The Shepherd (2008)
It's so far from BAD.. it's the worst.
Technically I'am a Van Damme Fan, or I was. this movie is so bad that I hated myself for wasting those 90 minutes. Do not let the name Isaac Florentine (Undisputed II) fool you, I had big hopes for this one, depending on what I saw in (Undisputed II), man.. was I wrong ??! all action fans wanted a big comeback for the classic action hero, but i guess we wont be able to see that soon, as our hero keep coming with those (going -to-a-border - far-away-town-and -kill -the-bad-guys- than-comeback- home) movies I mean for God's sake, we are in 2008, and they insist on doing those disappointing movies on every level. Why ??!!! Do your self a favor, skip it.. seriously.
Sunshine (2007)
Starts Good.. Ends with a DISASTER !
I had high hopes for this film. Although Danny Boyle's movies, to date, have ranged from the sublime (i.e. "Trainspotting," "Shallow Grave") to the ridiculous ("The Beach," "28 Days Later"), there has been a real buzz about this film prior to its release, and the trailer was intriguing. While the film is not without meritthe interior set design of the spaceship is visually arresting and the CGI rendering of space and the sun is literally stunningI found the film to be somewhat less than the sum of its parts.
Clearly ambitious in scope, and interesting for much of its running time, the film fails to answer some of the big questions that it raises and seems to get away from itself near the end. It also requires an unusually large suspension of disbelief from the viewerif one is to accept its central premise and subsequent plot developments. I also found the experience somewhat derivative; the film certainly owes a debt to Tarkovsky's "Solaris" (1972) and Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968), both masterpieces of their time. But the film was also reminiscent of more recent schlock like "Event Horizon," begging the question of why did the director not try harder to make a more interesting and relevant contribution to a recently uninventive and uninspiring genre?
Underworld: Evolution (2006)
Still.. the best i've ever seen !!
What a wonderful director, with a wonderful great and realistic special effects.. The sequel to the $100 million worldwide hit, "Underworld: Evolution" continues the saga of war between the aristocratic Death Dealers and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). The film traces the beginnings of the ancient feud between the two tribes as Selene (Kate Beckinsale), the beautiful vampire heroine, and Michael (Scott Speedman), the lycan hybrid, try to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines. The fast-paced, modern-day tale of deadly action, ruthless intrigue and forbidden love takes them into the battle to end all wars as the immortals must finally face their retribution.
don't u ever try to avoid or skip the original one.. a must seen..!!
