De vloek van Woestewolf (1974)
Children's TV in a class of it's own
One of the famous 60's and 70's Children's TV-series from the Netherlands, along with series such as "Kunt U my de weg naar Hamelen vertellen" and "Swiebertje" are a cut above the rest. I'm sure whoever remembers this series thinks back with fond memories. A wonderful story, magnificently told through imagery part real and part animated. Hope it'll be rebroadcasted or better yet - DVD release.
Kunt u mij de weg naar Hamelen vertellen, mijnheer? (1972)
Children's fairy tale extraordinaire
One of the famous children's TV-series from the Netherlands in the 60's and 70's. Captivating storyline, fabulous cast and hopefully they'll find the entire series (most of it is lost) one day for rebroadcasting or DVD release. Worth watching, as the ratcatcher solves the ratproblem in the town of Hamelen, but then disappears - with all the children of the town. The alternate reality they find themselves in is one big adventure (kind of like Alice in Wonderland).
Sil de strandjutter (1976)
A magnificent true drama
Broadcasted in the Netherlands as a TV-series, a magnificent drama that should be released on DVD. Documents a family history of an orphan found by a family living on one of the Dutch Islands (Terschelling) and shows a wonderful cinematography as well as a captivating story. Romance, hardship, intrigue and gives a very realistic idea of what life was like at that time.
Angélique, marquise des anges (1964)
Romantic costume drama
From the book by Serge and Anne Golon, a magnificently filmed romantic drama. Michele Mercier as "Angelique" has earned her place in movie history with this series, which is available on video in Europe. I hope the USA will one day claim this series for DVD sales.
