The Fall Guy (2024)
MOVIE WITHIN A MOVIE
PERFECT DATE MOVIE!!
I love the concept of movie within a movie!! I took my wife and step son to see this, I don't really care for gosling to much, he is self absorbed and a pretty boy. Remember the Titans and Notebook was his 2 best movies.
This movie and roll fit him and his persona, very well. Their wasn't a dull moment in this picture. I was very hesitant on seeing this because of Gosling. But, I sat through it and enjoyed it.
We love how they didn't add too many characters to the storyline. You only need the hero and the co-hero, plus the bad guy and the co-bad guy. Prime example of this theory was Ghostbuster 4. Too many characters involved.
We love how they added Jason Mamoa to the ending. This was his movie as well. This makes Aquaman put to shame.
It really dives into the life of a stuntman and the mindset of one. Watch it and it's a must.
The Karate Kid (2010)
NEGATIVE 100 Disgusting!! Complete Failure of a spin off trying to duplicate a legacy
JACKIE CHAN has done better and was in need of money and needed something to do before his bigger picture. I'm assuming. Karate Kid was about the underdog and learning the true meaning of karate. Karate!! Jackie told Jaden I'll teach you Kung Fu. It should've been called Kung Fu kid. Karate Kid franchise was a huge huge success even the 4th one with Hillary Swank. Which I didn't care for at all. Even with its sequel Netflix series Cobra Kai. Karate Kid is raking in the dough.
Will smith wanted a piece of this and gave the leading role to his Kid. This film was horrible and to horrific to even put this in the Karate Kid universe is a disgrace. Pat Morita would be rolling over in his grave. Jaden smith is a horrible actor. This movie wasn't worth the time or effort for the theater. Helen Keller could have wrote a better picture. Jackie has done better films. His character was realistic and believable to the point of depression, by means of you lost your family in a horrific accident and his depression was real. Taraji was good. But Jaden was annoying. Jaden has no business in pictures and no business on the stage. He is just following his dad's footsteps. Disgusting and disrespectful towards the Karate lifestyle. When I first heard of its release, it was an automatic failure in my book. Will smith has no business in Martial Arts films or series. Jaden brought the ghetto character to a film that has no reason to be involved. Dreadlocks are unnecessary. Very disappointed and very disrespectful towards Karate.
Don't see this even of you had nothing else's to watch.
Major failure.
Civil War (2024)
VERY REALISTIC, ON THE EDGE, LIKELY TO HAPPEN
IN THE EVENT THAT THIS MIGHT HAPPEN, THIS MOVIE WE HAVE BEEN ANTICIPATING FOR MONTHS. MY FAMILY AND I, WERE VERY EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE AND JUST NOW GOT OUT OF THE THEATER MOMENTS AGO. IT DEMONSTRATED THE DIFFERENCE IN SIDES OF THE US AND HUMANITY.
START TO FINISH IT WAS VERY ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT KIND OF PICTURE. THE WHOLE THEATER WAS VERY SILENT AND YOU COULD HEAR A PIN DROP. LAST FILM I SAW WITH THIS KIND OF AMBIANCE WAS AMERICAN SNIPER THE CHRIS KYLE FILM.
IT DISPLAYED EACH GENERATION, YOU HAVE THE JOURNALIST DUNST AND HER PARTNER AS THE ONES WHO LISTEN AND HAVE SEEN ENOUGH TO HAVE THE EXPERIENCE. THE OLDER GUY WAS THE PARENT WHO HAS ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO DETERMINE WHATS WHAT, THEN YOU HAVE THE YOUNG JOURNALIST WHO IS HUNGRY FOR FIELD WORK AND GETTING HER NAME AS A WARE JOURNALIST. SHE WASNT LISTENING AND KEPT BEING A DAREDEVIL CAUSING THE LIFE OF DUNST.
