I Married Wyatt Earp (1983)
Ross Martin's final performance a 10!
I bought this movie because Ross Martin was in it, and as soon as I saw him I realized how wonderful an actor he was all over again. My heart was breaking as I watched this performance, his Jacob Speigler. The movie itself is not the greatest movie I have ever seen, but it has that feel of "Little House on the Prairie" since Allison Arngrim appears in the movie, and Marie Osmond is so sweet. Matthew Perry's father was immediately recognized. However, as I have said, Ross Martin's performance was what drew me to this title. He was a master character actor and it shows in this role. In his first scene he treats Osmond's Josie with such tenderness that I thought my heart would break. I will never get over my girlhood crush on Ross Martin, even though he was old enough to have been my grandad, both having been born in 1920.
Experiment in Terror (1962)
Experiment in Terror is a great 60's flick!
I have read the other reviews of this wonderful Blake Edwards movie, and I will try not to rehash their points. I will say that I rented this because of Ross Martin who left us too soon at the age of 61. Lee Remick was cool and even, and played Kelly's emotions well. Stephanie Powers was phenomenal! She was just 19 but it doesn't show in her acting ability. The villain was utterly compelling and well played.
I didn't think that this movie was so terrifying, but that could be because I had read so much about it that included spoilers that I was prepared for what was happening. It could also be because TV shows today are more terrifying than thrillers of the 60's. We are inundated with classless and non-entertaining film today!
Experiment in Terror was entertaining and a bit suspenseful, a classy production, and I recommend that you see it!
