This movie takes place in a remote Alaskan village, in a landscape that is bleak and stunning at the same time. Two lonely souls-both outsiders, in a sense-meet here and slowly fall in love. One is a native of East Germany who works as the village librarian. The other is a young transgender man, abandoned at birth, obsessed with finding his biological parents. There is also an excellent supporting cast portraying the people who live in this small town, fighting the rough environment and finding happiness and fun where they can. The plot is filled with twists, sadness, and even comedy-and the Alaskan scenery is breathtaking.

In Albania, young Hana follows an ancient custom that allows her to live as a man. She does this to escape the restrictions and dangers girls in her society face. However, despite the freedom and rights she gets as a man, she is also expected to forego love in any form. After ten years she moves to Italy to join her family-and begins to wonder what being a woman in a more tolerant country would be like. This film moves slowly. It isn't for you if you are looking for adventure and action. But if you enjoy the spectacular beauty of nature and a plot that involves a woman's awakening to who she really is, then you will enjoy "Sworn Virgin."

Angela is happily married, despite the fact that her husband cheated on her once, a decade ago. When she reads some suspicious texts and discovers an earring, she immediately thinks he is cheating again-and has a revenge encounter with Franco, hubby's accountant. What she doesn't know is that Franco is a psychopath who isn't exactly a good sport when he's dumped. He slowly, coldly, and methodically plans the ruin of Angela's life-and soon she is living in terror. As my headline says, this movie will make you think twice about having a one night stand!
