Just a warning for those who haven't read the book and plan on seeing the movie: this contains spoilers!!
This movie makes all the others pale in comparison. From the horrendous acting done by the front three in the first two movies to the glaring mistakes made in the third, this movie makes up for it all. All the young actors have improved at least 200% and the adults give what is arguably the best performances in any movie to date. I know that many people were upset with the casting of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black, I among them, but in this movie he shines. It seemed as if every time he was on screen, tears came to my eyes, and not just because I knew he was going to fall through the veil at the end.
I have to say that all the other actors and actresses, save one, exceeded my expectations. This one exception was Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. After seeing Richard Harris take on this role flawlessly, the new Dumbledore is just not up to par. From the new costumes to the new personality, I don't know what it is. I just don't like him as Dumbledore. He needs to act like he's 150, not 25. And he needs to cut his nails.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and give it a ten out of ten with no hesitation, there were a few plot twists in the book that were not included. I sorely missed Aunt Petunia explaining what dementors are, as well as Mad Eye intimidating Uncle Vernon. I was also disappointed that only part of the prophecy was heard; the part about Neville possibly being in Harry's position was completely ignored. I was also disappointed by the way the veil was portrayed. There was no black curtain, just an archway with silver mist floating inside. Although I did not like this, the way Sirius's "death" was handled was incredible. It had me sobbing for ten minutes.
All in all, this movie was spectacular. Although it only came out two days ago, I am going to see it again for a third time. :)
