Although it propably shocked moviegoers when it came out... I think that it still not a good movie. It is boring, bad production, and the cadavers don't even look real... hehe after watching Traces of Death collection you know what cadavers looklike...

But I do think that JB did something unique, and new in the time this was released... the second Nekromantik is a little better although it is not a good movie either, but they are good references for future movie makers and horror fans... but for other people they are just boring... they propably won't even sicken you as the production is so cheap. I think that Saw-series (which is complete crap) is at the same level of violence, but better produced... although stupid Americans who fear their little god find the sexuality parts offensive... sexuality here in Europe is much more tolerated... we are not all born of a virgin =D (I actually have many American friends... who also think that the other conservative part of America suxxx... ) I gave 3/10...

I went to the movie to be entertained. However came out quite irritated.

Irritation was due to the fact that movie seemed very ignorant, as it tried to be somewhat intellectual? I have studied African matters in great extent, and I found that the movie was just playing on the stereotypes from there. Like the Nigerians, who are blamed for everything in South Africa (even though most migrants are not even from Nigeria). There are hundreds of big crime syndicates in South Africa that are very violent, but they are not all Nigerian.

Then what I found irritating was the fact these beings were altruistic? So human, even when they come from a completely different planet. I like real movies, but this was made for ignorant people playing on their stereotypical thinking, and little added glory and goodness for the viewer... happy endings make better bucks I read from a Hollywood marketing book.

I just found the fact that movies that simulate suffering, and displacement of people due to conflicts and hunger are the only ways that people can somewhat even see the real problems. This movie is testimony to the ignorance of the general public on almost all matters... reality is so terrible that people cannot face that. It could also be that I'm getting old, and too aware of reality.

Did I see this film already? Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1000 Corpses,... all bad hillbilly movies and messed up families.

The movie is not even that gruesome... because the bodies don't look real. I don't get this... watch some real dead b o d i e s before making movies like this.

This movie is just a copy of a copy of a copy. The beginning was like from 28 days later, or zombie movie.

I would skip this one! The ending was worst crap I've seen in a while! I hope the makers quit making movies thank you.

I would not condemn this film, but the advances in areas of computer graphics has rendered this film somewhat old. The graphics look like they have been made by some teenager with flash. However there are quite nice cinematic pictures... I would suggest this to any cinematographer.

For those who hate nudity... we're all born naked. We take showers, and we do not live in the Victorian era anymore (except perhaps the some US-suburbs have similar culture). I would not see anything bad in showing this to high school students... although I would think that most would be bored to death.

I watched it gladly, as it was so well made.

I think that this was once a great film. At the time it was made it was... but time has passed, and as everything things, ideas, ... do get old. This has value for its antiquity, its influence on other film makers, and as a landmark of films. However I do think that this film is tedious, and somewhat outdated, and the cinematography is definitely is not great by the standards today. I mean mere balancing technology, sound design, etc. are just on a completely different level. As what comes to cruelty... I don't know (I'm a vegan for 12 years), people eat meat everyday, and animals do get tested with chemicals, I don't see why would this killing of animals for film be any different? Morality is only for human kind... and it is our debate, and no absolute conclusion will ever be reached. Yes the movie is good, (in a sense that Mona Lisa is great), but I would not be tempted to watch this movie ever again. Yes and f*ck religion.

OK I lied... almost all have the element of long hair doing this and that.

If you're a little teen liking seeing horror movies for the first time in your little life then OK, I do get it.

On the positive side the cinematography is good. This is not a micro-budget -dv movie...

I didn't get scared even once. I thought horror movies were supposed to make feel nausea and scare so that sh*t in your pants.

Not this one... luckily I didn't pay for this one as my friend rented this one \o/.

I think that these horror movies have turned quite a bit more non-scary when I stopped smoking hashish and weed prior to the experience few years ago. For some strange reason I remember what's going on =D.

It's not bad, but it's not great... or maybe I'm a tired man who don't feel nothing no more.

And I do hate christians and religion =D.

