Halle Baily was the most brutal choice to crush a childhood nostalgia. Cold-blooded rigid acting. Zero facial expression of emotions, robotic body movements. I am sure the movie was rather a mere getting-famous project to her and to the director than the realization of a childhood fantasy. It only gets more soul-crushing when paired with the almost-flawless make and production. A blatant waste!
I honestly wished we could have the dad's acting for the main character or any random non-actor person from across the street. Just someone who had the slightest bit of idea about the role they are acting.
I guess I can sum up by the emotions I had during the movie: irritated, stultified, aggravated.
