I was old enough to see the original original Ghostbusters, at least five or six times in the theaters. Of the best comedies ever in my opinion five years later, we got an average sequel. But hey, how could you follow up on the original?
You're only 40 years later, we got Ghostbusters afterlife, which was a true love letter to the series and a tribute to Harold Ramis.
Here we have the Ghostbusters in New York, led by Paul Rudd, Kari, and Company. While they battle new ghosts, and take up the mantle. Meanwhile, the originals are still around this time then the last time
The new big pad this time is Garrka, a big bad so ghoulish that he's probably the worst they faced. I thought Slimer had the best laugh in the whole movie, and there are some real bump and jolt scares in this movie as well.
This was a decent Ghostbusters film. It's just there's too many paddles going on in too many puddles. It's great to see Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson.. Paul Rudd is a true talent and all the actors are pretty good. It's just some of the jokes fall flat, Some characters just kind of fall through the cracks. Not to mention the big bad is pretty much extinguished pretty easy after all that buildup.??!
Maybe it would've been better if they made a two parter with a cliffhanger?
I will recommend this film because it is one big goulash of a supernatural comedy. I hope we get a final Ghostbusters or if they just keep on making them that would be great but it's just Get a handle on the narrative.
