I thought the movie was masterful. I'll grant that it was long -- very long -- and the ending (multiple endings, really) dragged a bit, but overall, it was captivating and beautiful. The best word is "powerful." Not only are the battle scenes exciting and terrible, but the emotional involvement with the characters evokes strong responses in the audience. There were many times I wept for them, or wanted to leap up and cheer for them.

I really do think that this movie did the books justice. Things were changed and cut, yes, but that was to be expected. Things change in adaptation, but in RotK, they were changed so that the movie was better for it. Astounding. Absolutely fabulous.

Alright, even if this movie had sucked -- if the script had been weak, the special effect so-so, and the plot boring -- it still would've been worth seeing. Johnny and Orli are just fantastic -- what hot blooded girl *couldn't* just watch them for two and a half hours? Not to mention Johnny's spectacular acting in this film -- he was brilliant. But it *was* a good movie. The script was wonderful. The dialogue was absolutely fabulous, so quick and witty. The film was also visually stunning, a real tribute to new movie-making technologies. As for the sfx, I need only point to the underwater march. Two very difficult elements -- cgi underwater and cgi skeletons, mastered simultaneously. Overall, I think this is one of the best movies I've seen this year. It certainly outshines the overhyped Matrix: Reloaded and gives X2 a run for its money. And neither of those movies had Johnny or Orli. ;)

I, too, discovered this on Toon Disney at 1:30 in the morning. (I make it a habit to watch late-night cartoons). This show is absolutely fabulous. I love cartoons, and this one just takes the cake. Everything about it is so creative and funny--even the theme song is uniquely hilarious! Anyone who thinks cartoons are just for kids needs to check out this series: the adult humor is wonderful.
