Noryang: Jugeumui Bada (2023)
Slow motion is so annoying and pointless this could have been 1 hr 30 minute movie
Entire movie is talking, talking, talking, translating from Chinese to Korean, adding the time of this movie to be a lot longer. Fine, this is how it actually happened, using translators. Then 30 minutes of amazing battle scene and then 20-30 minutes of slow motion of the battle scene that completely killed the entire movie. Why? Why waste my time slowing everything down for that long? I guess the director and the editor keep falling asleep when they watch the movie and forgot to edit things out or dragged the slow motion and fell asleep. At a certain point the battle becomes repetitive, the scenes of people's reaction is beyond repetitive. The banging of the drum should be normal pave to keep the momentum of the fight and then gradually slow it down. But nope.. total one hour wasted watching this 2 hours and 30 minutes movie.
Mothers' Instinct (2024)
The definition of the movie is based on their title
I'm reading the reviews and they don't like the plot, fine. But let's rewind this a bit and understand what this movie is really about. The title speaks for itself. It can be any plot, it's not a true crime or a thriller that needs a twist and all the gimmicks to make this movie work. It's about two great actresses who performed to their absolute best to provide the little details of what the title indicated. I am not a mother or a female but I do understand based on their performance what they go through, even for a small glimpse. If you judge this movie because of the plot then you have missed what this movie is about. There's many movies out there with the same line "the parent should not have to bury their child". This is yet another story about that, in some ways. But this goes deeper and shows us how they live. Both of them, being mother's, showed us an incredible performance. Each second, each scene, each reaction, every little thing they do like making a sandwich speaks volume and is a performance you need to submerged yourself. And the ending... Well... The last 10-15 minutes? It gets a bit crazy and probably didn't need it.... It would have been a better movie if they also provided a few scenes from Annes perspective to drive that conclusion home.
Syupeorichi Ibangin (2024)
the commentary is completely useless
What is the point in having three people comment on every 4th-6th scene? All they do is point out the obvious and say wow every single time? Completely annoying and no point... this should be called a reaction video of the super rich in korea. I had to stop watching after 4 minutes into it. If there was a way to mute their nonsense noise making then maybe i would have watched this a bit longer. All they do repeat the scene, "look at the bag", "look at the room", "wow", "wow", "wow", "they are going into the room", "wow", "what?", "wow", "wow", "wow", "wow", "wow". You can understand the amount of "wow" and the entire 4 minutes into, i am trying to understand why they are even there.. do they need to be there to help explain how rich these people are? Are they trying to invoke me agree with their "wows"?
John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA (2024)
Is this the next gen of talk shows?
Skits in the episode... horrible... theme of the first episode.. coyote? Wtf? Taking peoples calls thats not interesting.. all they were doing is waste your time with nonsense. Why are the guests even there? Will Ferell was probably the only good bit. The monologue? It was good. John as a talk show host, not so good... it is live, you need someone who has done this a million times to make this a goot show. A standup comedian who only talks to the audience, now ends up talking to the guest, you need more practice. I can see him constantly thinking about things to say or giving up on things. Long pauses, hesitation.. not great... even the lowest quality that SNL has done in the past is better than these skits they put together.
Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut (2024)
Finally a health documentary that is worth watching.
Finally... A real documentary on health with actual studies.. most Netflix shows are just having people sit and eat and test rapidly to trick people that it is good. But this one really dives in. As for the cartoon, I don't see any other way to present the bacterias, watching a scene with bacteria doing something under a microscope can be... A bit boring.. everyone is different and have their opinions, whether you like the animation or not.. and that is what's so great about this documentary because it is saying exactly that. Your body is different... Whether your a child or an adult... The information presented is very simple and easy to understand.
Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
Zack Snyder added twice the slow motion because everyone complained about it
Knowing that he tried to pitch Disney that this would be a great star wars movie simply by copying seven samurai just tells you how creative he really is. Julius Caesar scene? Really? The entire village is about to burn to the ground and Zack Snyder is adding immense amount of slow motion, giving enough time for the bad guys to do invade. The entire village would have been obliterated due to the slowness of cutting crops and running very slowly. On top of that the amount of sun glares, light flares... everything is flaring and hazy. How can you have both of them at the same time? Either the entire universe is polluted and hazy but crispy enough to provide immense amount of glare/flares. It doesn't make sense. When Lora and the general was talking the sun didn't even match their conversation, horrible attention to detail. Useless scenes. Call it what is is... Copy seven samurai and add space and star wars. He added more slow motion in part two than part one... I think he did on purpose due to the amount of people complaining about it. Viewer discretion advice. The amount of slow lotion and flares is appalling.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Slow as always
I didn't realize this was Zack sunders until I kept pausing this movie to do something else. His passion and love to slow everything down is ridiculous. All his movies can be cut short by 30% and this would have been a decent movie. Besides all the b-rated actors it didn't sell the movie. If it were unknown actors it might have made this more real. Visual appealing? On some occasions, the tiresome slow plot? It's a good movie to fall asleep with. I can't fall in love with the story since there's so many like Dune and other types that doesn't really give me a reason or tell the difference. It's just another costume design.
Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game (2022)
I'm 5 minutes in and I could not handle it any longer
It started nice, I really though the guy in the first scene (interview scene) was the guy (Roger Sharpe). I went along with it, but of course, I quickly realized it wasn't him, which threw me off. Why add that scene at all? Not trying to spoil it but you might understand my reaction if you watch it. Then the young fake Roger Sharpe shows up and bam, it hits you. The fake mustache. It's in your face, you just watch every scene and look at the mustache and ask yourself why am I watching this? I couldn't pay attention to anything else but the mustache. It then zooms closer and you can see the obvious, and it kept showing it and showing it and after 5 minutes in, I stopped watching. Now,, im working and watching this at the same time, the directors approach to show the fake interview every now and again was a but annoying, unnecessary. Finally the story gets better and the mustache still exists, then the fake interview interrupts the movie again for no reason. The ending is what made sense of the mustache. The young Sharpe with no facial hair and with an inch of mustache hair was finally explained. That photo should have been shown to us at the very beginning. But nonetheless the mustache was really bad.
Extrapolations (2023)
every celebrities in the world couldn't save...
Every celebrities in the world couldn't save a climate change movie.. it's a bit ironic? It's a slow movie. It's most likely contracts from celebrities to get a maximum screen time as possible, to have a say in why climate change is important.
This would have been a better documentary with celebrities with each of their own section and contribution than this movie.
It's more about creative future of what might happened. Nothing really to make this a benefit movie to understand or even blame buying yogurt via plastic cups is ruining the planet but its healthy.
Doesn't tackle how vegan people are drinking almond milk when there is scarcity of water.
There is no angle, everyone is to blame but it's just concepts that doesn't make sense.
Poker Face (2023)
Good for anyone who likes to get annoyed
Picture a human being who accidently received a special gift and now goes around thinking she is suppose to do good for everyone. Goes out to the world and see that everyone has issues and she is able to solve every single problem. On top of that, she annoys every single one so that she can satisfy her anxiety from this "gift".
For someone who lay lowed to all of a sudden starts to use this gift doesn't quite add up. If she first developed this gift then it would make sense.
She also has a keen eye to details and investigative perspective in life who knows how to come to a conclusion every single time. There is no midpoint, no climax. Right from the start she is perfect and i dont see how her character develops at all.
Also, imagine someone so close to you and using their index finger to keep pointing and hitting you with their finger to ask you question every second of the day in your life. This is the type of show this is.
