Red (2008)

Almost like good ole western movie
9 May 2011
Old Ludlow is an ex soldier. He took horrible blows along the way but survives and now live peacefully with his dog, Red. Then in an unfortunate day a teenager shots it in the head for no apparent reason.

Ludlow, wants justice.

It is apparently a high mountain to climb. But his soldier mentality keep him going. "As long I have something in my hand, I will keep fighting. Because if I stop, the world will rolling over me." And being old, he is a wiser man, despite the incident had cut open his old wound, he stays cool.

"Red" is not a violent movie, nor it needs some cgi visualization. Everything is measured and well act, you'll think its real.

They don't make this kind of movie anymore, not because its hard to made, but because they don't get megabucks out of it.

So, if you have the opportunity, don't let this rare gem passed.

Bedways (2010)

I don't know yet. That's what we're trying to discover
9 May 2011
Bedways shows you a female movie director shooting a rehearsal for a movie she's still looking for a producer. But we don't know what exactly she is up to, and so the actor and actress she's working with. She just keep telling them to have sex.

After half an hour of the movie, the "actress" asks: "what's this all about?" And the answer is: "I don't know yet. That's what we're trying to discover." So, that could be the director's message, why a movie should be about something?

There are three main characters in Bedways, all of them looks depressed and bored. Dialogues are disjointed, questions left unanswered or replied by irrelevant sentences, in one point we even get a one way conversation.

I try to find anything good about this movie. At first I think the lighting is good, but then they blew it over the top. And the sex scenes are aplenty, but kind of turn you off. So, I think Bedways just gives the Indie film a bad impression.

Martyrs (2008)

Bloods.. Beaten..
23 April 2011
First of all I'm not a movie-making student nor interested in that area, I just watching movies to be "entertained" regardless the country it came from, how it made, who made it and the actors/actress play in it.

And Martyr doesn't "entertained" me.

I don't know what it is all about. I can't categorized it, is it a thriller, horror or a mystery. All I got is a lot of bloods and noises, without any reason.

Naturally I'm baffling why it calls "Martyrs." "Bloods" or "Beaten" will sounds more sensical for me..
