Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter (1968)
Very Corny period piece
This film is only worth watching for the period street scenes of how London and Manchester used to look. The actual story line is corny beyond belief and the songs are truely woeful which might explain why Hermans Hermits were no longer getting big hits .
The fact that Peter and boys were all owners of greyhound and thought that was a better prospect than forming a band speaks volumes about their demise as pop stars. What is also obvious that no one really knows who the band member really were as its totally Peter Noone driven and supposed to appeal to his deminishing fanbase.
The movie naturally contains the obligatory party scene with crazy guests and far out groovy happenings which only seem to have existed in the minds of movie makers as i have yet to meet a single person who ever attended anything like it at the time.
All in all, its an innocent piece of movie fluff that was being churned out by the time.
The Cuckoo Patrol (1967)
Terrible Film
Being a fan of sixties music and the associated bands, I wondered how I had missed this film. I now know why, its rubbish. It must have sunk without trace on its release.
Whilst there is stella cast of fine comedic talents, they are wasted in this turkey. Makes me wonder how much they got paid and was it worth it.
