Well, well here is the ruined end of an emblematic series, I am disappointed but also glad that this mess IS over.
As I suspected, no important death, except Rosita, but hey, here's what, Rosita is a bit like Aaron, a character who could have been more interesting if only the director had allowed him to shine, so apart from killing a few lambdas who we don't give a damn about, we slap you the death of Rosita, an endearing protagonist but who has always remained in the shadow of the big names in the cast. Rosita since season 4 it will have been: Be beautiful and shut up, sleep with him, then him too, and in the end... Die!
Let's talk about Rosita, her Fall from the snack bar it's nonsense, I burst out laughing following this scene, the girl OK she has her child in front of her, she lets go then she falls, gets fully covered by zombies and then suddenly she shoots a bullet, 1 zombie head bursts and all the other zombies get back up (Kamel Ouali choreography), but WTF, then she gets back up and happens to be the reincarnation of Jet Li as the fall should have writhed her in pain, like breaking her back (with the weight of her child on top). This scene is hilarious...
Judith saved by Darryl when her transfusion lasted 20 seconds to blow up everything, and again I'm wide on the timer. It's a joke, seriously.
The ULTIMATE conversation between Maggie and Negan, conversation that happens towards the end when it should have taken place a long time ago, it's late filling the episode when they could have done the final flashback slower and sent style "go on, we'll wrap it up quickly and we'll talk about it more"...
... While the Flashback is precisely THE thing we were all waiting for, that in the grand finale on shows us all those who have died since the beginning, there the images pass too quickly, it does not create any emotion in the end it's so much too fast, and it would also have deserved to have more nostalgic and melancholic music, if only to give us chills by retracing the course of the series. I even have the impression that they forgot characters in their flashback, it went so quickly I didn't catch Dale, Merle and T-Dog for example
The only good thing about the episode, and which we all also expected, is this conversation between Darryl and Carole, with a more extroverted Darryl, who FINALLY sticks his fingers out of his ass to admit to Carole that he likes, followed by a Carole who answers the same. Damn, even if they are the best friends in the world of TWD... It was time to admit it, I admit that it was very well placed during the episode.
In the end I stay on my End and on my Hunger, it ends with a rotten cliffhanger, so it's clearly not an acceptable end to the series but more a "To be continued" which is relatively annoying, rather than ending in beauty and give us a promo for the sequel with Michonne and Rick by just doing a post-credits scene, no, as usual, the still incompetent director had to send it quickly, badly done, so that after 11 years of this series, both grandiose and crappy depending on the season, the circle is definitely not complete.
Very disappointed, an horrible final for me but it was quite expected. I wont watch the spin off because i think i got better things to do...
