James (2022)
Except for Punith's Last movie, nothing else is good in this Outdated Sleep Fest
Everything is Outdated in this movie. Story is Outdated, Screenplay and the twists are even more Outdated and the treatment of the story is Outdated Max Pro.
From Sarathkumar to Priya Anand it's a field outed actors galore.
Mukesh Rishi delivers a Cringe worthy over the top performance. Unexpected from him.
Sarathkumar as the main Villain. He must be in a severe financial crisis to take up a role like this. He did noting except standing till the end of the movie and let his stunt double take the beating in the end. The guy just got paid for simply standing. Seems he forgot how to play a Villain since it's been almost 3 decades he last played as a proper Villain. Probably he thought no one outside Karnataka is going to watch this.
The move is so predictable, at some point you will get bored of predicting and prefer sleeping instead.
They wanted to recreate a couple of Action pieces from Sherlock Holmes and Wanted but ended up looking like kids playing with Diwali guns.
They could've used Body doubles and some angles to bring Punith back for the patchwork. Instead they used CG which looked like a cardboard cutout with blank expression with only his mouth moving. Even reface app will do a better job.
Finally, a big salute for Shiva Rajkumar, who perfectly dubbed for his brother.
Punith's last movie was supposed to be an epic one but sadly the only way it'll be remembered is as his last movie.
Roberrt (2021)
VEDHALAM IN DISGUISE
Director's thought : How to make this no obvious that it's copied from Vedhalam? Write a screenplay which is 20yrs older than Vedhalam
What's new in the whole movie?
The HERO dude makes an innocent child a triple murderer in the end, in front of everyone. 🙄
Negative 10* for that climax....
Charlie's Angels (2019)
Misandristic
This movie has no charm the previous Charlie's Angels movies had.
The movie tries hard to be funny but becomes irritating in the process.
Kristen Stewart talks a lot and it's neither funny nor important.
The movie is so predictable. If you take a shot for every correct prediction you make, you'll be so drunk before half of the movie and that makes it easier to watch the rest of the movie.
Action sequences - a lot of quick cuts and not good at all.
There are three good guys in the movie. One dies in the beginning, One can't even open a ketchup sachet and One does the housekeeping. (If you think this spoils the movie then this movie is for you).
Elizabeth Banks should stop blaming men for the failure of this mess of a movie and learn how to make a good female-centric movie.
Kaithi (2019)
Too many similarities between KAITHI and CON AIR
Newly Paroled convict, who gets convicted for killing in the process of defending his pregnant wife and with the hope of seeing his daughter for the first time gets caught in a situation where he has to help the Police.
(Poe bought a stuffed Bunny for his daughter: Dilli bought Earrings)
The was his daughter hides when she see her father for the first time is also similar.
At least they should've given a different back story for the lead.
I wanted to enjoy this movie but these similarities kept bothering me
Pailwaan (2019)
Two movies cramped into one which could have been better individually
Hats off to Sudeep and his efforts. He's trying to hold the movie single handed.
It's two movies into one.
1. A wrestler facing trouble from a oppressive King and in the end he faces him in the ring - a total mass masala entertainer .
2. A wrestler who goes into Boxing due to some circumstances and emerging as a victor - A good sports movie
Unfortunately in Pailwaan, where the film makers tried to mix those two into one but they stand separately like oil and water.
Things like Romance, Sentiment and Message comes out of nowhere, instead of making us feel, they make us wonder where the hell did that come from.
Movie is filled with clichés picked up from late 80's to early 2000's movies which make is feel out dated and leading to a cliché filled cringe worthy climax. Instead of rooting for the hero, we will wonder when will this end. The training montage and the climax shows us it's trying hard to be ROCKY.
Before entering an International Boxing Tournament, wouldn't the Hero be taking at least some practice matches? When he makes wrestling moves in International match felt like complete nonsense.
One line end sums up how the movie was. A reporter will ask the Mentor/Father "where is your son?"Seems the Media is not aware of who is entering on behalf of India in an International Wrestling Tournament even after he won an International Boxing Tournament.
Game Over (2019)
Home Invasion meets Happy Death Day
Congratulations to the team for bringing Home Invasion and Re-Living type movie to Indian Cinema. It's a refreshing experience.
It'll be little hard to explain the climax to the audience who haven't played old console games or watched movies like Groundhog day, Happy Death Day, etc
There are nice Pac-Man references. Killers are Ghosts. Killers can be killed by protagonist like Ghosts can be eaten by Pac-Man at some point of the game and 3 lives just like in Pac-Man.
Killers are Psychopaths who kill for no reason, but some people might expect at least a single line explaining about their motive.
There is no explanation for why selecting this particular girl. Is that because of a single connection with the girl they killed in the beginning of the movie or just a coincidence?
Rustum (2019)
Inspired from many movies but fails to impress
This movie is made by someone who adamantly refuses to think a scene of his own. Underdeveloped characters, wafer thin plot, scenes looking like cheaper version of their originals, heavily borrowed BGMs and stunts. Wondering why a great Director like Mahendran failed to ask why he have to do a similar but weaker character and similar scenes from Theri.
