Why We Fight (2005)
Tragically Missed Message
A carefully prepared piece of propaganda, but what politically inspired piece of work isn't? Simply because it is propaganda doesn't mean it can be dismissed outright.
THERE IS TRUTH IN THIS MOVIE!
Whether it fits the people on the left or the right, the dangers American President Eisenhauer spoke of have come to pass. There is no money to be made in supplying an army that never uses its equipment. The fact that politicians lie, cheat and grow rich is nothing new. The tragedy is that someone else has to point it out to you.
I still recall the slogan "My Country, Right Or Wrong" coming out of the USA. Unfortunately, far too many people have failed to grow past that kind of mental subjugation.
As a companion to this film, I strongly recommend "Fog Of War", based on the experiences of former US Defence Secretary Robert McNamara (Kennedy/Johnson/Vietnam).
Why do we fight? Same reason as always...

Blond & Brunettes (2001)
No Toys and No Boys(almost)
Guys aren't going to think there's "enough" in this movie(no toys, one boy...later), but I guess that's to be expected in a movie more designed to drive women over the edge.
Andrew Blake is a master of erotic imagery, not porn. Any idiot can shoot people doin' the nasty, but Blake has a style that permeates his work and as a piece of erotica this stands very high on the list.
In discussions with lady-friends I have devised the axiom "Toys are for boys", meaning that women use them only because men basically demand it of them. Quite a few women would be quite pleased at the prospect of sex without having something artificial stuck in them, particularly mechanized plastic.
As a lesbian-fantasy movie this is a powerhouse. Blake uses his knowledge of framing, pacing, lighting, erotic imagery and his understanding of the feminine psyche to the fullest effect. If you doubt how well this goal was achieved, ask a woman to sit through it and give you her opinion (once she stops panting).
Most "porn" seems to have the simple goal of "stick something in there!". Doesn't matter what it is... foreign objects, feet, fists, inflatable scary s**t... Think about what it must be like on the receiving end, then, think about the picture presented in this erotic, sensual, loving masterpiece.
Andrew Blake's "Blond And Brunettes" is the type of movie that will make your wife seriously consider.....
9+/10 - 'cause perfect is just too hard to come by.