I know what is wrong with these movies... the pattern to scare you is always the same. Silence broken by fast movement of some unnatural effect accommodated with lots of bass... the sounds are also so convergent in all these movies. It is like as if these movies don't take risks of any kind and take the people watching for granted...

I mean I'd like to see some really disturbing stuff... I think that I could make a really disturbing movie. Something in the vain of modern Exorcist crossed with old Italo-horror. Also taking utter violence, and making bodies look real... I mean bodies hardly ever look real in movies.

The beginning news reels were good... they really shakes up the movie to come.

But then you're immediately struck by awful cinematography, sound-design, etc. In those days it wasn't so and so... but this movie has aged quite a lot. I mean I was expecting quite a lot from the beginning...

Then it turns into a running from place to place, and bits revealed here and there. To modern standards this movie has aged... and not well.

If you're into old thriller-slasher-murder movies... you might want to check this out.

If not... well this movie is quite boring. Maybe it has some message... so does many other movies. I mean this is not great, it has become old, and at least I didn't get anything more than the beginning...

So think twice before buying!

i know people that are supposed to be these people. no i don't consider them as my friends...

they are much more messed up in the brain. they are tired, and angry people...

the silly tattoos,... these people are teen actors. the real thing is much more tired... the people are just too pretty in this movie. and their friends are not half as f*cked up as the real people like or they seem so pretentious...

the women are too thin... don't have beer bellies. the tattoos are fake... =D=D this movie doesn't seem real.

i've seen some documentaries of nazies... the real nazies are not as half good looking as these =D. the music is kinda crappy...

I know what is wrong with this movie... the people are too happy... that's it. People who are into drugs, and beign a thug... have this gloom around them. It follows them trhough... there's nothing nice about them. And they do stuff that seems to be completely out of their control.

this movie was more drama than horror or mystery.

no good music.

very modest, and nothing really scary happened...

i don't know... i like my movies more painted black.

i gave all my points for good cinematography.

other than that i don't think i would recommend this to serious horror fans... this is good for people who don't watch any horror.

this is your typical teen movie...

there's just nothing great about this.

it's not scary either. the hanging body in the beginning didn't scare me at all. it seemed rather pretentious... and very predictable.

then nothing happens in a long time. the movie just lags..

the nerdy girl isn't particularly interesting.

tomie is kinda hot, but she doesn't show her tits in this flick... =D=D=D

i guess i've seen worse, but i would skip this one... don't rent it.

lots of good looking lesbian vampires, what could go wrong? i don't know... i mean this one doesn't have the magic of other hammer films. it seems to lack something... the lesbianism is there for male audiences, and i think they were a little out of ideas...

i don't wonder why hammer films eventually quit. the later movies have this kinda average quality.

yet it is very watchable and entertaining. if it came from TV, you can easily spend your time watching this. don't buy it full price on DVD though... unless you get it from the discount section for 20% of original price.

nice tits, and cute girls... + vampires. you could rent this with your girlfriend saying you thought it was a romantic movie, she won't mind... she'll pretend to be offended, but you'll get great sex in return =D=D=D=D

OK at parts. but just too crappy at some other parts...

i mean i know the camera he is using pretty well... and the whole picture has been propably shot with that... but why put some cheezy TV-effect or reshoot through a monitor... i looks disgusting? this is a dv-movie. it is OK at being such... so there the three points. other than that nothing really astonishing here.

it really isn't great movie, but it's not a bad one. if you are starting to make movies then this is good to watch, what can be done with 30 000 Euros (40k $).

those dvcams are just so light that getting good hand held picture doesn't really work... looks kinda crappy. i think that they should have gotten a some steadyshot get better picture.

not that horrendous though... some interesting dialogue.

you could rent this if interested in dv-work... other than that maybe pass.

after seeing a real dead child live, and watching traces of death collection, basically seen all the REAL terrors of humanity, i've been quite skeptic about these kinds of movies.

