Space (1985)
Soap Opera, with some Space
This series could give a run for their money, any of the daytime soap operas. Space coverage is thrown in, here and there, just enough to keep the viewer from changing channel.
The Dig (2021)
Slow, many/long distractions
A good narrative stays on the message, with few distractions. This one doesn't. Not only it moves slowly, it has too many distractions.
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
Good but...
It is too long, could be shortened by about an hour.
The Departed (2006)
Hokey ending
Martin Scorcese is a cult film-maker like Woody Allen. Notwithstanding this, he has made good movies ("Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore", "Cape Fear") same as Allen has ("The Sleeper"). But both in the long run have generally ended up making neurotic movies of compulsive characters. The ending of "The Departed" was hokey. Seeing it made me long for Alec Baldwin's character to shoot up Mark Wahlberg's. And then for Martin Scorcese (in cameo) to do in Alec Baldwin's. And finally for the audience to stone Scorcese's screen image to a pulp! Alas! Martin missed doing an all-time classic ending! The movie did well at the box office and at video rentals due to the cult following but also (more importantly?) due to the talented cast.
