Another Life (2019)
Second season way better than the first...
First few episodes of season 1 had me pulling my hair in frustration, I mean what's with the teen drama - I thought humans would send the best of the best for the most important space mission in history - not youths with severe drama issues... BUT it's not worse than that you can scroll the mouse and zap through without subtracting anything from the show - on the contrary it makes S1 half decent, it's not like you miss anything important.
And season 2 was heck of a lot better!
The CGI and props is fine, doesn't feel at all like a low budget series - I only had some cast issues first few episodes..
If there's a season 3 I'll watch it!
Space: Above and Beyond (1995)
Does not stand up to time...
Remember watching this and thinking it was good, now 25 years later I find everything about it increadibly cheesy,, the brawls.. the dialogue.. even the CGI is increadably poor for that age... nope - it just doesn't cut it..
The Last Kingdom (2015)
Truly captivating!
I was really sceptical to try the series as I remembered just zapping through the first episode couple of years back, but I decided to give it a real go... and boy did I get hooked - watched all three seasons in like five days, I couldn't help myself.
Really captivating drama with some great fighting scenes once in a while, and I just love the historical parts of it.
All the actors are amazing and more than once did some scenes bring tears to my eyes.
I just NEED a season 4 mmkay? :)
Wo de fu qin mu qin (1999)
Wonderful story that will bring tears to your eyes
This movie is a roller-coaster between joy and sorrow, one moment you're crying when the love of her life leaves the village, only to cry from happiness five minutes later when she finds a lost item given to her by the same man. I do not think I have ever seen such a beautiful story and screenplay. Many times during the movie I was brought to tears. Both from sadness as well as from happiness. I have just seen Ziyi Zhang in a marvelous part I will never forget. She deserves an Oscar for the part she played if you ask me,
no one has ever moved me as much as she just did, I still have tears in my eyes...