this was not surprisingly utter crap. if you haven't seen any other movie that contains lots of gore, then this movie probably scares you.

otherwise... i was immediately struck when the so so terrible synth violins and quire started playing... get some real music... i've always thought that bad synth music just makes film a cheap one.

the name snuff has nothing to do with this one... watch guinea pig (and read the aftermath) series those are more snuff (even though they are complete crap as well). i don't know what so special was about this movie.

if i hadn't seen all the horrors that i have seen, and hadn't listened to a lot of good MUSIC (well produced too like Arcturus, Ulver, Navicon Torture Technologies, Cold Meat Industries, Mayhem, Horrorcore, some Evol Intent and other intense stuff...) maybe then you'll like this... which makes you anyways pretty ordinary person. (I would NOT recommend the Traces of Death collection to anybody who doesn't want to be traumatized for life =D)...

You won't miss a thing. Don't get this to your DVD collection. Rather get Belgian Man Bites Dog, Human Porc Chop, Irreversible, The Uninvited, Tell Me Something or even Happy End?.

The sex scene is pointless. Manson ripoff =D. This one lacked the feeling, and intensity it claimed. If the title had been boring people with some mild nudity and little gore then I would have given it 5 =D...

And yes... I will make a better film than this in the future (I think then people can bitch about my film if I fail =D=D=D). I got pain, and I can give pain on FILM! HAIL Satan!

I'm sad to say that this is the best of Finnish cinema. Finnish cinema is otherwise uttercrap! I wouldn't say that this is a good movie... it's entertaining and definitely worth watching.

However, it is like all Aki's movies. Nothing new here either... I mean... I think that Man Without Memory is better. The newest movie by aki is worse than all the rest...

Yes rent it and see if you haven't seen other Kaurismäki movies. I think that the paste is a little slow... also the cinematography is definitely NOT great.

People are like people who live in the country side in Finland. Some people are still doing a lot worse than this... I've seen so many junkies and alcoholics in my life... that the life of this couple may be poor, but definitely not as complicated as could be.

Still this is the best of Finnish cinema, which is otherwise not even mentionable. =D

i sometimes wonder, when there are so many movies done in the 20th century why only so few are remembered. the reason is that the movies that people do remember and cherish are just so damn good.

these movies have aged a little...

this is the historical cinema that everyone should see. I'm not against capitalism (except issues concerning nature, energy, medicine and war), man I'm liberal... but I do think that the fast-living modern western person even though smart is a cultural dumbass =D. I can't find any of the Fellini movies in my 2 of the closest video-rental shops. Maybe this doesn't sell... crap does. People want to see crap... tune into the frequency of reality-TV and get fat from sugars =D=D=D=D=D

the camera work for that time is marvelous. it's almost perfect.

i don't complain about the script too much, but i didn't think that this one is the most interesting of his movies. for example i liked Roma much more... i can see why this one got an Oscar... but i it is rather personal preference. i do like movies a little darker...

it is a little too witty for me...

also the movie-making aspect kinda gets boring. the English / Italian aspect seems to be there for the commercial value?

i give points usually for cinematography, production, story, etc. especially the story part is very PERSONAL... so the only minus points for this film are from that. i haven't given a ten nor have i given a 1 ever... there's not a perfect film...

it is still a must see for EVERYBODY, well at least anybody who values cinema.

i mean people who complain about plot are idiots... well most are =D.

this movie is the best living description of a life in a city.

i think that these should be the movies shown to people on TV. no it's crap after more bull after more shaissenburgen... =D but people like only bad movies. (not all) but my old friends who have gone through college, and work. they seem reasonably intelligent, but when it comes to culture these people fail miserably... oh well =D definitely one of the best of fellini...

This one hasn't aged that well though... I mean, if you do like old movie then this is definitely a "good" horror movie.

I think that although original, and people got their ideas from these... it is not that great. Yes do watch this for the historical reasons... and recommended for horror fans.

Other than that it is a little boring, and I didn't get much out of this. It was watchable of course, and I've seen a lot worse movies...
