It's great to see the Ghostbusters again but it's a crowded house
3 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I was old enough to see the original original Ghostbusters, at least five or six times in the theaters. Of the best comedies ever in my opinion five years later, we got an average sequel. But hey, how could you follow up on the original?

You're only 40 years later, we got Ghostbusters afterlife, which was a true love letter to the series and a tribute to Harold Ramis.

Here we have the Ghostbusters in New York, led by Paul Rudd, Kari, and Company. While they battle new ghosts, and take up the mantle. Meanwhile, the originals are still around this time then the last time

The new big pad this time is Garrka, a big bad so ghoulish that he's probably the worst they faced. I thought Slimer had the best laugh in the whole movie, and there are some real bump and jolt scares in this movie as well.

This was a decent Ghostbusters film. It's just there's too many paddles going on in too many puddles. It's great to see Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson.. Paul Rudd is a true talent and all the actors are pretty good. It's just some of the jokes fall flat, Some characters just kind of fall through the cracks. Not to mention the big bad is pretty much extinguished pretty easy after all that buildup.??!

Maybe it would've been better if they made a two parter with a cliffhanger?

I will recommend this film because it is one big goulash of a supernatural comedy. I hope we get a final Ghostbusters or if they just keep on making them that would be great but it's just Get a handle on the narrative.

Major headliners propelled the sequel into action movie Nirvana
25 February 2024
In 2010 Stallone wrote and directed a little movie, called the expendables that made over 275 million. I enjoyed it and so I knew a sequel was gonna the good news is the sequel has surpassed the original, even with some dumb punch lines that we love and a great villain by Jean Claude Van Damme

The film open with the crackerjack pace of action that sees our heroes, taking down another terrace group. Meanwhile, they get a job from trench where they have to get some kind of nuclear device in China

The action flows fast and furious and hilarious at that. Everybody gets to show their specialty here with the longest runtime ever in the series.

The new additions here are Liam Hemsworth as the sniper for Barney's team. He has a really good scene that provides a lot of empathy and gives the cast a little bit of time to stretch their chops.

That we get the legendary, Chuck Norris showing up doing what he does best. Arnold Schwarzenegger also returns. Does Bruce Willis with superb results that had me laughing in the theater..

No movie is worth it its villain. JCVD fill that role really well as the heartless, villain known as "Villain" and his henchman played by none other than Scott Adkins himself. The only shame is that Van Dam is not a scream for probably more than 20 minutes, but when he's on it, he has commanding and shows why he became a star in the 1st Pl., Scott Adkins is simply fabulous as the right hand man

This is an action love to the films we grew up with in the 80s and 90s 90s. It should've been a bigger hit in the US but overseas it dominated in the summer of 2012 being known as the avengers of action films. Simply the best of the series and I love as well. God bless you Sly.

The worst expendables out of them all
25 February 2024
Hey, I grew up on the action heroes. Commando, invasion, USA, first blood, blood sport, and others.

Being a kid of the 80s, I loved going to the Cineplex and then the 90s as well. But when the 2000s came around, our big bulky heroes disappeared. However, they were brought back in 2010 the expendables.. a solid effort a fantastic crew, and lead to an even better sequel with JCVD. The last outing was not a US success, but overseas it was phenomenal. I was hoping they would get the formula, right didn't.

From the get-go, this movie is highly predictable, you know what's gonna happen, one of the main villains is totally predictable, and some other stupid plot lines that don't make any sense.

But what's worse is that a lot of characters who we've grown and loved in this series are simply wasted, especially Dolph. It's a mix bag which you can see coming from a mile away one of the only good things that I like in this movie is seeing Tony Jaa

Otherwise, this is a flaccid effort, which was supposed to knock our socks off as action fans but in the end, it's a dud. Where is the Arnold? The Rock? Scott Adkins or Thomas Jane. This is a serious misfire on all. Chambers.

I movie, tries to answer questions, but ends up, falling flat
9 October 2023
So having some relatives in West Virginia, and visiting there, it is a beautiful place. Visiting there, I heard the story of the moth man multiple times, even read the moth man book which is clearly flawed.

So here comes a big budget movie in 2002 that was rumored to star David Duchovny and be filmed in West Virginia. Well, we get a Pennsylvania doing a poor job of it as for the rest of the movie?

If you can't sleep, then watch this movie because it'll knock you out in a minute

So we get Richard Gere as the newspaper man running around in West, Virginia, with Will Patton, looking like he hasn't slept in a week. Meanwhile, we are treated to dubious, mumbo-jumbo, and theories about how the moth man is a harbinger of doom. Until the faithful bridge crash of 1967 in point Pleasant West Virginia.

For me, the movie hardly made any sense send its attempts to be scary just did not do anything for me even with a late start with Alan Bates showing up didn't do it

The bridge crash was tragic and well done but that was about it. There's no suspense, no scares, and NO moth man.

The movie is a big disappointment. So if you want to see this, I say skip it but if you can't sleep, this is your movie.
