The Power (2023)
Lazy Writing
The show is full of plot issues that make no sense. For example, Allie/Eve goes to the pawn shop to sell a ruby. She is negotiates $150 for the ruby. All the sudden she is still hungry walking on the street the following day. There was no point to the pawn shop scene if she wasn't going to use the money for food or something else to move the plot along. This is just one example of the issues with this show.
Another issue was how the characters reacted in certain situations that made it feel inauthentic. For example, Eve kills a nun and the girls support her killing no matter what. Eve is hearing a female voice in her head which has been guiding her. She claims this voice is God. However, the voice is telling her to commit crimes and fails to advise her to do the "right thing". Allie/Eve is using her power for selfish gains. This does not seem God-like to me. Rather, it seems like Satan is guiding her. She should realize this, which makes the show unwatchable.
It was a struggle for me to watch due to the inconsistencies and plot holes throughout the storyline. It could have been a great show if the director paid attention to these small details that made no sense.
Mystery Incorporated: Welcome to Coolsville (2022)
The Best Real Life Adaptation To Date
The character development drew me into this show as the plot i intertwined between the main characters. A real Great Dane for Scooby really made it feel much more authentic than the CGI movie versions. This feels like Scooby Doo for adults. There were many references to the cartoons in the past and I foresee many past villains to make an appearance in the future.
