Plane (2023)
Old 80's and 90's homage to action films
'Plane' is one of those rare modern-day action films that don't get made anymore. It is also quite a small scaled as well. This is like an instant 'Cell' kind of screenplay scenario and although it is not a perfect movie, it's mainly just an enjoyable experience like a Michael Mann style film.
Gerald Butler is really good in this movie as he always is in most of his action films with stunts and emotions.
There are some very intense sequences that are surprisingly white-knuckled including the initial crash landing as well as many sequences involving the hostages as well as many sequences involving the group of men that run into on the island and you realize what is going on with those characters. This results to a movie that is very bloody with moments that took me by surprise.
Overall, 'Plane' is a great watch with fun action experiences, great emotional acting from Gerald Butler and it's an 80's & 90's style action movie combined with two actions films that I always enjoyed, 'Behind Enemy Lines' (1997) and 'Air Force One' (1997), with a bit of Rambo in the mix.

Cherry (2022)
Gorgeous film
The importance of safe sex in some ways is quite under explored in the queer community so I think the message of this film was heartwarming & needed. It shows very surprising emotionally effective ways of how one might deal with the repercussions of their own mistakes.
There is quite a bit to uncover in this film. It feels very simple on the surface and both characters only talk to each other for a few seconds, but they both have quite a bit going on. The depth in Cherry's character and Cig's sorrow in the end was the biggest reason this film stood out to me so much - they weren't just two regular guys being romantic with each other. They both had their own struggles and the writing of the film showed several layers of love through these two characters.
It's also wonderfully shot with beautiful cinematography especially during the intimate moment in the flashback. The actors gave understated performances - it didn't really seem like performances to me and that I was actually watching two guys talking even if it just had minimum dialogue, I also thought the actor who played Cherry brought genuine innocence to the character.
Overall, "Cherry" is a strong short film with very simple but layered storytelling. It also had relatable characters, extremely well-done & understated acting and gorgeous cinematography.

Slice of Life (2019)
Absolutely enthralling with calming ease
I really liked this film. It Is beautiful and entertaining. The practical effects in this film were as identical to the original Blade Runner. The lack of dialogue in this film made it relaxing and will be good way to watch when you're in bed.
The world and atmosphere these guys have created to build the cyberpunk world was basically flawless, from the colors, VFX, practical effects and costuming. This is the most accurate Blade Runner type film I've ever seen. I hope we get to see more movies like this in the future. 20 minutes was a great runtime for 'Slice of Life'. Wish Harrison Ford could be in it. 8/10.
