Yellowjackets: Two Truths and a Lie (2023)
Season 2, Episode 5
Wow.
21 April 2023
Yellowjackets has been an incredibly well done, and season 2 has surprised me. The sense of consistency (just look at the ratings of each episode) has been a highlight, but it's prevented us from recording an episode that deserves above a 9/10. We had not yet received that "pivotal" episode where a show really reveals itself as well as it's true nature as of yet. Season 2 episode 2 was close (the ending), but Episode 5 takes every plot arc that's been building throughout both episodes and just expands upon it in a crazy manner. I truly feel this was the first "amazing" episode of a great show. The drama and build up works better than ever, and the essence of finally leaning more into the supernatural was done so well. The last five minutes left me absolutely speechless... amazing episode.

I actually really enjoyed most of the episodes. 1,3,4,6,&8 were all great. They range from cute and charming to brutal and sadistic. The show really gives us a better look at how Vaught as a company affects the lives of citizens and families. 2&7 were also rather enjoyable and a bit more personal in terms of scope. The 7 episodes mentioned all have solid voice acting, animation styles and music that support the premise, and intriguing characters (some of whom we've seen before). My main issue lies with episode 5 which is the worst episode of any show I have ever seen in my entire life (I'm not even joking.) This episode singly handedly lowered my rating from a 7.5. The concept is somewhat unique, but where the episode decides to go is just disgusting and stupid. The voice acting is hideous (it's mostly just Awkwafina) and it felt like an episode that belonged in a different show entirely. I hated it and highly recommend you save yourself fifteen minutes by skipping over it. The other 7 episodes are worth watching, but I have to grade the season as a whole.

Terrible

This was genuinely the worst thing I have ever seen in my entire life. The first four episodes ranged from decent to good but this was the worst episode of any show I have ever seen and I hated every second of it. It was painfully disgusting and forced. The animation style made it even worse. Words can't fathom how much I hated this monstrosity. The voice acting sucked, the plot was gross and terrible, and I immediately came here to write a review about how bad it was. Please, skip over this episode.

Rick and Morty: Rickdependence Spray (2021)
Season 5, Episode 4

Worst episode of the entire series by far (as of 07/12/21)

Wow. I'm amazed at how genuinely terrible this episode was, especially given that season 5 was off to a pretty solid start. Not only was the premise of the episode annoyingly stupid and disgusting, it didn't make much sense at all. There were no funny scenes whatsoever, no memorable quotes, and every character is unlikable. The issues presented are forced upon the audience in such a poor fashion, and the show is lacking it's normal wit. This honestly felt like a different show entirely. I'm incredibly disappointed. I hope season 5 gets back on track, especially given that at this rate, it'd be hard to get any worse.

Life-Changing

The Perks of Being a Wallflower isn't just a movie, a book, or a story. It's an experience, and an accurate representation of how every individual in their life will at one point, feel lost. Despite perfectly incorporating the feeling of isolation, Chbosky manages to create a hopeful atmosphere that will undoubtedly produce tears for those who have ever flirted with this sort of reality.

Alongside a perfect story, direction, and soundtrack, the cast elevates the film into something even more beautiful than one shall anticipate. Logan Lerman and Emma Watson perfectly display their ability to translate a real character onto the big screen, leaving their massive blockbuster counter parts of Percy Jackson and Hermione Granger in the past. From the innocent kind demeanor Lerman is able to produce, to the sweet, loving, and understanding senior Watson helps create- the two leads steal the film in all their glory. Ezra Miller continues to show his ability after the captivating "We Need To Talk About Kevin." By portraying two opposites in back to back years, Miller proves his future in Hollywood is bright. With the likes of the lovable Paul Rudd, the complex Mae Whitman (the iconic voice of Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender), a realistic Nina Dobrev, and the wholesome Kate Foley/Dylan McDermott, The Perks of Being a Wallflower welcomes and accepts all audience members to tell a heartfelt, loving, realistic, and emotionally-driven story that helps push an inspirational narrative.

"And in that moment, I swear, we were infinite."
