Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Mission Impossible: Jurassic World
I went into this film with high expectations and they were barely met which is okay. This didn't feel like a Jurassic film. It felt like a Mission Impossible movie with dinosaurs. There's some call backs to Kenner artwork which felt like a nice touch. Jeff Goldblum in my opinion carried this film. His character felt the most important. You should never go into this film expecting an Oscar winning script. These films have never made sense so when you apply realism to this franchise resort it to the dinosaurs. I loved the animatronics which made it feel like the first film allot. Don't listen to critics and go see this movie. If you love dinosaurs and you turn your brain off you'll have a great time with friends.
Shinkaijû Reigô (2005)
Tried but got so far
First off this film has a lot of heart and you could tell they tried as best as they could with what little they were offered on this budget. I think the best part of the film is the script. The design of Reigo is awesome. The CGI is definitely my least favorite part though. Overall I didn't think this movie was bad but it's not going to be the talk of the town. I decided not to take points away for the CGI because I feel like this film did the best they could with what little money they had for the CGI. The other things about this film exceeded my expectations. If you're a dedicated Kaiju fan then check this film out but if you're just a casual fan this might not be the film for you. Overall I enjoyed my time watching this movie.
The Batman (2022)
Best performance since Michael Keaton!
I went into this film with very high standards considering the films we've had before. By the end of this film I was left speechless. My standards were met and exceeded. I can't say anything wrong about this film other than maybe tweak the prosthetic on Colin Farrell's face. Matt Reeves knows what he is doing with Batman. I've always had this dream film where Robert Pattinson plays Terry McGinnis and Michael Keaton reprises his role as old man Bruce Wayne so I was bummed out to hear he was playing Bruce Wayne instead. But I was still happy for Robert because I feel he's good actor that's unfortunately lived under the shadow of Stephenie Meyer so it felt great to see him get a big role like this. That being said, Robert Pattinson is first actor since Michael Keaton to nail both Bruce Wayne and the Batman. I was so impressed and in awe by his performance. Some honorable mentions for me are Falcone, Selina and Gordan. This film didn't have as much action as the Christopher Nolan films but I feel it had better set pieces overall. I could keep going about this film but I feel I've said enough so I'll end by saying this. I highly recommend you go see The Batman in the best theater possible. You don't want to miss this experience. It's one of the best I've had. Standing ovation to Matt Reeves. Now let's see if he can make a even better sequel.
