"I made the mistake of not coming after you once. I'm not gonna do that again, no matter how brave you are."
29 July 2022
What's It About?: Hallie Parker and Annie James are identical twins separated at birth because of their parents' divorce. Unknowingly to their parents, the girls are discover each other for the first time at summer camp and make a plan to bring their wayward parents back together.

Who's In It?: Lindsay Lohan, Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson, Elaine Hendrix, Lisa Ann Walter, Simon Kunz, Polly Holliday, Maggie Wheeler, Ronnie Stevens, Joanna Barnes, Hallie Meyers-Shyer, Maggie Emma Thomas, Courtney Woods, Kat Graham, and many more.

Omg, what a coincidence! Today is the 24th anniversary of this movie's release in the United States. πŸŽ‰ And here I am, rewatching it. πŸ˜€

"The Parent Trap" is one of the best summer movies you can ever watch during the hottest and happiest time of the year especially with your whole family. πŸ’• Ever since my first-time viewing of this film on vacation, it has quickly become one of my comfort movies. I have a big feeling that this will be one of my go-to films whenever I'm feeling down or if I want to rewatch it again. Being so light, touching, romantic, and very funny, "The Parent Trap" helped Lindsay Lohan build up a huge career for herself as she plays the incredibly likable and cute twins and her performance is so iconic. ✨

Alan Silvestri's score was also the icicle on the cake as his music sounded so heartfelt, fun and beautiful. 😌🎢 "The Parent Trap" is full of adventure and romance, and both elements work evenly each other on every level. Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid were also really good as the divorced parents as the twins try to reunite the whole family together from the very famous photo of them on the Queen Elizabeth ship they have found when at camp. This is such an easy, simple watch when you're feeling down and want some family-fun adventure. Overall, watching "The Parent Trap" for the first time has lifted my spirits and will continue to watch it again to get my sadness out the window. 😊

Ms. Marvel (2022)

"Good is not a thing you are. It's a thing you do."
28 July 2022
1) What's It About?: Kamala Khan is an excellent student who also enjoys playing video games and writing fan fiction. She has a huge soft spot for superheroes, especially Captain Marvel. It's difficult for her to fit in, though, both at school and at home - that is, until she achieves superpowers like that of the superheroes she has always admired. With superpowers, life must be simpler, right?

2) Who's In It?: Iman Vellani, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Schroff, Yasmeen Fletcher, Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Samina Ahmed, Nimra Bucha, Alysia Reiner, Anjali Bhimani, Aramis Knight, Arian Moayed, Laurel Marsden, and many more.

Ok, I finally finished this show.

Well... such a waste of potential!

3) When watching the trailer, I assumed this was going to be different because it looked like it was aimed at a much younger audience. And it was.

4) Cool graphics and design at the start, and then just a whole lot of... you know, bad writing...

5) Episodes 1 and 2 were ok. Breaths of fresh air that broke the Marvel formula with creativity and unique visuals. And then this show just completely fell off, in terms of artistic flare, storytelling, visuals, and action. Story beats are introduced but never utilised. Some story beats disappear for several episodes in a row. The camerawork becomes laughably bad. The Red Daggers suck in every regard. People and antagonists just appear randomly.

Anyways, Kamala isn't really a compelling character to me, but Iman Vellani does a pretty good job of being basically a younger female Spider-Man.

6) The villains of this show were awful!

Probably my least favourite villains in the MCU. Yes, even below Malekith. There are way too many unimportant scenes with her family and friends, and almost no scenes of her training and learning about her powers. Which is the thing I'm most excited about in superhero origin stories. The best thing this show had going for it was its visual style. Sadly, it almost completely disappeared after the first episode and up until the very last episode.

7) Stories need to be interesting, and not feel like a waste of time. This didn't need to be dragged out to 6 episodes. Marvel, you're not going to make me care just by giving this story to a minority character.

8) Oh, and sometimes the visual effects were really weird. Like they'd full digital double Ms. Marvel when they really didn't need to? And the hard light powers never looked grounded because they're so wacky.

9) I liked the finale, seeing the community all come together to protect Kamala.

The conversation between Kamala and her dad is a satisfying final scene. To me, it seems that Disney was so desperate to get Kamala in the MCU that they rushed the writing.

Honestly, the post-credits scene in Episode 6 was the most exciting moment of the whole show. The cameo from "you know who" if you watched the final episode was not a surprise, but I didn't like the way the cameo showed up. It didn't make any sense. Hopefully it will be explained.

10) Did you know? In April 2022, creator Sana Manat announced that the entire show would be released in Pakistani cinemas, beginning on June 16, 2022. This is due to the unavailability of Disney+ in Pakistan and to honor the hero's roots.

The Scorecard: Direction: 2/10 Acting: 3/10 Story & Screenplay: 1/10 Editing & Pacing: 2/10 Visuals & Cinematography: 3/10 Sound & Music: 1/10 Personal Enjoyment: 2/10 Overall Rating: 3/10.

"It was never my job to make you feel like a man. I can't make you something you're not."

