Zane Grey Theatre: Pressure Point (1958)
Great early performance by the great Pernell Roberts.
In this episode Roberts portrays the baddie Banning who is gunning for the sheriff who killed his brother, even though the man Walter Pidgeon is now blind. Roberts displays his acting chops in this before Bonanza role. The episode was entertaining..,,just wish it as a bit longer.
Most Wanted: The Driver (1977)
This episode kind of makes viewers sympathize a little with the villain.
Robert Stack seams a little wooden as the head cop but he carries the episode pretty well. He is starting to get into Barnaby Jones territory where he has younger associates do the running around for him lol. The great Pernell Roberts who played the villain stunt driving instructor was excellent. I liked how they gave the back story motivation for why he was behind forcing city workers off the road to their deaths. He was mad because a review board which was filled with civilians fired him from his job on the police force where he once worked with the Robert Stack character. Nice to see the durably handsome Pernell Roberts play this role in a nuanced manner. The stunt driving of big 70s boat cars was good too.
The Name of the Game: Chains of Command (1969)
Nice face off between Robert Stack and Pernell Roberts
Strong performances by Stack and Pernell Roberts, especially Roberts who plays a great villain. Roberts still looks handsome behind the cheesey
moustache he wears for his role as head prison guard. Today (2022) it's a bit off putting to hear the term "wet back" used every five seconds but this was made 50 years ago. Also nice cameo by Dorothy Lamour.