It really didn't display patriotism. Only defending the people. When the President gives up, you're on your own and all you have is each other and the people. But their was still order in chaos.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
TERRIBLY TERRIBLE, SCATTERED, NO DEVELOPMENT
DISSATISFIED, DISAPPOINTING AND SADLY DISAPPOINTED
CROSS EXAMINATION ON THE ORIGINAL PICTURE: THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS WERE INVOLVED WHICH WAS AMAZING AND NOSTALGIC SEEING THEM BRING THEM BACK, SUCH AS STANTZ, ZEDEMORE, VENKMEN, MELMENTZ, PEK, LIBRARIAN, LIBRARY GHOST, SPANGLIER, AND THE ORIGINAL DIRECTOR IVAN REITMEN NAME. YOU CANT HAVE A GHOSTBUSTER MOVIE WITHOUT THEM. ALL THATS MISSING IS DANA, YANOSH, OSCAR (late 30's), and RICK MORANIS's (sure he is retired but, come back for one more run) CHARACTER. I FELT LIKE A KID WATCHING THEM IN ACTION AGAIN. I LOVED THE "GLORY DAYS" REFERENCE AND HOW THEY SAID "I LOVE DOING WHAT I LOVE".
THE NEW CHARACTERS ARE TO MUCH!! THEY CAN ELIMINATE THEM OR AT LEAST FILTER THEM THAT WAY ITS NOT OVERWHELMING THE STORYLINE. THEY KEEP ADDING THE ELEMENT OF "NEW ACTORS, NEW CHARACTERS, NEW IDEAS" THE SPANGLER FAMILY LINE KEPT EGON BACK WHICH I GET YOU CAN'T HAVE A GHOSTBUSTER WITHOUT HIM, BUT STILL WAY TO MANY!!!
NOW FOR THE STORY:
TOOK MY FAMILY TO THIS, IT WAS A LATE SHOWING. ALLOT OF WRONG ELEMENTS WERE ADDED TO THE SCRIPT AND STORYLINE. REBELLING TEENS, TOMBOYISH GIRL, BEING A FREE TEENAGER (Paul Rud referencing getting a tattoo or shoplifting) EATING CHILDREN, TALKING TO GHOSTS (imaginary friend) CANNIBALISM, AND WHAT LOOKED LIKE TEENAGER LESBIAN FLIRTING (i don't know if they were going towards it or leaning towards it. But, it was wrong). IT HAD ALLOT OF CHARACTERS THAT REALLY DIDNT NEED TO BE THEIR, WHICH THROWS THE STORYLINE ALL OVER THE PLACE. PUTTING THE FILM IN TURMOIL, THEM HAVING TO WRITE IN SO MANY CHARACTERS JUST TO REFERENCE THE MAIN VILLAIN. NOTICING NO DEVELOPMENTS IN CHARACTERS WITH ALLOT OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT IN STORYTELLING.
WITH ALL THIS BEING SAID IT LEFT A BAD TASTE IN OUR POPCORN AND SODA. IT NEEDED WORK, AFTER THE FIRST 15-20 MINUTES WE WERE AT A DISAPPOINTMENT FEELING.
SCORE STARTED AT A 10, CHARACTER FAULTS BROUGHT IT DOWN TO A 6, BROUGHT IN ORIGINALS BRINGS IT UP TO A 8, THE ELEMENTS BROUGHT IT DOWN TO A 4. STORYLINE BEING SCATTERED WORSENED THE SCORE TO A 3, GRAPHICS AND SFX BROUGHT IT UP TO A 5.
WE RECOMMEND NOT TO SEE IT UNTIL YOU ARE PREPARED FOR WHAT YOU WILL SEE!! PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE WATCHING.
Bob Marley: One Love (2024)
LONG OVERDUE
BOB MARLEY ONE LOVE
This story was long overdue, but I can imagine why and how come they waited for so long. The person portraying Marley resemblance was perfect. His accent was perfect and portrayal of his life was on point. The trailer was better than the movie I have to say, my family and I saw this and enjoyed it, although it was slow. We didn't know he passed away from cancer. It was awesome watching it and like I've said long overdue.
The political side was on point. His music demonstrated peace though living and he was religious. His demons were the war in Jamaica him trying to make peace in a un-peaceful time.
It wasn't theater worthy, wait for DVD or prime or Netflix. I highly recommend waiting for Netflix or prime to get it, so you can watch it.
Argylle (2024)
PHENOMENAL PICTURE
MORE MOVIES LIKE THESE PLEASE!!!
