follow your dreams above the pull of family
7 December 2002
Wow, I was very much moved by the story. I identified with the guilt trips, the pull of family. I too broke away at least for awhile. I am still breaking way. I admire the lead in her drive to be true to her person. I don't understand how the picture and society in general approves of overeating. Here she feels it is her right to do so and be "fat." There are no health benefits in fat. All and all a great move with universal themes.

do not do to others what you don't want done to you

violence begets violence. The father by projecting hate and prejudice lost the respect and love of his family. It shows how your situation cannot be better by unlawful acts and deeds. From being a sympathic character to one that lost everything, the father stands out in these troubled times as a symbol of what wrong actions can produce.

Friendship and communication offer a powerful combination for success

this movie showed that there is more to life than sex. two strangers bonded and became friends in spite of their age and cultural differences. they established a bond where they did go out of their way for each other and so enriched their lives tenfold

powerful bonding movie

we bond through our vulnerabilities and this movies sets the stage for real communication, growth and understanding of the human condition more often real than imagined. I was moved by the powerful presentation of a sorry situation where no one really felt sorry for themselves