1) What's It About?: Rachel Chu, an American-born Chinese NYU professor, travels with her boyfriend, Nick to his hometown of Singapore for his best friend's wedding. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick's family, Rachel's unprepared to learn Nick has missed to mention a few key details about himself. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ²

2) Who's In It?: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan, Lisa Wu, Awkwafina, Harry Shum Jr., Ken Jeong, Sonoya Mizuno, Chris Pang, Jimmy O. Yang, Ronny Chieng, Remy Hii, Nico Santos, and many more.

3) I watched this movie on an airplane πŸ›©

4) The cast! Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan, and the hilarious Awkwafina delivered an outstanding performance. I think they carried this movie.

5) Finally a movie where Asians aren't doing Kungfu or solving math equations. 😜

6) I have mixed feelings about this movie. Let's just say I found this pretty average. There were bits that made me laugh, but overall, I was bored.

7) πŸ€” The film was meh... and really??? Two hours? That's a bit much, don't you think? It should have taken 90 minutes at most. Glad some of you enjoyed it though. πŸ™ƒ

8) When Michelle Yeoh said: You will never be enough I felt THAT

9) It's a must watch for people who love the romantic comedy genre.

The Scorecard: Direction: 5/10 Acting: 7/10 Story & Screenplay: 4/10 Editing & Pacing: 5/10 Visuals & Cinematography: 3/10 Sound & Music: 2/10 Personal Enjoyment: 5/10 Overall Rating: 5/10.

"Silenzio, Bruno! That's just the dumb voice in your head."
20 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
1) What's It About?: Two young boys experience an unforgettable Italian summer, enjoying gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. But all the fun is put at risk by a deeply held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just beneath the water's surface.

2) Who's In It?: Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, Emma Berman, Saverio Raimondo, Maya Rudolph, Marco Barricelli, Jim Gaffigan, Peter Sohn, Lorenzo Crisci, Marina Massironi, Luigi La Monica, Sandy Martin, Giacomo Gianniotti, and many more.

3) This is such a lovely, colorful, and heartwarming movie! Makes me forget about the complications of life and what's currently going on in the world. <3 Such a great family film! Definitely a must-see for Disney and Pixar fans!

4) The movie contains inspiring messages: 1 - Step out of your comfort zone & experience life outside your bubble.

2 - Fight your fears and take risks to gain knowledge and enjoy life.

3 - Accommodate with others even though you're different. You don't have to be like them to succeed.

After watching this movie, whenever my subconscious mind sends me fears messages, I will say "Silenzio Bruno!"

5) "Some people, they'll never accept him. But some will. And he seems to know how to find the good ones."

"There's a million things you think you can't do. All you need is a chance to try."

Every Pixar movie has amazing lines like these <3

6) The cinematography and aesthetics are stunning, as well as a very good plot with great characters.

7) Paris = Ratatouille Mexico = Coco New York City = Soul Italy = Luca Colombia = Encanto And many others!

Disney's (or Pixar's) exploring the world and its individual unique cultures!

8) Who else would LOVE to live in a town like that?? It is so wonderful! <3

9) When Luca called Alberto a sea monster in front of the other kids, that broke my heart. :( And the ending :( Alberto sacrificed his Vespa and plan to travel around the world, just for Luca to go to school :( I swear Alberto is more like a brother than a friend to Luca cause he'll do anything to make him happy <3 I really wanna see how people are reacting and crying in the theater in person.

10) Italian vibes are the grooviest & the story is so delightful.

Vespas, friendship, freedom <3

11) Luca is a beautifully animated fairy tale, not only about friendship, but it also reveals the problem of non-acceptance by society. To sum up, I just want to go to sunny Italy right now <3

The Scorecard: Direction: 8/10 Acting: 9/10 Story & Screenplay: 9/10 Editing & Pacing: 9/10 Visuals & Cinematography: 10/10 Sound & Music: 6/10 Personal Enjoyment: 8/10 Overall Rating: 8/10.

"Don't you ever stop dreaming"
18 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
1) What's It About?: Determined to fulfill a promise to his daughters, Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) tries for 20 years to obtain the rights to author P. L. Travers' (Emma Thompson) beloved book. Armed with his iconic creative vision, Walt pulls out all the stops, but the uncompromising Travers won't budge. Only when he reaches into his own complicated childhood does Walt discover the truth about the ghosts that haunt Travers, and together, they set Mary Poppins free!

2) Who's In It?: Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Ruth Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Bradley Whitford, Annie Rose Buckley, B. J. Novak, Kathy Baker, Lily Bigham, Melanie Paxson, Andy McPhee, Rachel Griffiths, and many more.

3) I watched this movie for the first time last night and I can't stop thinking about it. It was wonderful.

4) Is it weird that I love this film more than the actual "Mary Poppins"? After seeing this movie, it really changes your view of "Mary Poppins".

5) This movie touched me in so many ways. The emotions and acting were superb! I couldn't get the part where her father dies out of my head, it hit me right in the feels.

