Watch for the Laughs, Stay for the Feels
2 November 2019
I don't do a lot of reviews on here, but this movie really surprised me. It was hilarious, for sure; it's impossible for an Eddie Murphy fronted movie to not be. But it also was a feel good film about preserving and giving it your all. Got goosebumps at the end. Great film!

Great Film for 90s Kids
22 June 2019
Loved the film and saw it twice in theaters. I've seen all the MCU films and this is definitely one of my favorites. The writing, action, and characters were a good match, which doesn't always happen with Marvel films. The soundtrack and fashion made it even better. This film for me was similar to how my mother loved the nostalgia tracks in GOTG. Fun storyline with a twist, and of course, the casting was great. Brie did a great job with the character, and her and Jackson have great chemistry on screen. (They're great in Unicorn Store, too, so check that out next.)

Great for Mindy Fans
6 June 2019
I don't give a lot of reviews on here, but looking at how low the rating is and how much I enjoyed the movie, I had to give one. I'll just go ahead and state I think there is a very specific subset of people who will not enjoy this movie: white men. What I can say from not being either of those categories is that I felt very empowered after watching it. There's plenty of laughs and a lot of heart. You can tell the cast enjoyed working on it. If you're a fan of Mindy in general, you'll love this film. I also liked seeing a different side to Emma Thompson. Overall, a fun film to see with friends, or a date night if you're SO doesn't suffer from fragile masculinity.

Great Movie for the Outcasts
5 May 2019
I was a little hesitant watching this from other reviews I've read, but I wanted to support Brie Larson on her direction debut. I was not disappointed. The movie is a bit slow to start, but it's great once the pacing gets going. Great casting and writing. It's perfect for the 20 or 30 something who felt like they were "weird" or different growing up or still find that they are still that way now. Great film about believing in yourself and also the impact of mental illness can have on your everyday life. Definitely recommend.
