The Menu (2022)
Nothing short of brilliant
Viewers assigning a low rating clearly didn't understand the film. "All of these characters were awful." Yes. That was the entire point of the movie.
Some called the movie "pretentious". They're half right. The filmmakers actually poke fun at pretentious people, which was highly enjoyable.
Anyone who has worked at least one shift in the service industry, especially in restaurants, will love this film. It's an adult version of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Even has a character who gives off an Oompa Loompa vibe.
The movie was very well done. Smart. Funny. Grotesque. Highly recommend.
Paul (2011)
Perfect Gen X Movie
If you didn't like this movie, you either don't possess a sense of humor, and/or you hate SciFi.
Great pop culture references. Ensemble cast was fantastic. For those criticizing the portrayal of Christians... This is a comedy. People need to stop being so sensitive and laugh at yourselves.
You'll never get everyone to agree on a movie, but the critiques on this site aren't warranted.
If you enjoyed 'Shaun of the Dead', 'Hot Fuzz', or any of the other Simon Pegg & Nick Frost movies, you will enjoy 'Paul'. ESPECIALLY if you grew up loving 'Star Wars', 'Star Trek', and the 'Alien' franchises. Love this movie!
The Requin (2022)
Wow. Just... Wow.
I don't understand how this movie was green-lighted. I'm assuming someone lost a bet.
Let's set aside the embarrassing CGI for one minute. I mean... The movies on Syfy network have better special effects.
The acting. The acting was sooooo painful to watch. I hope both actors never work again. Yes, it was THAT bad. Like other reviewers have said... I was rooting for the sharks.
Normally, bad movies like this are fun to watch. Not this one. Save yourself and make another choice.
