The Batman (2022)
To: The Batman
Where do I even start with how well made this movie is? The casting was amazing, I think that Robert Pattinson did a great job as batman. I have never been a fan of the things that Robert Pattinson was cast in before but this seems like a very different role than anything he's done in the past.
I saw this movie specifically for Paul Dano (The Riddler) so let's talk about him. I think that he did his job well and that he was the perfect actor for The Riddler. Paul Dano really put emotion into his acting and you can see. The way he talks and strains his voice to make him seem more deranged was amazing. He somehow made The Riddler's costume look amazing on him, the way the mask covered his face just made it look like he had worn it many a time before and like he really was doing that for a long time instead of just the time that you know in the movie. How he killed the mayor was well acted on all parts. Just the way he did it made it seem so realistic.
During this movie I didn't check my phone once, and it's a long movie. Honestly I think that this movie is the best DC movie that they've ever made (mostly because of Paul Dano), and that anyone who bothered to read to this part of my nonsensical ramblings should watch it. In theaters or on a website, I really don't care as long as more people watch this movie and can talk about it.
The Guilty (2021)
lazy
This movie felt lazy and rushed. It's just an officer named Joe (Jake Gyllenhaal) who had killed someone or something of the sort. He got demoted to taking care of the calls and gets called by a women who had been abducted. It's just lazy and goes no where. It only gets a 7/10 because i refuse to rate any movie or show with Paul Dano in it lower than a 7.
Okja (2017)
where do i even start
I loved this movie, it was cute and the acting in it was really good and the story was cute and intriguing. I watched it and loved it, I really don't think i would love it as much as i do if Paul Dano wasn't in it but i do think it's still a good movie. The ending really surprised me in a bitter sweet sort of way.
Swiss Army Man (2016)
funny and cute
Hank (Paul Dano) is a man whos been stranded alone on an island. He is close to suicide, he is in the process of trying to hang himself when he sees a body washed up on shore (Daniel Radcliffe). Hank breaks the rope around his neck to see if the body is alive. Hank then finds out that the body can fart and in a hilarious sequence he ends up back onto land that can lead to home. The body that Hank found on the shore tells Hank that his name is Manny and Hank teaches Manny about everything that he's forgotten. It's adorable and cute. 10/10.
Ruby Sparks (2012)
oh. my. gosh. AMAZING!
The story was amazing and shocking and the plot twist really shocked me. I think that Calvin (Paul Dano) was written well, a writer who had a novel go viral when he was just a kid and now he has to deal with the burnout that comes with it. Calvin getting inspiration from a dream about a girl was cheesy but as a writer, it was true. His reaction to Ruby when she was found in his house was very realistic, the relief Calvin felt when he realized others could see her was fantastic. I really think that this an amazing movie with amazing actors.
Gigantic (2008)
intresting.
This movie wasn't good, the storyline is confusing and the writing seems odd. The actors are amazing, Paul Dano did an excellent job as Brian and Zooey did a great job as Happy but the storyline is all over the place with lots of questions being left unanswered. Who was the homeless man? Why did Brian want a baby from China specifically? Why would Brian let a random girl fall asleep in his store despite being shown to be a man who wouldn't just let that happen? It's confusing. 7/10 because Paul Dano is hot.
There Will Be Blood (2007)
astounding
I absolutely love this movie, I'm watching it now. I think that the storylines and the relationships are well played. Paul Dano did an excellent role as Eli Sunday in every scene that he's in. There's so much personality put into Eli. I personally think that there wasn't enough of Paul Dano in the movie but when there are scenes without him they are well played as well. The emotion of each scene can be felt and the small details put into it are simply astounding. The characters (Especially Eli Sunday) are attractive but rough around the edges. Eli is adorable in the way that he acts so calm and collected but his true emotion seeps through his facade. To be honest, I only watched this movie for Paul Dano as Eli Sunday, I haven't bothered to learn any of the other actors or characters. I do think that if you went into this movie for the storyline and not a hot man you would be surprised plus some.
Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
heart wrenching and beautiful
I watched this movie while extremely stoned, but i still think it deserved a 10/10. It was amazing and i couldn't stop watching it, i actually watched it twice in a row. I think that Dwayne (Paul Dano) was an amazing character, he accurately plays a teenage boy dealing with mental illness. I also think that the scene where Dwayne finds out he can't fly jets is amazing, it's heart breaking and it shows how determined Dwayne is.
The Girl Next Door (2004)
cute and nerdy
I think the movie was good, i watched it while stoned but i do think its a genuinely good movie. It may be sexual but that's the whole point of the movie. I think that klitz (portrayed by Paul Dano) could've played a bigger role in the movie but I'm happy with what I got. Overall, its a funny movie. Would watch again.
