Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006)
A Comedic Classic
Ah yes, an awesome comedy. There are a lot of pros that I wanna say about this:
The plot is really great and the dialogues are very funny. The chemistry between all the male leads were amazing. There are loads of memorable scenes, and I remember a lot of them. Even the side actors that have less screentime manage to be really great. Ajey Devgan did an amazing job. Arshad Warsi's acting is memorable and funny. Sharman Joshi was great whenever he was on screen. Tusshar Kapoor nailed the acting of a mute person. There are countless amount of good acting that this is one of the best comedy movies ever. The only downside with this is the fact that it's not original, plus the female lead barely offered anything. Otherwise, this film is a must watch.
Cirkus (2022)
Honest Review
I'm gonna be completely honest. I will not only list out the cons, but I will also list the pros of this movie.
Cons:
Some dialogues were just way too silly or way too modern for a movie that takes place in the 60s or 70s.
This whole thing about how one ranveer touching an electric point and the other one getting electrocuted just doesn't make any sense.
Some jokes and expressions seem to be overdone.
One scene is literally a ripoff of the final part of the warehouse fight scene of Hungama (2003).
Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde are the "female leads", but not only they barely get any screentime, their acting is also horrible. Seriously, the casting director should have hired Deepika for the lead actress. She would have done better.
Before I get to the pros, I'll say one thing I'm neutral about. Ranveer Singh's acting was not very good, but it still isn't is worst acting. Anyways, let's list the pros.
Pros:
Some scenes are actually pretty funny.
The side actors like Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Jadhav and Johnny Lever actually did an amazing acting.
The usage of retro songs were delightful.
The song 'Current Laga Re' is a great song. You'll definitely enjoy it.
I also love the references to Rohit Shetty's previous movies, especially the final scene, which confirms that this movie actually takes place before Golmaal Again (2017)
The set, while it may look artificial, it still doesn't stop it from being gorgeous.
Overall:
This movie is pretty average. It's not a disaster like many people say, but it is also far from perfect, and also less funnier than all the Golmaal movies. (FUN FACT: Rohit Shetty said with full confidence that this is funnier than all Golmaal movies) There is still room for improvement for Rohit Shetty, so next time, please don't overdo the jokes. Plus, hire a better lead actress, but if the lead actress in your movie barely has any relevance, then don't have one. Anyways, Cirkus is pretty average. Watching it once is not gonna hurt you, but it won't excite you.
The Matrix (1999)
My first R rated movie.
Yes, you've read it in the title. I was expecting it to be more gory, but it is actually mild. Anyways, onto the main review.
If you're looking for a classic sci-fi movie, The Matrix is the one for you. The concept is really thought out and the execution was done right with amazing acting from people like Keanu Reeves, Lawrence Fishburne, Carrie Anne-Moss, Hugo Weaving, and many more actors. The movie looks extremely ahead of it's time. The special effects are also very amazing. We got many iconic scenes like the Lobby Shootout, Neo dodging bullets in slow motion, Morpheus offering red and blue pills, and many more. If you love thrillers then you should watch this. There are scenes which can give chills to your spine. Before you watch it though, I might wanna warn you about something. The first half contains a few disgusting scenes like a bug crawling inside Neo's stomach and Neo waking up in the "real world". Children would get traumatized seeing these scenes, but if you are a teen or older, you can handle it since these scenes are not even graphic. The Matrix is truly a masterpiece and the last gem of the 20th century, because it was released in 1999.
