The worst
28 February 2002
This was the worst movie I have ever seen! I went into the movie thinking it would be funny, because the trailer seemed funny! But after the 1st 5 minutes, I noticed that the only thing funny in the movie were the parts they put in the trailer. Mid way through the movie, I wanted to pull my hair out. I wanted to leave, but my family was in another movie, and I couldn't. EWWWW! Do not waste your $8 on this crappy movie, whoever made this movie needs to be shot!

Great Acting, bad plot.
29 October 2001
This movie could have been good, but, it had a horrible plot! As you can read from the description, you know what happens, but seeing it is even more heart-wrenching! The way things went about progressing throughout the movie, just worsened the plot!

It was, however, refreshing seeing so many singers (2 of the guys from Next) and Bizzy Bone in well-scripted roles. Their roles fit them perfectly. As a matter of fact, everyone's roles fit them, the story just shouldn't have been how it was. If this movie ever goes to the theaters, they'll have to make alot of changes. But, from the viewing I attended, I'm pretty sure it will go straight to video or BET. No matter the case, I would recommend watching it, because it was funny, although in places it shouldn't have been funny. And it'll have you talking about it, whether good or bad!

Smallville (2001–2017)
My new favorite show!
23 October 2001
I love this show! 1st, let me say, that I am a Superman fan from way back! Christopher Reeves was and is my all time super-hero! And this new Superman has what it takes to become my present day hero! He's just gorgeous, and he's got this quality that screams, "I am Superman!" I will forever love this show, if they stick to the comic, and truly follow the life of Superman and his relationship with Lex! I want to see their friendship grow, and then how it falls apart! Just Classic!

I just can't wait to see how the show will continue to grow and get better!

decent film
15 October 2001
Had the opportunity to see this movie at a free screening. So, that being said that I saw this for free, I thought the movie was okay. It was somewhat predictable, but still worth while. It's basically a movie about 4 childhood friends who get caught up in the drug game. They started off small time marijuana dealers and grow up to be the biggest coke dealers on Blue Hill Avenue.

The movie starts at the end, and then flashes back to their childhood. And it progresses on from childhood, back to where the movie started, and on from there. It's almost a typical drug/gangster movie. Except, the ending lacks character development and it doesn't explain why things happened the way they did. Also, there are scenes in the movie which are supposed to be serious, but somehow, they are hilarious.

And, for some reason, although I have my complaints about this movie, it's a good movie to have discussions about. I wish I could've taken more people with me to this screening, because I found myself talking about this movie days after I watched it.

So, even with its' flaws, when and if this movie ever comes to a theater near you, go see it, you'll at least laugh at the silliness that happens throughout!

And the actors really did a great job! It was great seeing Brandon Hammond (Ahmad from the movie Soul Food) in this movie, he did a great job.

Could have been better
8 October 2001
Sanaa was great, and would have shined if she would have had a better leading man. The scenes with she and Wesley Snipes looked forced and very unnatural(except for the scene at the refrigerator, which was nice). I may have had a better watching experience if I didn't have the book to compare it too, but that wasn't the case. The book is one of Terry McMillan's best books but the movie was making me cringe. The role of Franklin would have been better served with an actor like Morris Chestnut or Henry Simmons, someone a bit taller and better looking than the bald Snipes. Wesley Snipes with a bald head was nasty! And the movie, wasn't nasty, but it wasn't as good as it could have been!

Hilarious

This was 1 of the funniest Comedy performance movies I've seen since Raw! And, seeing this on DVD was even better because you get a chance to see DL Hughley's deleted scenes, which were so funny! All 4 men shined and were just awesome!
