Fun and Hilarious
4 May 2024
I remembered seeing this show back when I was young but not remembering much. Decided to go back and rewatch the series, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Seriously, I was laughing out loud so many times while watching this show, and there's not many out there that can do that. Both Daffy and Porky are just comedy gold, with Marvin the Martian just being icing on the cake. One thing that caught me off guard was most episodes ending on a positive note. In Looney Tunes, you're always kind of expecting the L (i.e. The win is the subversion), no matter who the character is. Even Bugs Bunny never always won in the end, sometimes some shorts ended with him being the last joke. Kind of feels refreshing in that sense.

Kinda there

This show really is just Uncle Grandpa just with no Pizza Steve or Mr. Gus. That show where you follow the titular character with the premise being that he's a do-gooder and helps people. You watch him derp around for most of the episode, mostly doing random things that don't really connect with anything, until something happens that solves the situation that the characters are in, sometimes leading into another situation, and then the episode ends. I don't hate Uncle Grandpa, not saying that this show is bad for being like it either, but like with Uncle Grandpa, the plots can sometimes be stretched out and boring, at least to me. At least with Uncle Grandpa there's Pizza Steve and Mr. Gus that at least work off the main character well and add a sense of chill humor to help balance out the randomness. The side characters in this show don't do much and just add on the randomness.

Very Funny, Over the Top
2 March 2024
Not gonna lie, I thought that this was like Aqua Teen Hunger Force just with hillbilly squids (not like that's a bad thing). Just thought to try it out after seeing some random funny moments about this show. I was very surprised to know that this show was insanely funny, while also doing its own thing. While ATHF plots start out simple and small, then build to being extremely weird and hectic, this shows' plots are throughout weird and crazy, thanks to the Cuyler family having very strong personalities. Episodes are also more topical, but of course from the perspective of the extreme country bumpkin. Another thing is that this show definitely has more frames of animation for its characters than ATHF. The ending credits also jams pretty hard. Overall, really enjoyed this show.

Fine, but a little too weird
28 November 2023
The show is still very fun and has some crude but funny humor. However, whenever I come back and watch this, I feel that the weirdness and zany atmosphere sometimes takes over the plot too much, making some episode plot go all over the place and end without payoff (especially in the third season, episodes just end abruptly). With shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, while they are focused on weirdness and crude humor, they are still focused on building the plot out, having things connect together. Really enjoyed this show back when it was still new in the Adult swim lineup, but coming back years later, it does somewhat show some age.

Was highly surprised

Didn't go in expecting a wonderful or even above average film. Kind of was expecting a rip off of Big Hero 6 and The Mitchells Vs The Machines, given how it centers on a technology corp releasing a new product that goes haywire, and also features a person befriending a robot and compassion between the two ensues. However, while those films carried a message of uniting together as a family or group to accomplish something, I feel that Ron's Gone Wrong sticks out from those movies in that it carries a moral of how one's own view of friendship shouldn't be of complete obedience and understanding, rather learning and experience. Unlike, say Baymax, Ron doesn't come equipped with any outstanding features, and eventually learns from interacting with others of his want to make friends. Ron eventually wants things, and I found that very interesting. I found Ron and Barney's relationship very endearing, the way how Ron gradually gets on Barney's nerves is hilarious. The villain was very uninspired and was probably the biggest knock against the movie.

This movie was a good example of "Don't knock it before you try it".

It's a fun show

Never saw the Aquaman movie, but you really don't have to in order to enjoy this show. Loved the antics of Aquaman and Mera, thought that the show had a fun sense of humor. Animation is sometimes choppy, and there was an occasional joke or line that seemed way too cheesy or just didn't make any sense. But those moments don't ruin anything.

Has style and charisma
7 March 2022
Never watched the original Proud family show, so can't really compare how faithful it is to the original. Nevertheless, I'm judging the show by its own merit, and it was a fairly fun and entertaining show. Penny is spunky and charismatic, yet never to a point where it is annoying to follow her. Loved the other characters, especially Mr Proud. One thing that was kinda weird was when they flashbacked to what is I am assuming clips from the original show. I thought that they looked really awkward because they used the original show's artstyle for these scenes, which doesn't match the new show's look, so it comes off as inconsistent. Other than that, nothing really to complain.