6) Tom Hanks was a perfect choice to play Walt Disney. (funfact: Walt Disney is Hanks' distant cousin) I would really like to see another movie with Tom Hanks as Walt Disney. Maybe a movie about Walt Disney's career?

7) Emma Thompson not getting at least an Oscar nomination for this film was just criminal. Excellent performance.

8) Colin Farrell is an amazing actor. How he captured me and pulled me into this movie. It was quite scary though because you kinda think of your dad like this. Which my dad isn't! But it's still touching :(

  • Don't leave me.

  • Never. I promise, I will never leave you.

Oh my, I cried so much for this scene :"(

9) Just imagine being able to go to Disneyland with Walt Disney himself.

10) Geez, the part where she's crying at the premiere makes me so sad.

11) Ending feels sudden.

12) Even though this movie is not accurate in some things, it still reminds us why we love that Disney magic.

The Scorecard: Direction: 9/10 Acting: 10/10 Story & Screenplay: 9/10 Editing & Pacing: 10/10 Visuals & Cinematography: 9/10 Sound & Music: 7/10 Personal Enjoyment: 10/10 Overall Rating: 10/10.

Boring πŸ˜•
12 July 2022
I lost count of how many fight scenes there were. This movie had potential, but didn't use it.

But one thing is certain: Dominic Cooper as a villain >>> 😏 I would like to see him in this role, but in a refreshed version of the film, with a different plot and maybe with Emilia Clarke as the main character (no offense for Joey King, I just wish to see a version with a different actress)

Unconventional, Creative, Imaginative, and Fun!
12 July 2022
Marvel: after 14 years of building our cinematic universe, we are finally ready to dive into the madness that is the multiverse. Can anyone make it cooler than us?

A24: hold my googly eyes πŸ‘€

I don't think I could explain this movie, but I cried when I watched it. This movie is something you experience, not watch.

The cinematography and editing are phenomenal! ✨

I think there might have been a bit too many fight scenes, but it is an absolutely fantastic film with so many wonderful lessons to be learned. Inspirational and moving.

It's a unique experience that I'm very grateful for me in this universe that I chose to see it.

This literally just made my day πŸ˜€
9 June 2022
This made me teary-eyed, I'm not British, but I have a huge respect and admiration for Her Majesty, what an incredible woman she is. Paddington is the kindest bear in the world, and he deserved to meet the queen. This was beautiful. πŸ’–

STUNNING 😍
25 May 2022
Sam Raimi brought a new tone to the MCU, and it felt so different and good. He delivers a film that's visually spectacular and energetic in ways no other Marvel film has been. ✨ His horror roots are also on display in some very satisfying ways. πŸ˜€

Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange is as charismatic as ever and continued to be impressive in this role.

No one could have played Scarlet Witch as amazing as Elizabeth Olsen. Her transformation from a lovely mother figure to someone who's evil and depressed is really convincing.

As expected from MCU, the cinematography is breathtaking with visuals that are reminiscent of the colorful panels of comic books.

I don't like the soundtrack that much, but "Lethal Symhonies" with excerpts from Beethoven's symphony no. 5 in C major and Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor was quite impressive. Overall, I like the soundtrack from the previous part more. 🎢

I think that it should have been 20 minutes longer so that the scenes could breathe a little more and that there is more of an emotional connection in the film. The visuals alone were certainly worth the visit to the theatre. 😊

THERE'S A PLACE FOR US πŸ’•
6 May 2022
It's perfect in every way! The music is wonderful, it was brilliantly cast, absolute art! 😍 Rachel Zegler and Ariana DeBose killed it! πŸ‘

Probably one of the most times i've ever cried throughout a movie. The second half is just emotional gut punch followed by I Feel Pretty followed by emotional gut punch. 😒

I'd probably say this is my favourite movie musical. Is it criticized by people? Yes. Is it iconic? Yes. Do I still watch it at least once a month? Yes. πŸ˜€

Personal highlights from this film for me are Balcony Scene (Tonight), America, Tonight (Quintet) and I Feel Pretty, but all songs are beautiful. I've had the soundtrack on repeat since the premiere and I've seen it at the cinema 4 times. 😌🎢

Thank you, Spielberg, for creating this masterpiece! πŸ’•

ONE DAY MOREEEE!!!!!!!!!!
6 May 2022
This is an incredible movie with incredible music and an incredible cast! One of my favourite musicals 😍 "In My Life", "A Heart Full Of Love", "On My Own", "One Day More", and "Do You Hear The People Sing"? Are my favorite songs. 😌🎢

Hugh Jackman really shines here, so does Anne Hathaway, they all gave a good acting job through singing. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ I'd want to call attention to Eddie Redmayne and his vibrato because I had no idea he could sing beautifully. 😍 Amanda Seyfried is great, but I prefer Judy Kuhn's Cosette. People say Russell Crowe sounds weird, but I'm gonna tell them this: everyone sang with vibrato and emotions - and he, with the simple, upright sound, contrasted with the others, which gave Javert dignity and grace. πŸ˜€ And the most important: they all sang live - and it is amazing!
