Ned Kelly (2003)
Fantastic Film
Ned Kelly is a fantastic film that i suggest you see. I own it on DVD and have watched it several times. I found it to be a well produced, well thought out film. One of it greatest aspects is that the producers have put in quite a decent amount of effort to make it true to history, most of the things in the film did happen in real life. Also it features fantastic cimeatography with many aspects of the Australian landscape show cased. THe music is also good, it is used mostly to set the mood and is not over the top as in some films. A lot of the music in the film is soft piano background music which compliments the film instead of taking over as music can do in some films. Overall a fantasitc movie and highly recommended.
Crackerjack (2002)
Unique
Crackerjack is another classic Aussie film. As so many Australian films like The Castle, The Dish and Sunday Too Far Away, it goes somewhere that hasn't been widely explored in film before, this time it is the game of Lawn Bowls and bowling clubs. Crackerjack is a much slower paced sports movie than many you will find such as Remember the Titans or Million Dollar Babybut the characters involved are athletes in their own right. This movie is a show case of a large area of Australian culture and features a sport that is popular and on the rise of popularity in Australia. Mick Molloy presents a classic, unforgettable character. It really is a must see.
The Ferals (1994)
Love It
I love The Ferals so much i wish i could get it on DVD. It was on two summers ago in the holidays and i watched it every day. It was great to relive my child hood because before that i don't think that it had been on TV for like 5 years. One of the old classics. If it ever becomes available on DVD or video or online or anything i suggest you get it. It is the classic children's humor that is funny for adults too without too many double innuendos. However it was spoiled when the Ferals became Feral TV and only lasted 5 minutes. It was a shadow of the original show with the same characters but none of the humor, originality or charm.
