after careful consideration........
28 August 2004
well, I never really took a fancy to anything Harry Potter related when I was smaller, but ever since the Chamber of Secrets started playing on Cinemax a lot, and the fact that most of my friends were into it, I thought "All right, I'll see what all the buzz is about." So I borrowed the first movie from my friend before we went to go see the Prisoner of Azkaban, cuz I wanted to get how this whole thing started. I really enjoyed it actually. This one still remains my favorite so far, because it follows the book, which I only finished reading yesterday, really well.

I can't say I find anything really wrong with this movie, and if you don't like Harry Potter, well, that's your dilemna. 9/10

Volcano (1997)
Good and Bad
2 March 2003
OK, This movie seemed a lot scarier on the preview that I saw on Independence Day, but it wasn't as scary as I thought, which kind of let me down. I ordered it on PPV and recorded it because it didn't seem so bad to me. You can tell when people are acting good and this movie had good acting. As for everything else, most things made sense to me. Though I believe something like this could happen because of the opening fissure thing, you'd need a volcano first, and I don't think there are any volcanos under the tar pits which should hold the lava in well enough to keep it from erupting, but what do I know? Anyhoo, the lava effects were good, but didn't make sense. Most of the stuff it touched would have melted a lot faster anyway, like the k-rails for instance, the guy in the train would have already burned up, and Amy should have already been dead when she and Rachel were in the tunnel and the steam swallowed her up, because if the stuff killed the workers before, why wouldn't it kill her now. When I start to make my movies I'm gonna make stuff that makes sense. As far as good things go, the heart was good in this movie, but it should be considered more of a suspense than action. I give it a B, because it really isn't as bad as it looks. I wish people would stop critisizing too much, because these are movies, they don't need to be perfect, they're supposed to be exaggerated a little. It could have been done better.

007: Nightfire (2002 Video Game)
better than AUF, but not the best.
24 November 2002
I couldn't wait to rent this game, even though it disapointed me a little bit. The gameplay relates a lot to Agent Under Fire, which really ticked me off. Even the Multiplayer is identical. However, it wasn't that close to a faliure. The graphics were a hell of a lot better and I loved how they made Bond look exactly like Brosnan, except for a s****y lie about having Brosnan voice this one. The women were pretty good, except that they just couldn't resist to kill the hottest one. Damn. Anyway, the levels were very good and the car chases are aplenty, and that made me feel ecstatic. Overall, it is better than Agent Under Fire and I hate it when they said that the multiplayer levels in Auf were better than TWINE, they sucked. It rates third in my books. Oh, and I liked how it had its own theme song at the beginning. I just hope when Die Another Day becomes a game it will be as good as GoldenEye, but so far, nothing has beat that game. 7/10

Dead to Rights (2002 Video Game)
an excellent game.
22 October 2002
Warning: Spoilers
This game is one of Namco's best. They have really reddemed themselves with this. The graphics kind of suck, because it looks almost as if it was on Playstation 2, evn with the cutscenes. The gameplay, however, is excellent. I couldn't wait to get this game when it came out. Another thing that makes it seem almost real is the mini-games. I mean you'd probably be found going throught stuff like that in a movie like this. I'm glad they give this mini-game type stuff to you insted of letiing the cutscenes do it for you.

Spoilers

Now comes the story. Jack Slate is a K-9 Grant City police officer who has been framed for murdering a gangster that his father was investigating. He then escapes prison and heads off to Chinatown for some information. Soon he gets involved investigating his father's case. Then, he finds out that some people who should be good guys are really the bad guys such as the mayor and escpecially the head of the police. I won't give away any more of the plot. Most of it is a revenge plot anyway.

