it affects the brain chemicals, how it spreads, what could be done to prevent, etc. It is a lot more poetic.
The plot is very good and provoking, unfortunately not very well executed.
I don't see any reason why the girl is a scientist, even i seem to know a lot more about a pandemic than she does. She could be doing another job and nothing would change in the movie.
This is a bit personal taste but i don't think Eva Green and Ewan McGregor goes well as a couple. She is cold and distant, he is warm and looking to be closer. But this is just my opinion.
Restaurants on the Edge (2019)
Good idea very bad execution
The idea is very good; combine travel, food, culture, wine, interior design and make an interesting show.
Only ended up with "know it all" Americans over looking local cultures, creating no bond with the shop owners, becoming "experts" in a day, exhibiting nothing special.
Eighth Grade (2018)
Very impressed
I am very impressed how Bo Burnham, a man, could reflect the daily life of a a teenage girl so sincerely and honestly. Very good movie, loved it. Also Elsie Fisher is amazing! Gucci :)
Gokseong (2016)
2.5 hours gone and won't come back
This was one of the most meaningless movies I have seen in my entire life. And it had 2.5 hours to have a meaning in it. Don't waste your time.
