Nenunnanu (2004)
A bad movie except for great music by Keeravani
This is one of those movies that makes you wonder how it became such a super hit movie. It turned out to be the biggest hit among Nagarjuna's films.
The movie has a very old story that has been repeated in several old films. Worse is, the director choose to present it in old style. Probably, he tried to play it safe to appeal to village women! I think it sure did work for them as that's where the movie became a success.
Except for few comedy bits by Brahmanandam, Ali, and Sunil the movie has nothing to offer except outstanding music by MM Keeravani. Not one or two but several songs will get our attention for years to come.
The DVD released by iDream is of exceptional quality.
Shivamani (2003)
Comedy and music makes this an entertaining flick!
Couple of songs and comedy by AVS and Ali make this movie an entertainer while Nagarjuna seems to be getting better like wine with age. He never looked this charming before!
Asin is a pleasure to watch. Especially, when she smiles! The main weak point of the movie is the screenplay by the director. He lost grip over the story in the later part of the movie and ended it with ab abrupt ending!
Chakri music for Rama Rama and Mona Mona songs is excellent. He also scored excellent background music that excels when heard on DTS track.
The DVD released by iDream is of excellent quality and the DTS audio option makes it a worthy movie to watch!
Samba (2004)
Too much violence AND too much comedy!
JrNTR once again proved that people don't care how one appears or looks if they can act and dance well. It's unbelievable to see him move such a huge body with amazing ease and elegance.
The movie is about Rayalaseema factionism. The director Vinayak tried to make it a different one by presenting it with a message. A message to say education should be of outmost importance in once life. While it's an excellent message, the movie is presented with insane unwanted violence of kick chopped heads like football!
The comedy by Venu Madhav and Krishna Bhagawan is very close to the best we've seen in recent years. The music is dull but the screenplay by Vinayak makes the viewers interest till the end.
The DVD released by iDream is of decent quality while the audio rocks!
Missamma (2003)
A refreshing change!
A very interesting screenplay by Nelakanta glues you to this very nice movie. Except for a TV serial like start, the movie builds tempo and interest with surprising events and great music.
Bhoomika surprises with a performance filled role unlike her earlier movies who only wanted to show her cute face. Sivaji became an instant family star with his very nice performance while Laya got her best role after all these years.
Music and photography are the other highlights of the movie that is dominated by Neelakanta's excellent screenplay and direction.
The available iDream DVD is also of excellent quality!
Africa: The Serengeti (1994)
Amazing video, audio quality
This IMAX movie is a very interesting documentary. If you have big screen TV or digital TV, this is the one DVD you should own to enjoy stunning video quality. It also has great Dolby Digital Sound and will max out the Home Theater System to the fullest.
