Hidden Figures (2016)
Loved it.
I loved it. It is arguably one of my favorite films and definitely my favorite black film. I love that it showed that black women were successful in the 50's. Katherine was my favorite character because of how smart she was. No matter what people put her through she kept working and showing how smart she was. Without her many of the calculations would be incorrect. I hated that the white people would get mad at kathrine when it would take her a long time to use the restroom but they caused that. They were even pity enough to change a whole coffee pot just so Katherine wouldn't be able to share the same coffee. Mary Jackson was also my favorite.
Cinderella Man (2005)
good
Very good film. I loved the choreography. I am a big fan of boxing and watching a man with a kids box for his life and to provide for my family brought joy to my heart and tears to my ears. This is a perfect movie for a man to watch. Seeing a man box during the great depression was very cool to me. I loved that no matter what his family was going through he kept boxing. He never stopped no matter how bad the situation was.. I was a little scared for him on his last fight when he had to go against the man who has killed people in the ring but he kept fighting no matter what and put blood sweat and tears into the fight and i loved that.
Big Fish (2003)
amazing
The Big Fish was a very odd movie but that's what I enjoyed about it. I loved seeing the ed blooms mysterious adventures. This might seem sad but I enjoyed the relationship between the son and the dad because no matter how bad the son hated him he never stopped being himself. I loved how even though they knew their death was coming they never stopped living and by doing that they changed their fate and I loved that. I enjoyed how the dad never stopped chasing the girl he wanted he literally worked as a slave just to get information about her every month no the son did not enjoy the dads stories but i loved them and i feel like it had a very deep meaning.
A League of Their Own (1992)
okay
"A League of Their Own" wasn't that appealing to me. It was cool to me seeing how a women's baseball league came about but other than that it wasn't very good. Also, I didn't like how they wanted women to wear dresses when they were playing a physical sport. I also didn't like how the little sister was so jealous of Donnie because instead of being jealous she could've done better. Besides that i also believe that when the scout was judging women on how pretty they are was pretty judgemental. But one of the many things I didn't know about this film that was cool to me was that Babe Ruth was one of the coaches of the women's baseball league. Another thing I enjoyed was how the tem was still very close after over 50 years.
Ray (2004)
Amazing
Ray was a very good film. I think Jamie Fox played a Phenomenal role playing Ray Charles. I believe this is arguably the best documentary/film. I loved how they showed Ray Charles' backstory. It was amazing. My favorite character of this film wa the mother because she played the best role. The way how she helped ray to live while being blind was amazing, she taught ray to be tough and never let anybody see him as a cripple. I did not like how Ray would abuse drugs but I understand why he started because he did come from a very traumatic childhood. Seeing his brother die at a young age was very sad to me.
Walk the Line (2005)
amazing
Walk the line was very interesting it was amazing at the beginning it showed the trauma johnny cash had to go through i feel like they did a amazing job choreographing that film showing how his older brother was way more talented than him and when he died at young age johnny's father blamed him for that and would always criticizes him for that his music to me was amazing to me at the beginning even though his wife was doubting them he still kept going a liked how confident he was when he was on the shows and that inspired me i. It was also cool to me how he saw elvis and thought nothing of it.
Elvis (2022)
decent
Elvis the film was surprisingly bad. I felt like the person playing elis did not do a good representation of what elvis used to look like i felt like the film was corny in tr=erms of how elvis was movie and i also think the actor of colnel was also corny because it made him seem like a satire character who just played with elvis money. But in themes of the performing i feel like evis did a very good job it looked like the real elvis was on the stage the movie was very long. It is very rare that is ee three hour movies but i felt like that was needed to show the full story of elvis. I liked how elvis loved black people and the type of music they made. I enjoyed of how he would get inspired by them and used the movies. I liked how bb king inspired elvis to keep going even tho everyone tried to put hi down.
Darkest Hour (2017)
good
The darkest hour was a phenomenal film. It was an exquisite film and I loved it. I give it a 8/10 because I love how it was choreographed. It really stood out to me and I think Winston churchil played a very good role in this film. What was funny to me about this film was how mean and loud winston churchill was to people that helped him i liked how winston never gave up even when he had the most tough troubles i love this fim i like how winston was very good with his speeches also i liked how he still stayed sane when he had to put up with the whole country by himself he was doubted by everyone in the congress but he still never gave up.
Unbroken (2014)
good
Unbroken was really amazing and it gave me motivation and inspiration to keep moving no matter how many times I'm broken. I loved the title and the meaning behind it and I really believe this fits this film. It was kind of sad seeing how fast things could escalate during war. Because the main character really was an olympian but then a few moments later he was a random man stranded on a boat in japan with two other men with him. I was very surprised that he survived that long enough with no or almost no food to eat. It was still sad to me how one kept zoning away until he died. It was also sad to me how right after they got off the raft they suddenly got captured and went threw more back when they were stranded on a boat.