This game is a lot like Max Payne in respect of the plot and the diving. Although I like this one a hell of a lot better, it's more intense and fun. I spent days trying to beat it, then finally got the strategy guide because I was so frusterated. I also like it in respect of the difficulty. It his very hard to complete. What sucks is how in games like this, there is no "get the girl" stuff, which really ruined it for me. Also, the fact that they don't move their lips while they speak in the actual game, not cutscenes, sucks. I mean they've had the technology for that since 2000 and they can't do it now? What's wrong with them?It still is a great game. I'll go for any action game out there. Play this, you'll love it. I guarantee you. 7/10

pretty good
15 October 2002
I honestly think that the gameplay is the best I've seen in years. What sucks is how when I first got it, I apparently didn't have the right video card. When I got a new one. It worked like a charm, although my Half-Life still freezes the computer. Anyway, I loved the gameplay period. The cutscenes, well, they should be done better. The things I complain about with the scenes is that the characters' lips move like a Japanese game and their noses are pretty 2-D. The plot is pretty basic, and I think that Kyle should have gotten his saber back another way instead of asking a Jedi who normally should have said no. What I can't get is how in 1st person view, the weapons look so well animated, while in 3rd person view, they look pretty crappy, except the saber. If you are at least a fan of action games, get this. 8/10

Sleepwalkers (1992)

sucked, sucked, and sucked. Did I mention sucked?

Ok, I first saw this movie like at 9:00 on Cinemax a few weeks ago and thought it would be award winning, boy was I 180d on that. This movie bit the big one. I mean, the mother of the monsters shows her true form only at the end of the movie. I'm going " That's it? Why doesn't she show it briefly a little bit more earlier in the movie." The plot being the mother and son feast on the blood of young women. Wouldn't it be better if they just went on, you know, a killing spree killing like a couple of young women each, then having the sheriff or a cop find out about and get into the old find a way to kill the monsters, save the young woman/women, and have 1 or 2 more people killed in the process? I think it would be a hell of a lot better that way. It also sucks because the son is the main character and he gets killed first. Why not get rid of the mother first? Plus, how does she have that strength at the end of the movie when she starts killing people? She said it herself she was too weak. What the heck was wrong with Stephen this time? I can never, ever dis the acting on any movie by any actor, after all, they try their best. If it weren't for good acting, I'd have given this movie a 1/10. 3/10.

Metal Gear Solid (1998 Video Game)
The best game ever made.
30 September 2002
Even though I played it after the second one, It still is much better. I loved how the story unfolds with drama and action. This game makes it seem like reality. The characters are pretty cool. They all have their own stories to tell and all. The cool thing is how even the slightest scratch on you affects your health, like the cigs for example; and how when your bleeding is bad, you lose blood without getting hit and can bandage yourself up. It's nice to see a game with everything in it. Such as action, drama, comedy, suspense, and thrills. Snake is a very interesting character to portray: a person who "just lives" in the moment like the rest of FOXHOUND. The Codec chats are funny at times. I love the radar and how you can see everything you can do to sneak past an enemy. Everything about this game is amazing. 10/10.

He IS back.
19 September 2002
This movie is, by far, Arnold Schwarzenegger's best movie ever made. I first saw this a few years ago and completely loved it. It had much more action than the first. I also love how John teaches the terminator how to act more human. The first time he smiles ( special edition only) is hilarious. That makes up for his lack of one-liners in this movie. I'm glad they brought back Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, because it's her role. Edward Furlong is great as John Connor. Oh, and the T-1000 is one of the most dangerous enemies I've ever seen. I like to see characters outnumbered in odds and then finding a way to win over something much more powerful. Arnie was meant for this kind of movie. Although I might find Terminator 3 a little dissapointing due to the lack of Cameron at least writing the movie, I will always enjoy this movie. 8/10.

Britney's Dance Beat (2002 Video Game)
Not as good as DDR, but it's good.
5 July 2002
I never really wanted to play this game, but I was forced to at a friend's house, and got a little hooked on it. It resembles DDR, but it doesn't have the variety of songs it should have from her albums. I enjoy playing it to a point. The funny thing is her reactions during bad moves. She sometimes ticks me off with her comments, but other than that, it's a good game. 6 out of 10.