The highlight is they made a song inspired by 'Rowdy baby' and named it "Police Baby'...one cannot make things anymore obvious.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
HOW I WANTED GOT TO END
* Jon dueling with Grey Worm and killing him before killing Dany. Dany accepting her mistake and happily dying in Jon's hand.
* Drogon trying to burn Jon and he turns out to be fireproof, so it accepts him as his Father/Owner.
* Jon as Aegon Targaryen becoming the King then destroying the Iron Throne. The survivors of Kings Landing, if any, accepting his as the King cos he killed Dany.
** if the above didn't happen, at least everyone recognising Jon as a Targaryen and He becomes the leader of the wildlings, taking the title the King beyond the Wall
* Tyrion reuniting with Sansa and also serving as King's Hand.
* Arya becoming Master Assassin/Spy for the King.
* Gendry smiling after knowing that he still has a chance.
* Jaime getting a funeral. Honouring the Hound.
* Three-Eyed Raven getting his own room in the castle, nothing more.
Finally, a post-credit scene where Brienne get a message from Tormund that He will be waiting for her.
Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019)
Your Intelligence Vs Screenplay
It happens in a dream but it's real. No one knows about that until a Chief Minister tells about that to the hero's sister in law. When it's a dream there is no heroine but when the Chef Minister narrates it as a flashback, heroine sings a duet in it (Heroine's consume in that must be that Chef Minister's Imagination) .Only after that happens as a dream, heroine meets hero and his family.
Even Nolan can't a Screenplay of this level.
One star for the Movie
One star for Top Star
One star for Sneha

Petta (2019)
Brings out the Fan Boy inside you
Petta is an UBER MASS Entertainer. A Rajni movie we've been waiting for a long time.
Whole movie is filled with Rajnism. First half is peppy. No dull moments. You can't take your eyes off the screen. That's because the Rajnism combined with a brilliant Cinematography. Rajni - Simran combo scenes are refreshing but short, which makes us want more. Stunts are well choreographed and fantastic.
Second half starts with the flashback. Unfortunately the negative side of the flashback is the same Rajnism. Because of that, our concentration will be only on Rajni and unable to connect with other characters and so, it's not as impactful as it should be. After flashback, some might feel it's bit draggy, but it's been justified in the end. Villain characters felt little weaker.
Vijay Sethupathy looks more comfortable with Rajni than any other actors in this movie and his performance is as usual, commendable.
Nawazuddin's character could've been better. Still, in couple of scenes, he shows why he's a praised actor.
I bet 80s and 90s kids will catch all the references and easter eggs.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
Super Flat
I'm not against all female cast but first they ruined Ghostbusters now the Oceans series.
Screenplay was just flat, no twists,no edge of the seat moments. They gonna steal and that's it.
No character development at all. Recruiting people for the heist was like throwing things in a shopping cart.
Whenever the gang gets a problem, they'll have a 'James Bond' level gadget to solve it. As Deadpool said "LAZY WRITING"
It's a chick flick trying to be an Heist movie...
4* for the movie
1* for Sandra Bullock....5*/10
Tomb Raider (2018)
Not for those who played 2013 game
As an origin story, Tomb Raider is an OK movie. But when compared to the game....
This movie is like a miniature version of the game. Everything shrunk, Character development got shrunk , story got shrunk, Lara's shipmates, the screen time of her iconic axe, even the size of the island got shrunk. I was expecting so much action in finale, as Himiko getting resurrected, but then i knew it's not gonna happen as there were only two members, including Lara, in that boat. And Himiko becomes just a corpse.
If you are expecting Lara fighting giant Samurai and jumping over collapsing rooftops, you will be disappointed.
Kanaka (2018)
A Weak Remake
Kanaka is a weak remake of Veyil. While Veyil is purely an emotional roller coaster, Kanaka first hits the action track, then switches to romantic track and finally gets to the emotional track and derailed, missing all the tracks. It was like watching two movies Apart from the lead character's name, there is no connection between first half and second half of the movie. Even the characterisation of lead is totally different in both halves of the movie. It's like difference between a desert and a sea. There is no strong root in romance in both halves and hence it fails to create the emotions it's supposed to create. Everything is seemed to be forced in this movie, forced romance, forced action sequences, forced emotions and finally a forced happy ending. If this movie was made into two movies, at least one of them would've been good.
Finally the Irony : Kanaka criticises Tamil and Telugu movies at the beginning, while this movie itself a remake of tamil movie also lifting tunes of "Unakenna Venum Sollu" (Ennai Arindhal) for the song "Putta Putta Kannugalu" and "Paraviyae Engu Iriukirai" (Katradhu Tamil) for the song "Matte Matte Nenapu"
Happy Death Day (2017)
More of a RomCom than Horror
This movie took me by surprise. I was expecting an okish Campus Slasher but this one had more.
It had less horror elements and more Self Evaluation and Romance elements.
It made me not to worry about the killer and think about how the girl gonna make her life better every time.
If you look for a gory slasher, this is not the one but if you wanna enjoy a funny movie with some twists, i recommend this.
"Triangle" did it in a mind blowing way...
"Edge of Tomorrow" did it in in a Si-Fi way...
This movie did it in a sweet funny way.