Dunkirk (2017)
decent
This film was basically a retelling of the evacuation of British soldiers from the French port of Dunkirk in May of 1940 and I feel like it was pretty good. It was a good representation of what actually happened in reality, real life. I don't know much about the french port of dunkirk because i was not borned and was not informed about this film but watching this film taught me a lot i did not know about that time this film is told from three perspectives and i think that is very impressive and fantastic and also another reason why this is good and impressive is because how hard it it to make there perspectives in one film.
12 Mighty Orphans (2021)
great.
I loved this movie not only because it was mainly about football but also because it was just very enjoyable. I also love that this is based on a true story. I am glad coach Rusty Russell came to the orphanage to displace some helpless kids but also make it fun and not just paddling kids whenever you're mad. I also love how coach Rusty Russell kept fighting to get the football team approved even when they kept trying to make the team not able to play football. My favorite character of the 12 orphans was the one who watched his dad die right in front of him and then had to go straight to an orphanage.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
good
This movie was very comedic which i loved. The trio made the film very entertaining. I like how they put the man who sold his soul to the devil in this movie. My favorite line was when they asked why he sold his soul and he said "well i wasn't using it". This movie grew on you at the beginning and I did not really like the movie but it grew on me once I got more into the film. George Clooney's part was my favorite because he got them to break out of prison for him and search for this treasure that is not even there just to see his wife and I feel like that is very relatable because that is something I would do.
Argo (2012)
Argo
This movie was very suspenseful. It was somewhat scary to see because of how realistic it was. Ben alfleck did a very good job playing his role but i believe he could've done better. It was scary to see the iranians terrorizing the u.s it looked so real to see people getting captured just for being part of the congress was very hard to see in my opinion. This movie was decent. It could've been better by showing that the Iranies weren't that evil. I believe they had a very good plan to invade the capital. But honestly i really did not get why they wanted to make a movie and their country but were afraid when they met them.
1917 (2019)
Could of been better.
This movie was very interesting and the most dark, gruesome movie thus far. It me a better description in how it was to fight in the trenches in WWI. It showed me how quick you and random you can die from war and fighting in the trenches without getting shot. It was very realistic about WWI. This movie was very haunting. This film was different for me I've never seen a film created like that. But that's what made this film very impressive. What i would have expected but it still was an alright movie. But also a lot of this film I couldn't understand. It wasn't very entertaining but it was an interesting film.
Harriet (2019)
good
The Harriet film was the best Harriet film i've ever seen the lady who played Harriet did such a great role it was amazing. She did a great job being brave and courageous. It felt like I was watching what harreit did in real life in this film. I do believe Harriet should've killed the slave owner but i did understand why she chose not to. This was a great film to be on such low of a budget. But i do wish that they made harriet seem less of a hare but a savior but this really good film the saddest part to me is when she wanted to come back and save her husband but when she went back she realized her husband got another wife and it was sad because he was a free man but he got captured because they were looking for Harriet.
Bridge of Spies (2015)
MORBID
Bridge of the spies was a very interesting film. I did not clearly understand the ending but it was very boring. Most of the film was just Tom Hanks trying to prove this man was not a spy and every other lawyer in America thought that the man was a spy. There was nothing really going on in this film. The film could've been better if the man who was accused as a spy did better. This film was all over the place. Tom Hanks carried most of this film. I also felt it wouldve been better if more women were portrayed in this fim. I could not understand the timeline and plot in this film. The beginning was a very best amazing beautiful part in this film if it kept going like the beginning it wouldve been amazing.

Red Tails (2012)
Very good
Red Tails is if i'm being honest one of the best black history movies of all time a lot of famous black actors that were in multiple black movies was in this film including; michael B. Jordan NE-YO, cuba gooding jr, Terrrence Howard, Tristan wilds, and Glaberial frealry,. All of those amazing actors were in this film. My favorite character was Major Emanuel Stance because he was an amazing leader. He always gave good orders to the pilots and he would always encourage the fellow black men to keep fighting and he would always remind them why and who they were fighting for. There were a lot of sad tragedies in this film. But the pilots never stop fighting for freedom. One of my fav scenes in this film was when the captain of the pilots broke down and kept talking bad about himself saying "I can't do this anymore" and "i'm not good enough to be a captain" and also "i've made too many mistakes''. My favorite thing about this science was how the colonel encouraged him to keep fighting and also reminded him that they're fighting for their freedom and telling him that when being a captain you won't also make good decisions. And I loved that scene.
Lincoln (2012)
Lincoln film
Lincoln was an interesting film. It was mostly about Lincoln trying to get the thirteenth amendment passed. And the film was good and it gave a representation of what Lincoln had to go through. The movie was also boring. There were a lot of scenes that in my opinion didn't make sense. The acting was amazing. There was some racism in the movie but that's how it was in the 19th century. When watching Lincoln it felt like the actor was actually Lincoln. It was historically accurate but i wouldn't recommend to people who are not interested in politics. It gave me a more understanding of Lincoln and how he was.