All the actors and characters are all phenomenal!! -1. Bryce and Sam made a great team. The guy that played Argyle himself the actor who played Superman was hilarious. It was his facial expression's that made his character funny. His nauticalant look was hilarious. Cena was horrible and annoying!! No need to have him in this!! His presence alone killed the movie for me. The trailer with him in it was annoying. I almost didn't see it because of him. Took my family to see it and we loved the action sequences and the gun fights were fun to watch. I hate Samuel L Jackson he is annoying as hell and he's unnecessary for this movie. My score for this film was brought down when I saw Cena he brought it down to a 2. Him hardly In it brought it up to a 3. Just his presence alone brings the overall score down horribly down. What brought it up was the action scenes and Bryce and Sams relationship made the movie and action sequences.
Cena does need to be in pictures he needs to stay in WWE. He's mere presence is insulting. Him opening his mouth is insulting. He brought it down to a 2.
Jackson was useless as well his presence brought it evenly to a 6. He isn't as annoying as cena.
Everyone else brought it up to a 10.
Madame Web (2024)
NO PLACE ON THE SUPERHERO WORLD
Absolute GARBAGE!!
A failed attempt to try and expand the superhero world!!
Special FX were ok, storyline was horrible, if they removed SpiderMan (Peter Parker) from marvel to put this one in its place is nonsense. No relationship to the MCU storyline and no reference to it. Absolute trash. I was waiting for a reference or at least something mentioned. 2003 was the timeframe used in the storyline. At least mention Tony Stark and Nick Fury. But these women characters were a disappointment. Cassie's character resembles Professor X. So I'm thinking these women need to train to become superhero's and be a team. My family and I felt the characters were weak ALL OF THEM!!! The bad guy was very weak!!! No real villain characters. The villain was bad, no power, no story or reference to his strength on how he became rich and his powers. Just the stealing of the spider and that's it. No reason to be attached to the character. We lost interest during the movie.
The pace of the picture was way to slow!!! The character development was to slow to tell. We weren't impressed.
It doesn't deserve the Marvel logo, or anything or attachments. Madame Web more like Madame Fleam.
A negative -17 outta 10. If their goal is to make a trilogy or sequel to this has been planned then they failed miserably. The money they'll score from this will fund the sequels. Major failure.
BAD BADLY BAD
NO INTEREST IN ITS SEQUELS IF ANYTHING IN THE WORKS. NO TIME TO WASTE MAKING IT.
IF THEYRE CONNECTION IS TO MIX IT INTO X-MEN UNIVERSE THEN NO COMMENT. NO PROPS TO EVEN ENCOURAGE IT.
The Iron Claw (2023)
OSCAR NOMINATION IN MY BOOK
Watching the VON ERICHS performances brought back so many memories of when I watched them as a kid growing up. This film brought them back to life and seeing their lives in the ring and lives outside the ring was very deep and very beautiful. Their relationships as brothers touched home for me. This movie definitely Oscar worthy and Oscar contention.
I was very hesitant on Efron portrayal of Kevin, because I always thought of him as a pretty boy and horrible actor. But he proves me other wise. Very well done performance. 👍👍. The brothers portrayals were also remarkable and very memorable. Even the dad was very intense I'm sure it was more intense in real life. But his name was so huge the boys wanted to and needed to live up to his name.
Ric Flairs portrayal wasn't him and wasn't realistic. He didn't sell it as how Ric Flair would've done. He has a arrogance and a flair to himself. This kid didn't sell it. Harley race was awesome. Before he became King Harley Race. I love watching this ..... I'm waiting on The Hart Family movie now. If their will be. Make a trilogy of wrestling family's lives.
It was very sad that the Von Erich curse was real. Live up to the Name and love the sport. Kevin was the last brother. ..... All these years I never knew Kerry had a prosthetic foot. I always thought the Ultimate Warrior was Texas Tornados brother. Lol. They didn't show the moms side of things. It was between the brothers and the dad. I wanna watch it again. I can't wait for it to release on Prime or Netflix. Efron bulked up major.
I highly recommend this picture to anybody who was a wrestling fan of the 70's and 80's and early 90's. Being a promoter has to be very difficult. But Kevin tried his heart out.
10 thumbs up and not a scene was dull.
Absolutely perfect picture.
Gojira -1.0 (2023)
SUPERB AND ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTE
GODZILLA!!
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! No flaws in this picture at all!!!
