Under Suspicion (2000)
Worth watching.
I'll admit this movie did have some holes in it. But, overall I really
enjoyed this film and was in awe of the way the actors performed.
Hackman and Freeman were brilliant as usual and Thomas Jane
really added some more depth to the cast. This movie is really
long and at times boring, but it picks back up near the end when
secrets are finally revealed. It IS worth the rental, but I'd just watch
it on cable. 7 stars.
Dead Man on Campus (1998)
A personal fav.
I saw this movie about 3 years ago, and I liked it right away. I've
always been a fan of Mark Paul Gossalaar and Tom Everett Scott,
and this was a great comedy. Cliff O'malley's character was
memorable and hilarious and there are several other characters
that will bring any viewer many laughs, great stuff. I watch this
movie over and over and never tire of it. 10.
The Way of the Gun (2000)
Love this movie.
Being a fan of Ryan Phillippe and Benecio Del Toro I felt i had to
see this movie. So, I bought it and I was so pleased and excited
with it that it is one of my favorite DVD'S. The action scenes, the
suspense, the dialogue, the mature and sophisticated acting
ability makes this one of the best crime/action/dramas/ that I've
ever seen. And I like the way the color of the film was made to give
it that 60's western vibe, that was very original and fitting. Also,
added great supporting performances by James Caan and Juliette
Lewis really round this film out and make it even more stable.
Furthermore, the ending action sequence was so interesting and
intense that it's easily my most favorite part of the movie. For the
reason that I watch this movie time and time again, I must give it a
10.
61* (2001)
Perfect
Not in a long time have I seen such a movie that left me with
feelings of happiness and grief. 61 is not only a great sports film,
but an excellent film period. Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper excel
as Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris as they race to see who can top
the heralded home run record of 60 by Babe Ruth. Set in 1961, the
film takes you through the entire season showing you the
pressures and hardships that both players went through on and
off the field. It also delves into such issues as Mantle's alcohol
abuse and Maris' stress problems. Jane was so charismatic and
convincing as his portrayal of Mantle that is was hard to tell that
this was JUST a movie. 61 is 2 hours and 15 minutes of pure
baseball history and will not leave anyone who is a sports
historian or merely a sports fan feeling bored or left out. This
movie gets a perfect 10.
The Replacements (2000)
Hilarious and moving.
After seeing this film I had a really good feeling inside. I'm a fan of
Gene Hackman and he was really good in this movie as the Paul
Bryant/ Tom Landry-esque coach who comes out of retirement to
coach a group of handpicked players from all walks of life. Keanu
Reeves is good in this movie but not great b/c the writing made up
for his lack of humor and acting skills. Keanu acts really tensely
and tight sometimes , much like he needs to loosen up. Jon
Favreau is hilarious as the cop/linebacker who has a vicious
streak as he's been trained to kill while working with the task force.
Plus there's a hottie cheerleader played by Brooke Langton who is
drop dead gorgeous and she plays Keanu's love interest in the
film. This movie is based on the actual NFL strike of 1987 and
also portrays how the egos of professional athletes sometimes
become inflated to the point of combustion. The track to end the
movie "heroes" by the wallflowers was not only a perfect song for
the moment, but a defining statement of who and what they were.

Changing Lanes (2002)
Edge of your seat mischief and deceit.
I just got back from the theatre and seeing this movie. It was a really exciting film from start to finish and not to mention some really great acting as well. Gavin Banek (Affleck) is an upper class white collar lawyer who is on his way to a hearing that if he wins will take him to financially the next level. Doyle Gibson (Sam Jackson) is a down on his luck alcoholic who is own his way to seek custody of his kids. The two mens' lives intertwine when they get into a wreck on the FDR turnpike. Banek brushes the incident off likes it's nothing while Gibson wants to do the right thing and exchange insurance cards etc. Banek offers Gibson a blank check to pay for damages so Banek can hurry and leave to get to his hearing. Banek accidentally writes down his info on a folder and gives it to Gibson unknowingly. The folder is the main emphasis of the movie and the two men become bitter enemies and put each other through living hell. Again, the acting is superb in this movie and it was really interesting and appealing.

Valentine (2001)
100% Crapola
This is quite possibly the worst movie under any genre I've ever seen in my entire life. Not only was this movie predictable and boring, but the acting was SO horrible that I actually fell asleep and left the room several times. David Boreanaz cannot act and the only reason I watched this film was in hopes that I would get to see Denise Richard naked. It is a lame attempt at a slasher movie with plenty of pointless gore and a script that's just plain laughable. The part near the end where the director tried to make you think that Boreanaz was the killer was obvious AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE! And furthermore, seeing a girl get her throat cut in a bodybag is tasteless and unoriginal. I give this movie a negative 5 for being so s***ty and for wasting my time.
Michael Angel (2000)
Creepy, weird, and beautiful.
I recently saw this movie, and I enjoyed it and would encourage others to see it. In the movie, a priest/artist (Richard Grieco) goes to Puerto Rico after he's found out that his brother who's a gay prostitute was brutally murdered. The movie also stars Dennis Hopper who plays an athiest psycho killer, a role he's all to familiar with. The supporting cast is good not great, but they add to the film nicely. The music that underlays the film is haunting voices, breaths, and church music. This is a great mystery/thriller and it's definitely worth seeing.
