Im Juli (2000)
Originale und Speziale!!!
from the moment i saw the intro to this film it just clicked with me immediately. The drama & cinematography of this movie just astounded me, i have always loved continental european movies, mainly from France, Germany or Spain, & this has not faltered at all. Daniel is a Hambürger searching for his "Sun/Sonne" or soul mate who is his soon to be love, Juli. Daniel & Juli travel to Istanbul to meet their "Sun" meeting & losing each other along the way. During this trek the movie has not failed in delivering a concious display of Eastern european culture. This movie is by no means as laid back as many other european dramas that are shown here in Sydney.
No mistake in my mind i give it a perfect 10 out of 10 The storyline, dialog & cinematography are outstanding, i'm speechless.
Fainaru fantajî X (2001)
Brand New Era For The Series
In the tenth installment of the series, Final Fantasy X introduces vocal dialog which is incredibly out outstanding, albeit the sync is not great.
STORY: Tidus is the Zanarkand Abes' star Blitzball player, when he is sucked 1000 years into the future he meets various friends & fiends from all over Spira. He joins Yuna, Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri & Rikku on a journey to defeat Sin, a destructive force that is threatening the living world. Along the way they participate in tasks such as Blitzball, visiting temples, butterfly catching & capturing fiends.
MOVIES: The computer generated movies have come a long way since Final Fantasy VII, in this edition you can view the movies along with the entire soundtrack in Luca. The movies, as always, capture the most intense moments of the game.
SOUNDTRACK: Most of the tracks from this game are incredible, such as Blitz Off! & Decision On The Dock, they are all illustrious creations.
RATING: I obviously rate this game 10/10 for the above reasons, it's expranded supremely since the last release.
Sitcom (1998)
Sublyme
I just saw this French movie on my local ethnic station & loved it! Although this movie isn't for the usual consumer of comedy, it spirals around many weird & taboo issues such as: Incest, Homosexuality, Depravity & Sadomasochism. Around all this is "the mother" who is naively caught up in her everyday routines to find the secrets her friends & family hold. I recommend this movie for 2 reasons: It's French & it's different.
Queen of the Damned (2002)
A Bit Of Everything
what is the point of this movie?, sure Aaliyah plays an extremely honourable role as Queen Akasha but the storyline seems a tad un-original. For some reason i love the awesome charisma it imposes in my mind. The most disappointing aspect of the feature film is that it "borrows" many ideas from other famous flicks (such as Rock Star, The Cell & concept of Buffy The Vampire Slayer).
Coyote Ugly (2000)
Oy, This is what New York is about!
i cannot emphasize my ecstatic love for this movie. Many factors influence my awe - Being set in Queens, it makes a great backdrop of Manhattan. It shows many insightful feelings & emotions which make New Yorkers extremely lovable. I also found one particular scene extremely absurd, Jersey backchats to Coyote's owner & instantly gets a job! If everything were that easy in today's world. Extremely worth watching! IT ALSO PROVIDES VIEWERS WITH A CAMEO OF OUR BELOVED WTC!
Wolf Lake (2001)
Craving For Wolves
I'm an Australian who recently visited the USA, Wolf Lake is or WAS the best show i've seen since Passions, i would like to see it return to America's primetime hour & Australia also. I was surprised to see Lou Diamond Phillips head this wonderful production, I was also happy to see Mary Elizabeth Winstead of Passions fame. This is a great show, not only about relationships, but that certain feeling you get when a good TV show comes along. I definitely rate this show 10 out of 10
The Faculty (1998)
Best Thriller Of The 90's
I'm quite an 80's music & movies buff, but The Faculty has to be the best thriller yet, it has a highly detailed screenplay, along with that *true* thriller feeling, combined with suspense (the first time you watched Freddy Kruger as a child). The storyline is competent & scientific, which makes it appealing to people of all ages.