We saw this and the theater showed the black and white version it was called "Godzilla Minus One Minus Color" lol. We didn't know what to expect, but the movie was well thought out and the screenplay was well thought through. It put Brodericks version to shame, even the new ones, like the Godzilla vs Kong was put to shame.
This paid tribute to the original version. None of the actors over acted and over did anything. The action and drama sequences were all on time, no delays.
Black and white made it more meaningful and more impactful. Reading the subtitles was expected and wasn't a problem.
Bringing out the world war 2 aspect of the story only made it more impacting. Because the Characters were trying to move on after surviving the war, and collecting themselves was emotional and made more impact during the end. Koichi had his own inner war to deal with after surviving the first Godzilla attack, watching him struggling emotionally was impacting. Perfect 10 across the board.
Wonka (2023)
ENJOYABLE AND FEEL GOOD PICTURE
GENE WILDER no one can compare of course!!
This kid paid homage to Gene in playing this role of a historical character and story.
The ompaloompa was the a historical character and a very enjoyable character. He kept the film entertaining.
We saw this one opening night. Hour and fifty something minute film was too long for this, the main story was to explain his love for chocolate and he wanted to share with the world his recipe. But in actuality it's his moms formula.
The rivalry between him vs slughorn was explained slightly. But comparing this to the Gene Wilder version it doesn't make sense. I think they'll do a trilogy explaining the factory and the transportation of the ompaloompas. We enjoyed it and thought it was too late for it's release. This should've been told many years ago.
The additional storyline with Noodle character wasn't needed and it could've been X'd out. We felt it took away from wonka mission.succeeding In taking care of Noodle was more important then Wonkas vision.
8.5 is our final verdict. But a must see for wonka fans.
Totally Killer (2023)
NOTHING INTERESTING ABOUT THIS PICTURE
The main character was annoying and nothing was being solved.
Rookie time traveling mistake, if you're gonna change the course of the future do it right. Unseen and unheard.
She kept messing up on the story of the killer itself, she knew when everyone dies and where everyone dies she has the upper hand. Why didn't she capitalize on it. All she kept doing was partying with her parents and kid versions of her folks friends. She was brought back in plenty of time. And it kept referring to the future, about the events of the past are intercepting the future.
Poorly made and poorly written the trailer made more sense then the movie itself.
Stranger things wannabes .....
Fear Street was way better ......
Cop Land (1997)
NOT SYLVESTERS BEST, NOT HIS BETTER, NOT HIS GOOD, NOT MUCH OF ANYTHING
COPLAND WASNT MUCH OF ANYTHING !!
We were watching this movie tonight on Netflix, and expecting action packed and shooting and relentless violence. Especially with a all star cast, Stallone, Kartel, DeNiro, Liota, Patrick, Rappaort, and Berg. It never explains Stallones character and from the start of the movie, he's hard to read. He seems depressed and bored with his job. He walks in on that mother and child and we see the picture frames you'd assume that he and that guy were partners and he was killed so he's just checking in on that family. BUT nope, everything was opposite of what you think of when you see this!! I'm dissatisfied and disappointed in this part for him.
I'd rather watch Rocky 5 and Demolition Man on repeat.
Whomever booked him this role did a horrible job, this wasn't his cup of tea. He can do better.
After Rocky 5 his roles were going down hill. Expendables series brought him back up.
DON'T SEE THIS EVEN IF YOU WERE HAVING A BAD DAY!!
Silent Night (2023)
PERFECT ACTION PICTURE OF THE YEAR
2023 movie season finished in perfection with this film. Silent Night was perfect. When I first heard it was coming out I thought it was a revamp of the horror film from the eighties. Lol.
"Revenge is a dish best served cold ...." - Khan
This film touched on allot of topics that we all suffer during grief. He acted on how we feel on grief and major losses.
We gave it a 10/10, across the board. IMDb gave it a 6.4!! Why?!!! It was perfectly done. No lines said, just screaming and texting. The action sequences were John Woo perfection, I wanted more action and gore. It deserved more gore. The wife's scenes were rough. They separated, not divorced. You can feel the grief and the pain. It was amazingly written that he prepared for 8 months. I cheered him on all the action scenes. Every time he felt out of it. He kept playing that music box thing to keep his motivation going.