Such a great special to watch during the holidays.

An amazing special that involves Lucy and how she comes to terms of moving on from something that made her feel sad. Something fun to watch with family and kids, and not to mention a great looking special to boot.

Very reminiscent of Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Really loved the vibe of this show. All the characters, especially Pim, are just adorable. Compared this to Aqua teen hunger force because of the simple situations each episode has that evolves into massive chaos. Jokes could have been a lot more funny but maybe its just me.

Not that bad

Sometimes it has a purpose to air, and sometimes it's just animation for the sole purpose of animation. Though my favorite characters are definitely Cody, Lightning, and Duncan.

Another C.H. Greenblat hit

The artstyle is very much of shows like Chowder and Harvey Beaks, cute simplistic character designs with soft angles. Would have preferred a different style but still looks fine. The show makes excellent use of its Hanna Barbara catalog of characters, albeit there's no Ranger Smith, which is a bummer cause he's my favorite character. The humor can be a little dry at points, and characters like Yogi and Doggie Daddy I find to be the most uninteresting characters despite getting the most screen time. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the show and what it brought.

Criminally Underrated

The jokes in this show are consistently funny, the 4 main group of penguins are infinitely entertaining to watch, especially Kowalski and Rico, and honestly am glad I watched it.

Has Potential

A lot of the episodes seem to be rather aimless and are more focused on describing the animals they are studying about. Kinda got lost in some of these, and wished that the characters did more.

Underrated

Just stumbled across this on Disney Plus, and quite frankly, despite it's stupid premise, it's not that bad. I actually found this show to be pretty moderately funny. There were jokes that made me laugh harder than I should. The two main idiots who we follow are in the realm of being stupid but not annoying. The art style is at least unique apart from other disney shows. If you haven't seen it, give it a try.

Has so much charm

Have watched about 10 episodes so far, and am quite entertained by what this shows has to offer. The main two child characters are so hilarious to watch, especially Cricket, and the opening theme is so freaking catchy.

Feels somewhat underwhelming, at least now
1 November 2021
Honestly, the few episodes that are on Disney Plus range from decent at best to bland and forgetful at worst. The art style for this show is nice, but honestly, everything else feels generic or boring. Molly herself is another Mary Sue type character that is a dime a dozen nowadays in tv shows, and the plots in these episodes are also those that you have seen in other shows, such as the typical baseball/sports themed episode, the "make new friends" episode, and so on. I really wanted to like this show a lot, but it just doesn't offer anything that you can't find in like 20 or 30 other cartoons currently on Disney Plus.

Inside Job (2021–2022)

Decent enough
30 October 2021
This is a decent show, but there is one issue that kept me from really enjoying it.

First: the positives. The show's premise is very creative: A woman who's father is the former CEO of a company that creates conspiracies that also controls America goes into retirement, and thus the woman is next in line to run the company. However, she is not a very good person to work with, so the company overlords(?) hire a yes man to make her more friendly. The characters in general are fun and unique. The art style is on the bland side, and there's wasn't a whole lot of visual details that I noticed that were out of the ordinary, but it does get the job done.

My problem with the show is that the humor is very, very referential. Pretty much every joke that anyone says or does is regarding something like an event or obscure media. There's no other varieties of jokes other than something being referenced. I didn't really find any of these jokes hilarious, and found them more "wow" than funny. It's the same issue that I had with Cells at Work, to where the jokes in that show required you to get all the references and understanding of obscure ideas, which made me more bewildered than entertained. I usually don't care about the humor in a lot of story driven shows like Avatar and Adventure time, as the comedy to story telling ratio for those shows are about 20 to 80. But this show, along with other Alex Hirsh projects, has a ratio of about 60 to 40, so if the comedy aspect doesn't make me laugh, then the show won't be very entertaining to me. Which is a shame because the story telling elements are well done.

Again, I'm not saying that this is a bad show. In fact, this is one of the better animated shows that has come out of Netflix this year. But the humor will definitely be a deal breaker for many.
