The Northman (2022)
A Viking-Esque Epic
Mild Spoilers: I'm a big fan of Vikings so going into this, I was expecting a lot of huge, savage, killer men raiding and plundering. I was slightly disappointed; there is some of that in this film but only for a brief part of the experience. The main plot of the film is about Amleth, a loan viking; there is nothing wrong with this but a little more Viking shenanigans would have been fun. There is however, a lot of Viking lore integrated into this project; from the mythology of that age to even some magic, in some senses. Overall, if you're in the mood to watch a slow paced (in a good way) film with revenge, great dialog, and fantastical sets, this is a good choice.
Set in Motion (2021)
A Raw And Real Story
Early on into this film, you can easily tell that the people behind this project deeply cared for it; all three interconnected stories pull you in and keep you engaged. The main three actors and the majority of the rest of the cast did a good job at conveying emotion. Some of the audio mixing wasn't great but that can be easily forgiven when you realize how much work was put into this. Everything from getting extras for background scenes to having on-location sets for particular scenes in the film. This was a well-written and emotionally moving story with a few scenes that will pull on your heartstrings. I'm typically okay with not having a sequel to a well-made and emotional film but if they made one, I'd welcome it and would enjoy seeing where these characters go.

A Failed Attempt At A Teen Comedy
There are only two redeeming features in this film: 1.) The sets were done well and with care. 2.) Lauren McKnight is the only good actor in this movie; all of the other actors weren't necessarily bad (although some of them were) it's that she was the only one participating that seemed like she wanted this to be done right. So here's my grief with the story: The main character is a creep who has a life-size cut-out of a girl he likes, lies about his mom having cancer to talk to the girl, gets aroused by touching her hair from behind (without her knowledge), and kisses the girl while she's sleeping. So we're supposed to root for him? He's supposed to be charming? I started to believe that we're meant to dislike him but by the end, it's obvious the writing behind this was painfully not self-ware. The main character is so incredibly unlikable that as an audience member, you want him to lose, but by the end of the film; a lesson is learned: "do what you want" regardless of who you hurt or what is done. Live like a creep and get the girl.

A fan of Michael Knowles
Not a lot can be found from this show; I've discovered some clips and pictures. I haven't found the full length episodes; it would appear to me that at least two episodes were filmed. It seemed the actors and the crew really cared about the project; it's a shame that it didn't take off. You could tell they all really put their hearts into this project.