Perfection Perfection!!! I'll watch it again, maybe we missed something. Lol.
The Marvels (2023)
TOO MUCH GOING ON
WHEN I FIRST SAW THE TRAILER FOR THE MARVELS and it added Kamala to it and I felt and knew this movie was going to be all over the the place. They had allot of material to cover and most of it didn't have to be involved. But didn't know how to condense and add it to a 105 min picture.
1st off, I believe Kevin Feige rushed production on this movie. Allot of material to cover but was condensed and it was rushed.
2nd Samuel Jackson was annoying and is very unnecessary to the storyline. He possesses nothing relevant to the Avengers storyline. He's sarcastic personality I felt was useless to the Avengers. His character should've been knocked off instead of Ironman.
3rd Kamala is like Spider-Man (Peter Parker) excited and new to the Avenger group so she is going to be annoying. I feel she is going to be of use to the new Avengers group. Allot more useful then Peter Parker. They X's out Peter Parker's roll to the Avengers universe in time. I would prefer Kamala over Parker any day. They could've also just kept Ms Marvel as a separate show and mature her character and develop the character individually. I felt the Khan family helping Fury out was to much. They should've left them on earth and then bring them back up again at the end.
4th The beginning of the movie with its jumping scenes was to much to try and keep up. The cats was annoying to have added in their, but they saved the characters so they brought the relevance to the characters.
I believe the whole Kids superhero segment will be a fine addition to the story but I think it won't be when they fight the supervillain. Maybe they'll piece the superhero kids to alternate show or series.
Captain Marvel taking over as Ironman and Captain America I don't see a future in her as the leader for the next set. She has some growing up to do, maturity and development as Captain Marvel.
I believe the introduction to the X-men to the Avengers world would be a interesting concept but how are they gonna work it and write it is unknown. They would have to literally rip a hole in space time continuum and merge a villain to battle them both.
We gave it a 5-6 outta 10. Needed more time to write and put more time in production. I hope they don't rush the new Avengers sequel.
The Creator (2023)
STRANGE
IN A WORLD OF A. I and the previous films when A. I takes over .... Terminator franchise covers how A. I can think for itself and when it's being threatened; it reacts and reacts violent. This one covers A. I growth and production gets out of hand and when threatened they react ... violent and launches a nuke that wipes out Los Angeles .... then the government launches a counter attack against A. I to wipe out their existence. Mostly wiping out the ultimate weapon against humanity. BUT A. I wants to co-exist in peace.
Observations:
We noticed this movie makes reference to Revelations "I am the Alpha and the Omega ...." - Revelation 1:8. When The guy tries to find the name of the robot ... AO meaning Alpha and Omega is written on her ear.
With what's happening now with the Israel war. The night sky being lit with bombs and explosions.
To many references to the end times. An abomination due to that woman creating a A. I child and this child being like CHRIST, how the robot stops man from killing robots.
The robots resembling humans.
My family and I gave this movie a 6.2. We couldn't get into the character and it wasn't believable.
It's very Star Wars style. Funny because the writer also did Rogue One. Economy going down and the robotics look old but the government tech is high class.
Force of Nature (2020)
TERRIBLE
MEL GIBSON HASNT BEEN THE SAME SINCE "APACOPLYITO" , his pictures haven't BEEN the same. I was very disappointed in the villains characters. The story line of why they are doing this heist. Searching for these priceless paintings isn't enough reason. IT WASNT ENTERTAINMENT IT WAS NOT EVEN A POPCORN WORTHY FILM.
Mel Gibson usually plays a tough and rough and rugged character. He play someone dying of bad organs. He over sold and over acted. He must've been desperate enough to take this role. And a low budget film. Then his character dies, made the film much worse then it already was .... Mel!!! You can do better!!
The two characters falling for each other made it horrible. The film started off with a 5, then the characters development and story progression was all over the place you couldn't keep on track, brought it down to a 2.
Don't see this picture!!
Meg 2: The Trench (2023)
Beneath Statham!! TOOOO FAR DEEPER THEN BENEATH HIM!!
THIS IS BENEATH STATHAM!!!
IF I WERE HIM I'd SUE MY AGENT FOR BOOKING THIS PICTURE!!!! THEN FIRE HIM. And FOR THE FUN OF IT FIRE MY MANAGER.
