Snowpiercer: Bound by One Track (2022)
This was a filler but I still enjoyed it
This episode was pretty much a filler but sometimes episodes like these are important so we can get emotional development on characters. Seeing Melanie again (even as a ghost) was really great and hope to see her soon alive and well. Latent still proves that he's a terrible leader and should be replaced. Xara has got me up the wall but what else is new. The relationship with Puke and Ruth was very cute as well. Regardless while I know it's unpopular, I still enjoyed this episode.
Snowpiercer: The First Blow (2022)
Great and satisfying episode
This was a really great episode, the best we've gotten this season imo. I was very happy that we didn't have a premonition thus episode. This was very action packed and seeing wilford get taken down was extremely satisfying. Felt a little rushed but I'm not sure if that's budget related or not. Once again Layton proves that he is not a good leader at all, he's great with a resistance, but he should never lead. Layton having Asha lie to all the passengers makes him no better than Wilford. Does this make the show bad? No. It just better proves the point that someone else should be in charge. Regardless great episode and I'm really intrigued to see where Ashas story goes and hope to see Melanie soon.
Snowpiercer: The Last to Go (2022)
Great episode! Just not a fan of Eden
This was another great episode. Ruth was a total badass, Wilford was even crazier, and the ending of the episode gives a lot of things to look forward to. Asha seems to be an interesting character. She 100% shouldn't ne trusted as she's been alone for so long (so she claims) and there's no one to back up anything she says. A lot can happen with her so I'm curious to see where her character goes. My only problem with this episode was once again the visions Latent is seeing. I really hope this isn't going in the direction I think it's going. Snowpiercer has always been the show that relies on science and while I don't have a problem with religion being implemented in shows, it's weird how it's being put in a show like this. This could just be a lazy way of foreshadowing but in the meantime I'm a little worried. Other than that this was a great episode. Can't wait for what comes next!
Shingeki no Kyojin: Memories of the Future (2022)
Eren
So...it's been Eren all along. Its not often where you watch a show that has such well thought out writing. From the beginning it's been planned out and we didn't even realize. We ridiculed Grisha for doing all that he did Eren only to find out it was Eren that made him do these horrible things. Zeke doesn't want to give up on Eren and believes he's just brainwashed but in the end we see that Eren has always been the same. The moment when Eren kissed Historias hand changed everything for him. From the beginning it's been Eren that's pulled the strings even on himself. Isayama is a real genius. Can't wait to see what's next to come.
House of Anubis (2011)
Childhood show that can still be enjoyed 10 years later
I've been doing a rewatch of this show on Paramount+ because its been 10 years it aired and about 7 years since I last watched it. The thing that made this show so great for its time was that it was the first time Nickelodeon released something that didn't overuse a laugh track. Despite it being a remake, it still bad it's qaulities. Yeah it could be a bit cringe sometimes but other than its flaws, still was an enjoyable rewatch.
Cowboy Bebop: Darkside Tango (2021)
Cowboy Bebop: Noir Style
This was definitly a fun episode. We got to see Jets backstory adapted and they did it well with the good old noir style. I loved that they stayed true to how Jet lost his arm and I totally appreciate that. We also got some bonding time with Spike and Faye and the usual story progression for Vicous and Julia as they prepare for the coup. At this point in the story I can tell they're going in a different direction then what most fans wanted. Although it's dissapointing in interested to see where this leads. Witherway this was fun episode that I definitly enjoyed.
Cowboy Bebop: Callisto Soul (2021)
Yet another fun episode
This episode was great, was a nice and fun bounty and we finally got to see a lot of Faye. Her changes weren't my favorite but honestly she's growing on me. Definitely a likeable character and I can't wait to see where thy go with her amnesia. This episode adapted the episode where we originally meet Faye but with a little spin of things. Not too much to say on this one as this more of a introductory episode rather than a story based episode. Once again the visuals and cinematography were spot on and have been a great comment to the show. Overall a great and fun episode.
Cowboy Bebop: Dog Star Swing (2021)
Classical jazzy ass-kicking
Alright...you have me. I'm done worrying about how accurate the show is to the anime because it's clear that while it's sticking to the routes of the anime, it's also trying to expand on different ideas. This episode was a fun one. We get to Spike and Jet on their usual bounty while also progressing with the story, mainly with Vicous and Julia. We are definitly seeing a different version of the two but pretending this isn't an adaptation, it's fine. It also brought on everyone's favorite good boy, Ein. Although his introduction wasn't the same, it was one I could appreciate. We also get to see the background on Jet and his ex-wife. This being another change I'm not 100% on it but from a regular perspective, it's fine. Finally the cinematography and visuals steal the show again. The scene where Spike is hanging on the building and smoking a cigarette was truly a highlight. Overall this episode was one to enjoy.
Cowboy Bebop: Venus Pop (2021)
Fun, but what are we doing here?
So the episode overall was a pretty fun and enjoyable watch. It seems the adaptation side of things is getting a bit messy. They've completely changed Grens character which I'm not a fan of. Spike is...kind of a dick. I do appreciate that they're trying to focus more on his emotion towards Julia. Speaking of which, I'm not a huge fan of the direction it seems they're going with Vicious. As a show alone it's good. As an adaptation it's starting to get messy. We'll see where this goes and I'll review as I go on. Whatever happens, happens.
Cowboy Bebop: Cowboy Gospel (2021)
I can appreciate where they're doing
So I just watched the episode and honestly I enjoyed it. The cinematography and visuals were great and definitely the best part of the episode. The score is as wonderful as ever although the placement was a bit off. Now as an adaptation is where it gets interesting. It's sticking to original routes and I appreciate that. Asimov's and Katrina's story was the same and they both met the same poetic end. The actor for Jet is great and is definitely the best adapted character of three, hell he even sounds like him. I am however not a fan of the fact that he has a daughter but we'll see where that goes. John Cho was an interesting choice for Spike. So far he seems like a good actor for him but we'll see. They seem to be focusing a lot emotionally wise for spike regarding Julia which I like. Fayes introduction is a bit odd. Definitely not the same from the series and is a different take on her character. My biggest problem here is what they're doing with Vicious and Julia. Making them lovers? Definitely not the direction I love but we'll see. Overall enjoyment wise it's an 8/10
For an adaptation? 6.5/10.
What If...?: What If... Thor Were an Only Child? (2021)
It was okay
It was just a fun comedic episode that you turn your brain off for.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Hated on way more than it should be.
When I watched I thought it was a very cool, unique, and overall fun movie to watch. It brings new material to the zombie movie genre and it thought it was perfect. Definitely not the terrible movie everyone is making it out to be. I totally recommend giving it a watch.
