Moonfall (2022)
The stories were told
This first half of this movie feels like a bad mashup of a million different ideas that have all been told at this point and when the movie finally steps into the finale which is surprisingly something new it feels bland and like they focused more on effects than on what's happening.
These things are less objective than the review above but I also didn't like the premise that is to ,,confirm a conspiracy", and the product placements and constant reminders how one of the main characters ,,loves Elon" made this movie annoying at times and I was definitely sure that I'm watching something on Prime Video. -.-
Chernobyl (2019)
A very moving plot-driven document
Chernobyl like the title suggests is a show about the catastrophe of Chernobyl. An event so big that even though I wasn't born when it happened I know all about it because people were talking about it to this day. So the fact that even though we knew basically everything about it and this show still surprised us with it's plot is outstanding. Chernobyl takes it's topic a bit further, everyone knows what happened there so it tells it's story from a different perspective. Throughout this show you'll see perspectives of the nuclear plant workers, men in power and normal town people. It's amazing how it doesn't treat the explosion as a surprise but everything around it, the characters the smaller events. It really is worth a watch to see how big of a deal it was, even if you thought that you knew everything you needed to know about it like me - trust me you're gonna be amazed, amazed and sad.
Breaking Bad (2008)
Timeless classic
If someone asked me ,,what's a perfect show in your opinion?" I would say Breaking Bad. I know this is not a ,,hot take" but believe me, this show is as good as people paint it to be. Breaking Bad is and will be a timeless classic, I'll not be surprised if in the future folks would analyze it in schools like lectures. It is already analyzed in film related universities and colleges because of how good it is. It's next level writing, difficult topics and social commentary makes it the best Drama series there is. It also contains one of the if not the most iconic endings I've ever seen - this show will not leave you disappointed. Easiest recommendation I've done.
The Owl House (2020)
A very good animated show with a thoughtful story
There are so many animations today yet only few can reach a higher quality point. Owl House is one of them. This animation will surely be remembered as one of the best, right next to things like Gravity Falls. It's very enjoyable to watch right from the start, the stories that are told have good motives behind them, the characters are well written and the animation is in this sweet zone of being simple styled yet very detailed and pleasant to watch. Also a surprising thing for a Disney show - it has a very good LGBT representation! It doesn't feel as corny as Netflix's... well every attempt at it. It actually feels like the it's author understands it. Well... if you follow the news you probably know that this show got cut but it doesn't mean it's not worth to watch! I'm waiting impatiently for season 3 and recommend this one greatly!
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
The closest thing to a perfect cartoon
Avatar is a very good show which I've seen at least 3 times. It's one of those shows that you watch as a kid and then come back to it as an adult and you still have fun. But it's not only good because of nostalgia, it has a very good plot, amazing written characters and it will surprise you many times throughout. Even though the main plotline is established this show has many tricks up it's sleeve. The characters in this show will make you attached to them, even the evil ones. It also looks amazing, every animation is showing the love that the creators have put in it. The music and animation make it so that every scene that is supposed to be funny is hilarious and every serious scene will have you sitting on the edge. It's also perfect for all ages and it teaches many good lessons. The ending is also perfect and will leave you satisfied. Overall I cannot recommend this one enough, if for some reason you haven't watched it yet DO IT NOW.
