Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)
Nothing exception, pretty average and highly predictable
After seeing the box office collection and word of mouth for this movie, I thought it was a masterpiece. When I watched it on Netflix, I was pretty disappointed by it. It was quite average. Songs were a big let down, especially for me. Acting was loud at moments, writing was all over the place. Could have been much better, given Priyadarshan had directed it, since he knows the soul of BB1.
Nevertheless, extremely happy for Kartik. He's got a massive blockbuster (his highest grosser to date) after working hard for so many years. Hope he picks up more interesting projects that will eventually boost his career.
Screenplay: 2/5
Songs & BGM: 2.5/5
Acting: 3/5
Story: 3/5
Production Design & VFX: 3.5/5.
Mahi Mera Nikka Jeha (2022)
Partly works and a disappointment
Very mediocre story and extremely over the top performances.
Some dialogues include body shaming other characters. Story could have been more better but it's all about height differences and loud acting. By the ending the story got a bit better but lacks better direction.
Na Umra Ki Seema Ho (2022)
Flawed Masterpiece and one of the greatest shows of all time
There's no toxicity unlike other soap operas, which I hope the writers will continue to avoid as the story progresses.
Coming to the grounded nature of the story and characters, nothing seems to be over the top and presents various challenges people face, very naturally.
The performances by lead cast and supporting ones totally shines. Iqbal, Rachana, Sneha and everyone else is doing a fabulous job. Special mention for Sneha, she looks and acts perfectly. She's not going mad at Dev's character to be in her life. Villains in Indian shows are always in the male lead's home creating havoc. Amba's presence is limited and to the point, hence avoiding overdo and overkill, which is a good thing. Hope the story unfolds slowly like the way it's being done right now.
Tera Mera Saath Rahe (2021)
Heartwarming and Entertaining show
Summing up my viewing experience of Tera Mera Saath Rahe.
A family drama that'll make you smile, laugh and cry at times. Totally enjoyed watching it and the storyline is way better than most ITV shows. It's off airing so writing my review of why this show is excellent and some of its demerits.
Rupal ma'am, Giaa, Nazim, Jyoti ma'am, Sampath sir, Vandana ma'am, Pooja, Priyamvada and all other actors did a wonderful job throughout the series. This show, great, however couldn't showcase its potential in reach because of STAR Bharat. Airing on StarPlus could've made it in Top 5 always.
Pros:
- Great and layered characters
- Meethila-Gopika-Saksham's Jodi
- Brilliant Cinematography (The best I've seen in a daily soap & some movies; outstanding job!)
- Acting by every single actor in 95% of the scenarios
- Amazing backstory and it's integration in the storyline
- Full on entertainment guaranteed (Ramila and Tejal's banter is hilarious 😂)
- Emotional scenes draw you in completely
- Touching on various societal issues
- and more!
Cons
- STAR Bharat. Incompetent channel; failed to prove its worth and Tera Mera Saath Rahe couldn't get mainstream attention and reach, though performing well in Online TRPs
- Sometimes direction and characterization became too weak (over the top)
- Dragging of Priya's story (close to 6 months)
- Less screentime for Ramila, Hiten, Tejal and Mama Ji (show could have been 10 times more entertaining)
- Unexplored storyline of Chirag and Aashi (wasted potential here)
- Acting of some actors became too over the top and loud sometimes
A great show and watch it on STAR Bharat till Mid June and anytime on Disney+Hotstar. You'll love it!
