This movie is 130 minutes and it's about 100 minutes too long. It just drags on. Nothing much ever really happens. It's Failure To Launch except there is a green knight waiting to cut off his head instead of woman sleeping with him. It never really explains much so if you aren't familiar with the myth maybe read up on it. We couldn't wait for it to end but we kept watching, waiting, think something might happen to make it worth wasting over 2 hours on. But it never did. I was being generous with 4 stars. I only gave that because I liked the fox. It was cute. But he was so self absorbed he didn't even worry about what happened to the Fox when he went to that weird couples house. The whole thing was just ugh.

I only gave this 4 stars because of Evan Williams. Unfortunately I feel like his pigeon holing himself in these Hallmark/Lifetime made for TV movies. He is a good actor and was good in this but it's just not a good movie. There isn't one single thing that would ever make you think they were a couple, just not likely. No way no how. I know they try to make the male character out to be the jerk but She is the one who is the jerk. Has to have her way or throws a fit and acts like a child. This movie just doesn't work. I had a hard time even finishing it. It's boring and nonsensical. They try so hard to make the cast diverse that it seems to take over priority instead of getting the best actors for the parts. Seems to be a running theme lately. I don't care what color, religion or sexuality you are just put the right person in the right role. Not just for the sake of matching some imaginary quota of the people they think they should have.

Plot is stupid, a lot of bad acting and a couple of privileged, grown, adults drag a sick orphan child into their petty drama. There may be one or 2 actors I have ever heard of before in this. There was a guy with a horrendous southern accent. As a Southerner I really hate that. If you need a southerner then hire one instead of someone who butchers the accent. For a Christmas movie there were very few Christmas elements to this movie. Not much Christmas music, decoration or anything very "merry and bright". I would say skip it. It's not very good and pretty much a waste of time. And the clothes weren't that great. You would have thought they would be better being as it's supposed to be about a fashion show. And the "friend" who got her into the mess she was in was like "oh sorry" with very little sincerity or genuine remorse at her friend being fired and meeting the "love of her life".

The acting is over the top, which was usual for that time. Marlon Brandon was at times very hard to understand. A lot of domestic violence and implied rape. The men are abusive to everyone especially women. So I found it a little hard to watch. The story is good though. Vivian Leigh was 38 when this came out so I'm assuming Blanche would be around that age. They act as if she is an ugly old made white has lost all her beauty and usefulness. It's sad because she was slowly going insane and no one seems to notice they just abuse her more especially Marlon Brandon's character. Its all very sad and tragic.

This isn't bad just doesn't really have much going on. Unfortunate with such talent. The mother remarries after her husband dies. She has 2 kids a son and a daughter. The son is kicked out at 12 years old by the new husband but the daughter, Lily Dale, stays with them. Lily Dale is a spoiled vain brat and way to immature for someone her age, even at that time. The son has had a hard life, getting kicked out of the house has a way of doing that to a kid. The jerk husband thinks a 12 year old should make his own way. The mother is stuck. In that day women had no say or free will.

It's the exact same set up as every single Hallmark movie ever made. They meet, fall in love, break up and get back together all in a couple of days. The acting was abysmally. Especially these lead actress. She is awful. So much overacting from all of them but she was the worst. The bizarre facial expressions all the time. What's up with that? And her "directing" the childrens choir was even weirder. Torrence Coombs is the only one I have ever heard of and he is usually gives a good performance but not this time. Could have been a much better movie. The scenery was gorgeous though. Why I gave it 5 stars. Clearly not England but they try to pass it off as it. All in all if you have absolutely nothing else to do watch it. Or don't.

It's not a bad movie. It has good actors. But good grief how long can someone stay pissed about a break up that happened 15/20 years before! That's crazy. And then still living with your parents, at that age, and behaving like their house is yours. I just had a very hard time liking her, Shelby, the main character. She comes off as an entitled jerk. Not everyone in the south speaks like a bumpkin. If you can get past that the other characters are pretty likeable.

And I mean so absolutely I can't take another minute boring. I think the only people who like this are the pretentious "I understand deep movies and everyone else is just stupid" type. It's ridiculous. What homicide cop can't carry a gun because he tried to kill his wife and still has a job? Stupid, right? It was supposed to be shocking but it was just tacky. Who talks like that? Who speaks to a woman he just met, and takes on a first date, like that? It's ridiculous. I thought her sister was her girlfriend at first. Yeah it's that cringey. Beautiful my @ss. I finally turned it off. And usually I will slog through no batter how bad but not this time. If I could give it negative stars I would.

I was really expecting this to be a good movie. I mean look who is in it! And Vanessa Redgrave and Joely Richardson do not disappoint. Ugh but Jonathan Rhys Meyers is not. He is expressionless throughout. How is he included on lists of Irelands best actors? But back to the movie, it's very boring. It's about a trio, who all but one are dead, that you never really find out anything about them. The story of them is all in flashes that don't tell much of anything except the like to have sex together. All 3 of them. Most of the movie is, at least 2 of the 3 main characters-and sometimes all 3, standing around talking. So yeah it's boring.
