Sharkenstein (2016)
I Only Spent 10 Minutes Watching
Initially, I was watching a Law & Order SVU episode. It was the episode where ADA Barba leaves the show after making a life changing decision of a comatose baby. I found that episode thought-provoking and sad; there really were no good decisions to be made regarding the baby.
After the SVU episode ended, my family was preparing to watch this movie, and I decided to join them. I had no idea what this movie would be except for the title. So, I assumed the film would be a "Sharknado" competitor...
Anyone that watches the first 10 minutes of this film will understand that this film is a comedy! Enough said.
False Positive (2021)
I got to experience the unknown
I have never taken drugs in my life, but my friends have recounted their experiences with drugs to me. From what I have been told, this movie is like a "bad trip":
The predictable plot twists, the gullibility and stupidity of the woman, the lack of horror/suspense even though the movie is in that category. There is no feel good about this movie; there is just a sinking feeling of despair as you realized you wasted time watching this movie. I thought I had no regrets in life, but I am wrong.
I am glad to see what a "bad trip" is without taking drugs because I did not believe that was possible.
Panic (2021)
I wish this was my childhood
I was confused by some events that occurred in this series.
First, the police officers are incompetent at best. Teenagers died from the previous years' Panic game and the police act ho-hum about stopping the game the current year it begins. Honestly, they are shown only when the audience needs clarification/get everyone on the same page. If y'all watch the show, the officers actually do not stop anything (I do not consider the officers crashing the END of the second challenge anything significant since everyone important had already played).
Second, the teenagers have neglectful parents even though they live in a small Texas town. I enjoyed the portrayal of Heather's family life because it added realism to the series but everyone else was just too hedonistic. Speaking of parents, there was a minute trope with the black father and son about their actions having consequences ("being watched") thrown in the show to sound "woke", lol. Despite this show not having any other racial connotations, I am not sure why that segment was necessary.
Finally, no one dies except the crooked sheriff. I was expecting some plot twist with a surprise death or series of events - the plot was too predictable. There were slight buildups in the show, but the climaxes of the buildups were anti-climatic.
Additionally, If anyone can guess who wins the money at the end the game before reading the next paragraph, give yourself a clap on the back.
Heather, the protagonist, wins everything! I bet many of y'all guessed she would win from the moment she entered the game. Anyways, from the ending of the final episode, season 2 will "continue" the game, so let's see what happens if it comes out.
