The X Files: Darkness Falls (1994)
Drakness Falls Soon...
'Darkness Falls' has the same intensity of other equally gritty episodes like 'Ice' and 'Pusher'. This, personally, is a great episode with a interesting story-line by Chris Carter, the creator of this god-send of a intelligent TV show.
What make this dark and gritty episode so... skin crawling, is the fact that you feel like you are alone in the remote woods with very little chance getting out alive. Unless you wish to be bug food for ancient, intergalactic creepy-crawlies! Terrible jokes and puns aside, 'Darkness Falls' is a intelligent, claustrophobic story of survival. And, with out a shadow of a doubt, this episode has the works: excellent acting, strong story-line and great directing.
'Darkness Falls' will leave you wanting more... and your skin crawling.
The X Files: Ice (1993)
Don't Be So Cold...
This was truly a tense and dark episode. Excellently executed, wonderful acting and atmospheric directing, 'Ice' is one of my favorite episodes. Along with 'Pusher' 'Grotesque' 'Wetwired' and 'Home' (these are quite good in dark atmosphere in my case) It seem quite realistic to me, their paranoia, their suspicion and their ever growing rage was perfectly executed by the great actors. However, 'Ice' had a problem that I got over after a few watches: IT WAS TOO SHORT! I WANTED MORE!
Overall, 'ice' had what 98% of all X Files episodes have: Excellent acting, Intense story-writing, gritty directing. All the works.
10 out of 10
Chôjin densetsu Urotsukidôji: Mirai hen (1992)
Birth of a Supergod
I must say, Urotsukidoji III is not the best of the series, NOR the worst. Let's just say it's OK. It has its' ups, it has its' downs like practically any film in someone else's eyes.
The plot has many side plot which is confusing at first, the characters are still the same, good to see Amano Jyaku fighting Unihausen (forgive my spelling) again. I did not like the newly introduced Buju, he just seemed vile at first sight. He is not as bad as the incestuous father/cybernetic tyrant Ceaser, thankfully.
overall, OK storyline/s, good characters, slightly lackluster animation (in my case...) and OK voice-over (I said it was OK, NOT GREAT). Urotsukidoji III is NOT FOR EVERYONE. I like it. Enough said.
Shin chôjin densetsu Urotsukidôji: Mataiden (1993)
"Herrenvolk"
I saw this when I was eight years old (only two years ago), I was enraptured just like with Legend of the Overfiend. Truly underrated,Legend of the Demon Womb is just as viciously entertaining as its'forefather. Strong writing, strong action, strong characters and strong dubbing (in my case anyway...) pulses through this Legends veins.
I really enjoyed the smart plot of this Nazi diabolitist and his malicious scheme to seek and destroy the Overfiend for this "Herrenvolk" and using a friend as a tool for his demonic plan in this twisted tale of hate, violence, anarchy and fallen friends.
This is an excellent film, it is not for everybody. Enough said.
