I saw one user say that this movie is for feminists and tree huggers. I laughed my butt off at that comment but the truth is that this movie really isn't pro-feminist or pro tree hugging. The thing that makes the little girl special is not that she is a female - it is that she is special and the dynamic of the story is that she is a female. I don't think this movie really insults men because there are some strong male characters in this movie with good qaulities. It's really just a story about those things that we humans don't completely understand as of yet - things like destiny, talent, genetics, and the depper nature of people - it transcends gender. Pai knows without a doubt that she has special powers and just lives with it - she was born to be the leader of the tribe and her grandfather can't see how much he has to be proud of.

The ratings people gave this movie are not a accurate representation of the quality of this film. The score is amazing, the story is dreamy and haunting, and the acting is top notch. The end is truly heart breaking.
