RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs the World (2022)
A talent show where the goal is to be mediocre
Vs The World starts with a bang and ends as the most basic and uninteresting showing Drag Race has ever offered. I've never been less invested in a season finale and I really don't see anyone putting in on another international season when they'll know the goal is for the queens to be as mediocre as possible to get to the end.
When this show is based on talent, it has stakes and intrigue - once you take away all that, you're basically watching a lazily written sitcom. I was genuinely bored.
RuPaul's Drag Race: Save a Queen (2022)
So good but they really cut out all Maddys jokes
Every time they show Maddy make these funny scripts for everyone and have clearly awesome jokes but they cut so much out. Like, I get it that they are against a straight queen winning but let her skills show before you find an excuse to kick her. There's no reason to edit out her skills.
RuPaul's Drag Race: A Pair of Balls (2022)
Willow really always shows up as a frontrunner
Everything Willow gives is uniquely her and still so good. I am a huge stan. Give me more feelings in every look and such smart showings.
But please stop cutting out all Maddys awesome jokes.
Canada's Drag Race: Prom (2021)
The Queens Cared More About Their Daughters
This was one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. I love that multiple queens cared more about the person they were styling than themselves or even winning. I loved the emotional elements and for once, I felt every feeling was really genuine. This episode was a fake cry money grab or people over playing their stories just for TV- it was all so genuine and truly heartfelt and it just... everything was so perfect.
Canada's Drag Race (2020)
Season 2: It's a much slower build up to love the players but it gets there
It's unlike most other seasons of drag race and rather than falling for the cast earlier on, I really don't think you get drawn in until about halfway through. Pythia and Icesis were definitely my front-runners but you really end up enjoying most of the cast towards the end. Canada is a lot more kindness and innocent puns but as someone who has seen every episode of every franchise, if you give it a few episodes, it gets really good. (EPISODE 8 WAS ONE OF THE BEST OF THE WHOLE FRANCHISE)
Brooklyn could knock the air out of your lungs, she is stunning every look and plays the part perfectly. I really wish they'd just let her be the main judge since it's kind of off-putting to see the judge switch around so much but I guess I get it.