MEG 1 was better. If this was in contention to match JAWS it's way to "not even close to being in contention"
#1 JAWS
#2 DEEP BLUE SEA
#3 OPEN WATER
.........
.........
#5,000,000 MEG 2.
Sure, It's a film to leave your brain at the door, but you can't help but judge. Wrath of Man and Expendables was right up his alley. The setting of it being at a research lab was perfect. But they really studied the shark to much. The fact on Keeping one in captivity was a poor choice. And they set up body suits just to handle the trench dives, and set up multiple research cabs to explore more sections. If I were the team leader I'd say no, after my failed experience on the first attempt. Get out of it and only do what I know. I think they should've left it alone and not explored more .... I'd say rewrite the book and sequel to the film and do another script. The Kracken idea was good. But I figured they'd do a Meg vs Kracken match. Since we saw 3 Megs. All 3 gang up on and face the Kracken. BUT NOOOOOO!!!
My scoring on this film:
CGX: 10
Story: 3
Acting: -9
Shark killings: 10
Actions: 10
Creativity: 7
Comedy: 3
Imagination: 4
I gave it a 10 as soon as the picture started. But the DJ character brought down to a 1.5. Then Statham blowing the sharks head off brought it up to a 2 and Statham running the chopper blade through its upper jaw was awesome it brought it to. 5. Then the fact they didn't have a Megs vs Kracken brought down to a 3.
Sound of Freedom (2023)
Remarkably Well Done
This picture was well made, a very sensitive subject and very sensitive issue on Child Trafficking and Child Abduction. We saw this movie last night on the night of its premiere. No words can describe this movie at all.
Jim Caviziell was a phenomenal actor and this movie had a fantastic writer and director. Not a bullet was fired in this. We were expecting to see something different, it could've gone gory, but for the message being sent it was gory enough.
A parents and human being with a souls worst feeling and fear is realized. This is a reality that no one wants to face and see, but with today's world it's a reality that must be faced.
This movie makes me angry and makes me emotional seeing it and thinking about it. At the end Jim stated that this was filmed and completed 5 year ago. And due to its subject sensitivity its release was postponed.
It really dug deep in the state of mind when a police officer in charge of these missions to get world criminals. I'm glad they caught the criminals that did this, and brought the family together. It covered allot. What it takes to catch one and what it takes to catch them all at once. The island sting was perfect. Make sure they didn't leave or hide. How do you as a actor get in the mind of a character of this disgrace?
10/10 all the way, not a scene was wasted, and a moment not taken for granted.
No one else could've portrayed this character to this magnitude. Well done. Highly recommended for anyone.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)
PREDICTABLY PREDICTABLE
In all honesty, I'm not a fan of the transformers movie, I loved the original cartoons. Nothing can beat the original cartoons. These movies are to much of a headache for me and they spent to much money in this series. My step son loves this series and so does my wife, so we just now saw this .... and came out the theater as we speak.
Review scores:
My step son: 7
My wife: 7
To predicting and can't believe they'll tie it in with GI Joe. She hates Pete Davidson.
Me: 5
What kept my score positive was they kept the original Optimus Prime voice. I love they brought Michelle Yeoh, Ron Pearlman and Michael Kelly that's what kept it positive. I hate Pete Davidson.
The fact that this movie is a prequel to the First film in the series and a cross over for GI Joe is quite funny because Avengers is doing the same for X-men.
We just thought it was to much and to predictable with the action sequences. They really made Optimus Prime character a has been. Like what he went through caught up to him. But according to the timeline it's only the beginning.
Don't mess with a original series. Just leave it as a cartoon and leave it alone.
A Man Called Otto (2022)
GREAT MOVIE
My wife and I are huge Tom Hanks fans, this was one of his best work in regards to dramatic pictures and the topic of suicide is something that hit hard. His role of an old man that is so set in his ways and isn't open for change, and has a routine and doesn't like when people break rules is quite funny lol. He had no purpose in his life, because his wife was his purpose. And he lost her. So he lost purpose and interest in life. Allot of changes were happening and he didn't wanna adjust to it. Then he meets his neighbors newly moved in and they give him purpose. His old neighbor friends gave him purpose as well. I love it because that Home Depot scene described me to the T lol.
Anyway very great film, we gave it a 9/10.
