DI Ray (2022)
Abysmal
I only watched this as I mistakenly thought a different actor from Line of Duty wrote this. When I found out it was the one who played Maneet, I just hoped her writing would be better than her rather mediocre acting. Sadly it wasn't. If anything it was worse. I don't think I've ever watched anything with quite such an appalling script as this one, so I binned it off. Won't watch anything written by her again, that's for sure.
Nova Jones (2021)
Garbage
It's almost offensive that this even went to production. It should definitely have been left on the desk it landed on, or better still, nudged into the trash pile. It's embarrassingly bad. I guess that's why it only made it to digital, but still. What a waste of money and resources that could've gone towards something worthwhile.
There's just no redeeming qualities to it at all, it's simply a bad and very basic attempt at creative writing that should never have been commissioned. Primary school aged children can write better than this and must feel quite insulted to have this thrown at them and be expected to engage.
An Inspector Calls (2015)
Well done to all
This is an exceptionally good version of a very important play. The casting was perhaps the best I have ever seen, either on stage or screen. One can only hope that teachers up and down the country show this version to their classes, given the play is often in the school curriculum in the UK. Given how visually perfect and emotionally accurate this version is, I say it is a must for anyone studying the play, to give a powerful and visual accompaniment to a play that has little to no action. Sometimes children find it easier to understand written works when they are able to see it played out, and I would highly recommend to anyone with children in their GCSE stages.