Spider-Man (2002)

Excellent!
6 June 2002
Ok, I thought that the cast didn't make sense when they put Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane, but after I saw the movie, I realized " She IS Mary Jane." Tobey Maguire is excellent as Spider-Man. He really fit into the role as the nerdy Peter Parker in the start of the film. Tobey should be doing a lot more action films now that he's become very buff. As for Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin, he was great. I liked the way his voice sounded as a caring person and an evil villian. Now, the plot was much better than in the series. It is better that he doesn't have to put in web cartridges all time. Plus, it was very interesting to have Uncle Ben murdered outside the house and having that chase to realize that it his his duty to become a hero. I give this one a perfect 10.

Not as good as Platypus Man, but still good.

This one is very funny. The part about the men and women satisfaction scale is hilarious, as is the church joke. Jeni is one of the best comedians I've ever heard. You should watch this if you want to lose your breath every 30 seconds.

He's done better.
24 May 2002
I certainly disagree with everybody else's opinion on this movie, but they're entitled to their opinions. Anyways, this movie involves Arnold's basic kind of movie. Though, I can't say it is completely a new kind of movie for him, because he says he doesn't start out as an action hero. Earth to Arnold: You didn't start out as an action hero in the sixth day either, did you. It may be only one other movie, but still. Even so, the movie was pretty good. I think they could have added a little more weapons for Arnold to use also. I mean, come on. At least give him a handgun. The way he uses his fire-fighter skills to complete his objectives is pretty cool. Arnold has had better movies. I can't wait for T3 and TL2 or True Lies 2. Hopefully those will be better. Yeah. I give this movie a 6.

Spider-Man (2002)
9/10
The best superhero movie yet.
10 May 2002
This Movie was much better than I expected. At first I didn't think that Tobey Maguire would be a good Spider Man, but after I saw the movie, I thought " Wow! This guy is good." Kirsten Dunst has gotta come back in the sequel as M.J. No one else has that kind of real-life Mary Jane look. Plus, I've been a fan of Kirsten's for a while. I've seen Bring it On, Small Soldiers, Jumanji, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. She's great. Spider-Man is much better than the bat and the man of steel. I've never really liked Superman. Not to put it down, but I like batman much better. Although Spider-Man blows them all away. I can't wait to play the game as well as get it on DVD.

He could of had at least a pistol. Still, it's a great movie.
25 February 2002
This movie is definitely an Arnold movie. You know him, always fighting terrorism as an actor and a politician or republican, I can't remember the word for it. It isn't like his other obvious films like Terminator or a big buff killing machine movie. He just plays an ordinary guy who loses his family in a tragic terrorist attack. If the law won't do its job, guess who will?! I never expected it to be his best movie, and it definitely won't be as good as T3 or True Lies 2, but it is a great film to watch.

Puts Arnie back in his style, but without firepower.
10 February 2002
Collateral Damage is a movie to see if you're really p***ed at bin Laden. Arnold's fight seens are much better than in The 6th Day or End of Days. This has been his best action hit since Eraser. Although the movie would have been better if they gave him a gun, but I still think it's a great movie. He only had about 3 of his one liners in the movie. It was great how they kept everyone in suspense at the end. The movie itself is like True Lies meets Predator, with a taste of The 6th Day, because from True Lies, he's fighting terrorism, from Predator, he's in the Jungle, and from The 6th Day, he turns from his normal job to stop the local bad guys. Anyone who wants to think that we're gonna finally get bin Laden, Collateral Damage is the one to see, and so is a movie that I hope to act, write, and direct in (and denifinetly will).

Better than both Tremors 1 and 2
4 January 2002
Tremors 1 was a good movie. The second Tremors wasn't as good because of the lack of characters, running, good, action, and lead shrieker. If They had a shrieker that got smarter, then it might have been a better movie. In Tremors 1 and 3, they had Stumpy(the graboid with two tentacles) get smarter towards the end, and in the third film, There was el Blanco and the ass blaster that dodged the flaming arrow. Another thing that makes Tremors 3 good is the combining of all the monsters. I just wish that they could have shown the Shreikers a little more than they did. The last thing that makes it good is bringing it back to Perfection to have sort of a reunion between the characters in the first Tremors.
