Resident Evil Village (2021)
The lady dimitrescu show
Soooo, after playing biohazard l had high expectations for this and oh boy did capcom deliver... After expecting this game to basically be the "lady dimitrescu show" based on what was shown in the trailers, l first was shocked they got rid of her during the first few acts of the game, but then the game hit me with the second boss of the game, and oh my god was that part scary.
After roaming the beautiful and clean halls of the gothic castle where you leave with enthusiasm and optimism, the game hits you with the scariest horror game sequence l have ever been put through. First, you get your weapons taken away and get reminded that tuis is in fact a resident evil game and you are once again defenceless and vulnerable... Then the game slowly creeps up on you with disturbing radio messages and a few cheap scares. However, this tenseness builds up and builds up until you reach an important part of the level where the ambience changes DRASTICALLY. And from this point the game had my heart RACING. I had to take 5 minute breaks multiple times throughout this because l couldnt stand the tenseness... The rest of this game is fine too, the final boss is well done but a bit disappointing compared to the first two sections of the game that were a complete homerun. However l did enjoy the ending and as l said the first two sections were definitely the best experience ive had in a video game to this day, so if you can look past the very cheesy story you will have a blast playing this.
Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim (2022)
Ye sure
Well i bought this game when i was relly high, and played it while drunk, but it was hella fun.
My friends watched me play it, but anyway i wish trickstet had more screen time, and it would have been better if we made claudette pegging dwight canon.
But besides, trapper is kinda hot, spirit is creepy, trickster is bts fanboy, and huntress is mommy.
I think thats the best way to sum it up, and if you were looking for an in-depth review of the story and plot, you have come to the wrong place.
(Well actually wrong game in this situation)
Anyway, if you are stoned, and are looking for a game, go for it. If you are not high i would not recomment it tho.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Way better than the first
Before you complain about why I didnt give 10, I must say that the first one wasn't really my cup of tea, so I watched this with a worse expextation than necessary.
But after the first act which sadly was as expected, things really start to get interesting, and James Cameron -again- starts to capture some of the most beautiful shots of cinema i've seen in my life. The second act fully pays for the first 30 minutes which were really not that interesting, and if the movie just ended there without really having a plot, I would actually say it's dammn near perfect, but then there's the third act, which sadly falls back into old action-movie habits. Which just leads to a giant CGI-everythinggoesboom-finale, and an unsarisfying ending.
An okay-ish first act
A perfect second act
And sadly a generic finale.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Feels like a punch in the face-but in a good way-
Well, the movie started out as some sort of a drama, and then drastically changes into the most creative piece of art I've seen this century.
From the moment in the ensurance-building, the entire tone of the changes, and just becomes a better version of "Doctor Strange 2", since its just so much more creative.
Michelle Yeoh is acting her soul out, and the rest if the cast does as well.
This has propably been the most creative movie i have watched in my life, and i dont think that is ever going to change.
However, a few friends of mine said, the movie was "too much", which is understandable, but cant overshadow, how fun it is, if you do enjoy it.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
What a cracked masterpiece
I watched this after it was recommended to me by a friend. I expected it to take me all week to finish it.
In the end I bingewatched it in one day.
What an exciting story, about society, growing up, and proving yourself - all wrapped up in a story about a sport im not at all interested in.
It is literally 8 hours of exciting boredom.
In addition, the show neglects all clichés there are, the basement isnt scary, but a place of hope and dreaming,
the adoptive mom isnt a grieving witch, but a caring and loving person, and the chess opponents are not just oponents but are given a lot of character to work with. And Anya-Taylor-Joy is giving the best performance in the show.
It is a masterpiece and one of the best shows ive ever watched.
Die Vermessung der Welt (2012)
Relly Really Boring
We watched this garbage in german classes, and it has possibly been one of the worst pieces of cinema I've ever watched.
Terrible settings, inconsistent sound quality, horrible acting and some of the worst green screen I've seen in a long time.
The story of the two scientists of different qualities, gets less important the longer the film goes.
The romantic aspect has been a joke since the first minute and that does not change in the slightest..
Unnecessarily squeezed into the story is also the story you can also find the experiments these two scientists went through.
If you ask me, I cant even tell anymore which genre to fit this into.
Does it want to be a romantic, biopic, comedy, and a drama? Yes!
Is it enough to really tell and clearly put it into one of those? Definitely no!