Fast X (2023)
EXPECTATIONS were low, but having none ELEVATED the movie
ACTION PACKED from beginning to end .... I had low expectations of this movie, knowing their was going to be a second part to this movie told me everything I needed to know. Jason Mamoa was the perfect Villain in this franchise. He topped every villain in the series. Their was allot of stories being done here. Diesel's conflict vs Mamoa, Letty in jail , the 4 in Europe, Cena and his nephew, and the agency. It was difficult to keep up and keep track. Allot of scenes felt unnecessary. It was a all star cast and great actors assembled excluding Cena and a tyrese. And it helped build up to what's gonna happen in the second part.
Cena was very annoying, he is a horrible actor when his character blew up, I was cheering it on. Tyrese was also annoying, Ludacris had moments of annoyance but like I've said before and stand by my personal opinion entertainers shouldn't be in film.
In short the final review: Mamoa villain portrayal led the film to an 8 his feminine side wasn't really necessary but it added humor to the character and when they explained his past of being nuts it explained him in detail , then Tyrese being annoying brought it down to a low 6, then Cena coming in the scene lowered it to a low 4. And Cena being blown up brought it back up to a high 7 and was the highlight of the movie. Tyrese was annoying the movie and flow. Brought it down to a 6.
Don't have expectations when seeing this picture let it happen.
Abandoned (2010)
Brittany's last film
Considering it was her last picture, and her film history was up and down, going from blockbusters to straight to video films. I understand that when you start off in film you begin with low budget and work your way to big name films. What I enjoyed about this film Brittany's acting. She was a love struck girl who worked allot and went through depression time dealing with loss. Then she discovers her boyfriend of 4 months has disappeared and can't find him and the nurse team thinks she is looney. Then he appears outta nowhere for ransom then it was all a rooze. Then the detective solves it and comes to her aid.
Cinematography was terrible but the story and story kept it at float.
Girl, Interrupted (1999)
EXCELLENT PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMATIC FILM
Girl, Interupted. I never got to see this film in its entirety. Last weekend I finally did. My wife recommended it and we finally sat down together and watched it. Angelina Jolie was definitely a great a actress for this film. She does look crazy and looney. I felt she overpowered everyone in her popularity as a actress at that time. Ryder was great but her character was confusing and scattered. But it leveled the ambiance of the movie and Murphy was superb. She was definitely the actress that should've won the award or at least nominated. Like I said Jolie overpowered everyone. Murphy's character was spoiled and insecure and definitely was disturbed to were she was released because of her father. Jolie telling her and breaking down what was truly going on. Murphy commits suicide. Like I said Murphy should've won. Excellent performance.
The Covenant (2023)
Bond of a Brotherhood that can't be broken
One of the many most realistic war films I've seen in years, next to Blackhawk Down and Saving Private Ryan. Definitely in the that top 10 field. Jake Glynendall definitely brings the character to life and the depth of the character that is going through the trials he is and the tragedy this character suffered. The brotherhood that the military has and the bond that can't be broken was definitely delivered and felt here. The Covenant is defined as such: bond and a oath that can't be broken. And this film titled and delivered.
Biden ordered the evacuation of the troops from Afghanistan and the remaining interpreters/translators stayed but the price was on their heads was sad. This film was perfectly done. Jake was superb and outstanding he delivers and brings perfect performances. Please go see it!!!
Terrifier (2016)
TERRIFYINGLY TERRIFYING
Terrifyingly Terrifying makes IT seem like a walk in the park ....
Clowns were never my thing ... I always thought clowns were evil. Pennywise was a supernatural character based off of a alien. Terrifier was based off a psychopath. It was what it says the title is .... Terrifying. It was what nightmares are made of, especially when it comes to clowns and if your paranoid on the subject "what if clowns are stalker psychopaths?"
Definitely isn't for the younger generation. Very brutal and it just gets in your head. My wife and I aren't ready for part 2 yet. We have to get ready for it and process what we saw. That smile says allot. Most disturbing kill scenes I've seen in a horror picture. End of the film you just don't know how he came back, he shoots himself in the head and that's it. But he comes back. Lol. We wanna see a origins film.
In our book we have this film a 9-10. It was everything in a horror film. The entire category list in a horror film this movie covered it all!
