The 355 (2022)
Not another worst movie, and no annoying overused scene.
I'm always hungry for an action/thriller because I am sick of the boring dramas that are constantly pumped out. The one good thing I can about this movie is that is was not boring. Its not a very good movie, but if you want a mindless popcorn movie its worth the watch. I gave it an extra star because the following night I watched West Side Story, and this one was more entertaining.
West Side Story (2021)
Very disappointed
I was expecting much more from this movie, I was very disappointed because it was supposed to be so great. I found it very boring, I kept checking how much time was left. Not enough singing and dancing for a musical. The female actors were well cast, the male ones not so much. And why did Chino wear glasses if he didn't actually need them?
On the Rocks (2020)
It's not another worst film (and it's not full of annoying overuse scene)
This was a somewhat enjoyable film that just drags too much. Bill Murry is fascinating to watch and Rashida Jones is enjoyable but there just isn't enough going on.
Lost in Space (2018)
Ugh
Started season three because I couldn't decide on anything else to watch. Season 1 was ok, and season 2 was tolerable although it ended poorly. The first episode of season 3 was so stupid that I can't continue. The characters have just become more and more annoying, and I am so sick of Dr. Smith and everyone's willingness to give her another chance and blindly believe her lies.
Station Eleven (2021)
So boooooring and pointless
I forced myself to finish this snooze fest on the hope that somehow there would be something redeeming by the ending. This is an example as to why I've become hesitant to start a new series, more often than not they are a disappointment, even if they are supposedly highly rated. None of the characters in this thing are likeable, you simply don't care about any of them. The whole premise that all the friends, family and acquaintances of a particular actor survive a deadly pandemic and then encounter each other in the wilderness is ridiculous. And the aging makeup is horrendous, everyone looks like a young person with a wig on.
The King's Man (2021)
It's not another worst movie (and no annoying overuse scene)
I was disappointed in this because I enjoyed the first two films. It couldn't figure out if it wanted to be serious or a cartoon and it was way too long and slow paced. The main villain, in addition to being the head of a criminal organization, was the top adviser to a top British general. Did nobody notice his extended absences? This was during WWI, you couldn't just hop on a jet, or set up a zoom call. It would take him days to get to his secret hideout and back again.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
It's not another worst movie (and there's no annoying overuse scene)
Watch it for the action scenes, because that is all there is. Forget about the story and wait for the next fight. The underlying story is unoriginal and uninspired. I understand Disney did this to get a pat on the back, but they need to slow down and focus on making better movies.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
It's not another worst movie, but it's awfully close (and there's no annoying overuse scene)
This could be the dumbest movie I've ever seen. It's like they were making it up as they went along. You could say "but it's a children's movie", but there are plenty of scenes that could be considered too disturbing for children. It's well cast though, even though everyone's just hamming it up.
Kimi (2022)
It's not another worse movie (and there's no annoying overuse scene)
It's a low key, but oddly engrossing flick. Usually I'm bored by movies like this, but I found this enjoyable. There's no mystery here, you find out early on who the villains are and it ends predictably; it's just about how it gets there. It was also refreshing to see a movie based in Seattle that was actually filmed in Seattle.
The Lost Daughter (2021)
Not another worst movie. And no annoying overuse scene.
But it is another dull slowmoving drama. Not a bad movie but its difficult to stay interested. Main character is depressing but its unclear why since she doesn't seem to regret the things making her depressed.
Reacher (2022)
Entertaining show.
Sure its corny and the villians are cartoonish, but it was entertaining. Fun mindless action. Certainly better than the boring uninteresting dramas that the streaming services have been dumping on us lately.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Garbage
This movie was worse than I expected it to be. Tried to be a buddy flick, but their banter was just annoying. Nothing more to say, I don't know why I have to stretch it to 150 characters.
Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (2021)
Disappointing
This is a documentry of why the concert happened, not of the concert itself. It features just short clips of performences. Maybe someone will release a film of the actual festival so we can enjoy the performers.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Decent movie
I liked the movie. It held my attention, which seems to be a rare feat these days for dramas. However, I am dinging it for the pathetic attempt to represent Seattle. I wish there was a big beautiful white bridge to cross when driving from Seattle to Snohomish but there would have to be a body of water to put it over first. If you want to use landmarks from other places, just set the movie in that place and don't make a fool of yourself.
Encounter (2021)
Disappointing
The movie was ok, but was not as promised. This was not a sci-fi, alien invasion movie. I was looking forward to a popcorn movie about aliens, but this was just a standard drama.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
Extremely boring.
Even though the ending is satisfying, it doesn't justify the 2 hours of boredom. I couldn't tell you how many times I checked how much time was left in the movie.
Hanna (2019)
Should have stopped at season 2
Seasons 1 & 2 were good, but season 3 is too ridiculous. In season 3 armed solders freely roam the streets of Europe, shooting every thing up, with scores of them dying in the process, and no one notices, no police response at all.
Bruised (2020)
Long, boring and predictable
Movie was way too long and the underling story was one we've seen many times before. It had a hard time holding my interest. Movie overall seemed well done, it was just boring.
Red Notice (2021)
Better than expected
Very enjoyable romp. I didn't expect much from this movie but I was unexpectly entertained. I did give it an extra star to counteract the 1 star trolls.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Just Plain Silly
I'm not sure what to think of this movie. I suppose it is entertaining in its own way, but it all was just too ridiculous for me. It didn't feel like I was watching a western, it was just too fake.
The Vigil (2019)
A waste of 90 minutes.
Man sits around in the dark being afaid of noises and shadows. The one time he switches on a light switch to check out a disturbance, he immediately switches it off again. I think I saw this in a Geico commercial. They obviously couldn't come up with an ending, so he just kills the demon, no problem.
The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
This is supposed to be a classic?
I don't understand. This could be the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Everything is utterly ridiculous. The acting is atrocious. I keep wondering if it is supposed to be a comedy.
The Marksman (2021)
Better than expected
Enjoyable but in the end, sad film. Liam has a role where he can act his age, which is a plus (no sex with hot women half his age). You care about the characters. Sure, it is a bit contrived, but you need to have a story. But it has a bittersweet ending.
Malignant (2021)
Really stupid but oddly entertaining
Yes, this was bad (purposely bad?), but not really any worse than almost anything else streaming nowadays.
